PKR Sabah nearly completes seat talks with PH, BN
Mustapha
KOTA KINABALU (June 29): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah is finalising discussions with Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah and Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah in preparation for the upcoming state elections.
PKR Sabah chief Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud said that about five percent of the discussions remain, with the majority of issues already resolved at this level.
He said PKR is eyeing around 13 seats or more and acknowledged that while there were disagreements with other PH components, such differences are normal and can be settled amicably.
Regarding BN, Mustapha said both sides have held several meetings and are working to ensure there are no overlapping seat claims. He added that efforts are also underway to reach a mutual understanding on policy formulation to build a better Sabah.
Commenting on Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), he said PKR is open to future cooperation.
'But I think it's time for us to start discussions or 'kopi-kopi' first to get to know each other,' he said.
'Our intention is to reduce seat clashes among parties that are pillars of the Madani government. For us in Keadilan, political stability is of utmost importance for the state and the country,' he added.
