The London walking tour that is officially the best experience in the UK
Every year TripAdvisor analyses thousands of reviews from around the world to come up with the highest rated attractions and experiences on the planet. They call it the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, and the 2025 edition has just been unveiled. Under the 'Top Experiences' category in the awards, TripAdvisor has revealed its top-rated tourist activities in the UK – these are day trips, walking tours, outdoor adventures and more. The awards recognise experiences that receive a high volume of exceptional reviews over a 12-month period. According to the platform, out of its eight million listings, fewer than one percent make it into the Travellers' Choice rankings. This year, the UK's number one experience was awarded to the London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs. With a five-star rating across more than 7,000 reviews, this history-steeped pub crawl was recommended by 99 percent of people who went on it. On the boozy walking tour visitors will encounter some of London's oldest pubs in the city centre, like Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, while hearing tales of the local neighbourhood, literary legends and getting insider tips from the tour guides. Reviews of the tour called it 'funny and informative', while others praised the guide for his 'charisma' and 'quirky fun facts'. Runners up in the Top Experience category included a guided walking tour of Edinburgh Castle in second place, the tour of Manchester City football stadium in third, and a canoeing excursion along the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wrexham, coming in fourth. including the best thing to do in the UK in 2025, here.

Singapore is one of Asia's top travel destinations in 2025, according to TripAdvisor
Trawling through user reviews is one of the best ways to decide if a given place is worth your time, and each year, TripAdvisor receives hundreds and thousands of opinions on various tourist attractions, food establishments, and hotels all across the world. As part of this year's TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, the Best of the Best have been selected – all based on a high volume of excellent user reviews over a one-year period – and we're stoked to announce that Singapore has made its way on the ranks of the 'Destinations' category. Singapore ranks eleventh place in TripAdvisor's list of best travel destinations in Asia for 2025 – a decent spot on the list of 25. The popular beach paradise of Bali takes the number one position, followed by Hanoi (#2), Bangkok (#3), Hoi An (#4) and Siem Riep (#5) rounding out the top five, showing that Southeast Asian cities dominate. Places like Nepal's Kathmandu (#7) and India's New Delhi (#8) also make an appearance in the top 10. Singapore falls just outside this range, but hey, there's always next year. TripAdvisor highlights city tours, shopping malls, night tours, and attractions like theme parks as some of the 'great things to do' in Singapore, with the Thian Hock Keng temple and beaches mentioned as some places to visit. But that's barely scratching the surface, as our list of 101 best things to do in Singapore will tell you. On top of those mainstays, there are always new attractions and pop-ups opening across the island every month – the ongoing Jurassic World exhibition, upcoming Singapore Oceanarium, and yearly i Light festival are just some of the many examples. And if you're hankering for a satisfying meal after all that fun? Check out compilation of the best hawker centres in Singapore, or our newly updated list of 50 best cafés in Singapore. Our ever-expanding collection of new restaurants in Singapore is a great resource for foodies too. While TripAdvisor lauds us for being 'one of the cleanest and safest cities of its size in the world' – clearly true as we recently scored second in a new list of the safest cities in Southeast Asia – it also amusingly warns visitors of the importance of following our local laws, which includes not being allowed to spit in public. Indeed, we're a fine city – find out more about the odd things that are illegal in Singapore so that you don't unwittingly get slapped with a penalty for the most unexpected offences. Getting back to the main point: If you're planning a holiday in Asia, Singapore is definitely worth a visit. Although it's small, you'll never be bored or hungry in this island city. After all, this user review-based ranking speaks for itself. 25 best travel destinations in Asia in 2025, according to TripAdvisor: Bali, Indonesia Hanoi, Vietnam Bangkok, Thailand Hoi An, Vietnam Siem Riep, Cambodia Phuket, Thailand Kathmandu, Nepal New Delhi, India Maldives Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Singapore Jaipur, India Chiang Mai, Thailand Kyoto, Japan Seoul, South Korea Agra, India Colombo, Sri Lanka Phnom Penh, Cambodia Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Hong Kong Jakarta, Indonesia Pokhara, Nepal Luzon, Philippines Flores, Indonesia Beijing, China READ MORE

The stunning UK beach that 'looks like Caribbean' with crystal blue water
The Caribbean may be out of your budget this year, but if you want a beach break that's a little closer to home, you might want to consider this stunning UK destination If you're looking for a beach getaway on a budget, you might want to consider this UK destination that 'looks like the Caribbean' thanks to its white sand beaches and vibrant blue water. Located on the Isle of Harris in Scotland 's Outer Hebrides, Luskentyre Beach is hailed as one of Europe's most beautiful shorelines. It is one of Harris' largest stretches of coast and also one of the most jaw-dropping shorelines, even earning it a spot among the UK's top beaches as per the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards. People who live on this remote island are proud to call it home, especially when they can enjoy the beach year-round – often without crowds of tourists. A woman named Caz took to TikTok to show off the beach's beauty in a video, leaving viewers wondering if they're looking at Scotland or a much sunnier destination. "Scotland? Or the Caribbean?" Caz wrote on the video before sharing clips of her and her friends enjoying a day at the beach. The video included shots of them all diving into the crystal-clear water and playing football on the shore. The Isle of Harris has been basking in a spell of good weather, boasting sun-soaked days with warmer temperatures in the run-up to summer. This welcome change has allowed residents to spend time on their beach ahead of the busy tourist season in the peak of summer. The video capturing these sunny scenes garnered over 2.5million views in just three days, prompting some viewers to fantasise about enjoying the beach themselves. However, some remained sceptical about the location of the beach, as they couldn't quite believe it was right on their doorstep. "This is not Scotland," one person said, while another asked: "Where the hell are you finding beaches like this in Scotland." Nevertheless, the doubts were quickly put to rest by several people who had visited Luskentyre themselves. These visitors were quick to share their own experiences of the beautiful beach. "Luv Luskentyre beach it's gorgeous xx," declared one fan, while another added: "Scotland! I live in Scotland and me and family went there at one point! Gorgeous place!" "Just remember, that water is cold enough to send you into shock if you're not careful," said another. Meanwhile someone else chimed in with, "Might look like Caribbean but temp is far from it." According to Hidden Scotland, late spring and summer are the best times to pay a visit to Luskentyre beach. At this time of year you will get the warmest weather, vital for any successful beach day. The 'lingering light' at this time of year also creates beautiful views of the surrounding landscape that are hard to beat.
