Neil Nitin Mukesh reveals how 'outsiders' like Shah Rukh Khan and Kartik Aaryan inspire him: 'Nepotism never helped me...'

Neil Nitin Mukesh challenges nepotism assumptions, emphasizing hard work over family connections in Bollywood. Despite his lineage, he asserts that talent is paramount, citing Shah Rukh Khan and Kartik Aaryan as inspirations. Neil was recently featured in 'Hai Junoon' and is currently awaiting his next project announcement, highlighting his journey and perspective on the industry. Neil Nitin Mukesh recently opened up about his journey in the film industry, challenging common assumptions about nepotism. Coming from a well-known film family, Neil shared how despite his lineage, he has faced struggles like many outsiders. Rejecting the Label of Nepotism In conversation with Screen, Neil expressed that he does not agree with the term 'nepotism' because, despite his film family background, he has had to work hard like many others to build his career. He shared that although being born into the industry may change how people see him, it has not helped him get work easily. In fact, he said that neither his grandfather Mukesh, his father Nitin Mukesh, nor himself have received special support in their careers. Over three generations, they have all faced significant struggles and have worked hard to sustain their craft and make a living. Talent Over Connections He also stressed that talent is the most important thing, and no matter how many chances an actor gets, they won't succeed without it. He pointed out that today's stars look up to Shah Rukh Khan as a benchmark—not just because he is a huge superstar, but also because he started as an outsider and made it big. Neil said he, too, draws inspiration from actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Kartik Aaryan , who comes from a non-film background. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 25 Best Cities for Living Undo He appreciates Kartik's simple family values and the strong bond he shares with his parents, which he finds refreshing. 'Curricular content needs to address structures of inequality related to caste, gender, and socio-economic status. Tamil Nadu's rich cultural, historical, and environmental context needs to be showcased,' the policy said. The SEP advocates activity-based learning, project-based learning, experiential learning, and arts and sports integration. Students will receive structured career guidance from Class IX, and schools need to have solar panels, rainwater harvesting, digital labs, clean sanitation, and inclusive play areas. Property dealer's murder planned by his friend who wanted revenge

Gurgaon: The Aug 4 murder of property dealer Rohit Shokeen was planned for days, if not months, with the prime suspect smarting from insults and abuses that the 39-year-old had targeted him with during a Facebook Live session around two years ago. Police said Deepak Nandal, the suspect, was in touch with Shokeen to discuss the place and time to return around Rs 30 lakh he had borrowed from the property dealer years ago. Childhood friends, the two fell apart. Shokeen, who lived in Delhi, was gunned down by two bikers when he made the errand to pick up the cash near Palm Hills society in Sector 77. Shokeen had abused Nandal live on social media while revealing that Nandal borrowed money from him. He also talked badly about Nandal's parents. Nandal nursed a grudge against him ever since," a police officer investigating the case told TOI on Thursday. The officer said that a week before the murder, Nandal — who lives abroad — made multiple calls to Shokeen and politely promised to pay the debt. "It wasn't the money. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 11 Foods That Help In Healing Knee Pain Naturally Learn More Undo The reason for the shooting was repeated public insults that Shokeen had hurled at Nandal," he added. Probe into the case has also found that Shokeen and rapper Fazilpuria were in touch. Police said Fazilpuria had called up Shokeen to ask about Nandal after the rapper's car came under fire in the city on July 14. The common thread that has emerged in the two incidents is gangster Sunil Sardhania, who claimed a hand in both the attacks and linked them to a Rs 5 crore loan that Nandal had allegedly given to Fazilpuria to "build his career". Speaking to TOI on Thursday, Fazilpuria denied taking any loan. "I never took any loan. Labels invested money in my career. I last met Shokeen two and a half years ago and once interacted with him over the phone. My photo with Shokeen used in the social media post in which someone claiming to be Sardhania is an old photograph and was deliberately used to pressurise me," the singer said. Sardhania, a member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, had claimed on social media that he was behind Shokeen's murder. Police said they will name Nandal and Sardhania in the FIR after taking a supplementary statement from Shokeen's wife. They are also on the lookout for the two bikers, who fired 20 bullets at Shokeen on Aug 4. "We have vital clues about the suspects. Multiple police teams are raiding their possible hideouts," ASI Sandeep Kumar, a police spokesperson, said. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Meet at Shivneri fort for march: Jarange

Kolhapur: Quota activist Manoj Jarange has urged members of the Maratha community to gather at Shivneri fort on the evening of Aug 27. From there, a large-scale march to Mumbai's Azad Maidan is set to begin on Aug 29. The primary goal of the march is to press for several demands, including legal recognition of Marathas as Kunbis, which would make them eligible for the 27% reservation quota under the Other Backward Class (OBC) category for government jobs and education. Speaking to the activists in Solapur on Wednesday, Jarange called on the Marathas to ask the elected representatives, from village heads to ministers, to join the march. He also warned that those who do not participate could face consequences in the upcoming local body elections. While Jarange did not issue a boycott call for the elections, he said the decision on how Maratha votes will be cast would be determined later. "After our march to Mumbai in Jan 2024 was stopped at Vashi, we were given several assurances which have not been fulfilled. We have been betrayed by the govt," Jarange said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The World's Most Beautiful Cities Where Life is Simply Better Undo "This time around we will not return without winning the reservation battle. I am leaving from Antarwali Sarati on Aug 27 at 10am and will reach Shivneri fort via Paithan, Shevgaon, Ahilyanagar and Alephata," he added. The quota activist said that a team was sent to check the feasibility of Malahej ghat route to reach Mumbai. "However, owing to several hurdles, this route is not feasible," he said. "Visibility there is very low and landslides may occur. There is no single tyre puncture repair shop, neither snacks or tea stall along the 50-60 km stretch. To avoid the inconvenience to our brothers who will come by vehicles, we may take the Chakan-Talegaon-Vashi-Chembur route to reach the venue," said Jarange. He said state govt should fulfil the demands by Aug 26 and if not by then the Marathas will begin the march and will not stop till we reach Azad Maidan.
