PHOTOS: Catalytic converter thief caught on camera at Reynolds School District, still at large
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – New details have come to light in the case of several catalytic converters that went missing from the Reynolds School District. School leaders have released photos of the suspect — along with the vehicle they believe the suspect was using — after over Memorial Day weekend. Sleeping woman sexually assaulted at TriMet MAX station in Hillsboro Photos show a white '90s Ford passenger van and a suspect wearing dark clothing while carrying a black and red Milwaukie backpack. District maintenance workers discovered the buses with missing catalytic converters early Tuesday morning. The devices, which contain precious metals, clean vehicle emissions and are a common target of thieves. The materials stolen in this theft resulted in $27,000 worth of parts. An investigation revealed a hole in the fence in the back area. DoveLewis' after-hours vet care facing proposed budget cuts The school district has security cameras, a locked gate and fencing. However, officials say the district had to let go of the private security that patrolled the area due to budget cuts. Sleeping woman sexually assaulted at TriMet MAX station in Hillsboro
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities are looking for information that could help identify a man accused of assaulting a sleeping woman at a TriMet MAX station. Hillsboro police said the man assaulted the woman at the 12th and Washington MAX Station just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20. Security footage showed the man leaving the scene in a van that appears to be a Chevrolet Express, according to investigators. East Burnside Street to see weekend closure for repaving
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A busy section of East Burnside Street is going to be closed through the weekend while crews work to repave. According to the Portland Bureau of Transportation, East Burnside Street from 94th Avenue to 99th Avenue will be closed starting Friday night until Monday morning. Old Town residents 'furious' that outreach group is blocking roads, parking lots The crews will be working to repave the intersection of East Burnside Street and 97th Avenue, where the TriMet MAX line turns onto burnside and where people using the Interstate 205 multiuse path cross the road, officials said. A second closure is also set to happen from April 2 to April 4 during the night only so crews can do work on the traffic signals and also work on TriMet MAX operations. Portland Tacos, Tequila & Tamales Festival, Holi Festival of Colors among weekend events During the closure, officials said that bikers and pedestrians can still continue through the area, but they need to follow directions from flaggers and construction signs.
