Trains CANCELLED throughout afternoon at Didcot Parkway Station after emergency

Trains into and out of Didcot Parkway Station have been cancelled for much of the afternoon. This followed an incident today (August 19) during which a man died. British Transport Police were called to the South Oxfordshire train station at 3pm with officers and paramedics attending. A spokesperson said: 'We were called to Didcot station shortly after 3pm today, 19 August, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. 'Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. READ MORE: 'The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.' Before this Great Western Railway had said that services would be disrupted until 5:15pm, although it seems it will go beyond that. Disruption is expected until 5.15pm.' However, currently it is showing trains being delayed and cancelled on the line until the 5:44pm to London Paddington. The Trainline app is reporting that the 5:58pm to London from Didcot is cancelled, as well as several upcoming trains to Oxford. Following that, services are expected to return to normal. The spokesperson for GWR added: "We're working with Network Rail and the emergency services to deal with the incident as sensitively, quickly and safely as possible. "Some trains will be revised, only completing parts of their normal journeys, and there will also be some cancellations.'
