Two teenage boys bailed after major Dunelm fire in Northampton.
Two teenagers arrested after a major fire at a Dunelm store have been released on questioned the 14 and 15-year-old boys following the blaze at Nene Valley Retail Park off Towcester Road in Northampton on Saturday afternoon.A third boy, aged 13, has been released with no further action. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said one crew remained at the scene to dampen down any hotspots but all roads in the area had reopened. Northampton retail park fire sees three arrested
Three people have been arrested after a major fire broke out inside a store at a retail emergency services were called to the Dunelm store at the St James Retail Park in Northampton off Towcester Road just after 15:00 BST on from social media showed the fire has spread into the next door Pets at Home store which had been evacuated of staff and animals. Det Ch Insp Andrew Tuff of Northamptonshire Police said the force believed the fire had been started deliberately with the three arrested on suspicion of arson. "At the present time, we believe this fire to have been started deliberately and throughout the day, have made a number of fast-paced enquiries which has led to these three arrests," he explained."However, I now want to appeal to the public for any information which could help our investigation. If you were in, or near, the Dunelm store this afternoon and saw anything suspicious, please contact us."I am particularly interested in speaking to a man who allegedly saw people setting fires in the Dunelm toilets a short time before the incident was reported." The officer added that the incident had "not only caused significant damage and disruption", but would have a "serious effect" on Dunelm staff and surrounding urged anyone with information to come Fire and Rescue Service said on Saturday night crews would remain at the scene throughout the night as they continued to tackle the Road remains closed in both directions from the St Peter's Way roundabout to the Shell Garage at the retail park are also expected to remain closed. Northampton fire: Massive inferno breaks out at retail park in town centre sending plumes of thick smoke into the sky
A MASSIVE fire has broken out at a retail park in a town centre sending billows of smoke into the sky. Emergency services were called to the shop in Nene Valley Retail Park, in Northampton just before 3:30pm today. Towcester Road is currently shut between the St Peter's Way roundabout whilst fire officers deal with the incident. It is believed no one has been injured at this time. Locals have been urged to keep their windows and doors shut whilst crew work to put out the fire. A Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: 'We are currently dealing with a fire at a store in Northampton. 'No one is believed to be injured as a result of the fire; however, Towcester Road is currently shut between the St Peter's Way roundabout and the Shell Garage roundabout whilst we deal with this incident. "The smoke from this fire is blowing toward the town centre, and people in the local area are advised to keep windows and doors shut until further notice. "We will continue to provide updates when we can.' Northamptonshire Police said: "The smoke from this fire is blowing toward the town centre and people in the local area are advised to keep windows and doors shut until further notice.
