Recently, Karni Sena leader Dr Raj Shekhawat issued a strong statement and addressed film distributors and theatre owners. 'We, the audience and supporters of cinema, would like to ask all film distributors and theatre owners what objection do you have to giving Kesari Veer a prime-time slot? You've allotted it morning shows when viewer footfall is relatively low. Why is this historic film being sidelined in such a manner?" he said. Urging theatre owners to re-evaluate their scheduling, the Karni Sena leader added, 'There is still time to make a change. We urge you to contribute by giving this important film the visibility it deserves through prime-time shows. Otherwise, we may be compelled to take this issue to a public forum." He also appealed to the public to support the Sooraj Pancholi starrer by watching it in cinemas and said, 'At the same time, I appeal to the citizens of this country to go to theatres in large numbers and support Kesari Veer. The film is based on the valour of the great warrior Hamir Singh Gohil and those brave souls who sacrificed their lives to protect the sacred Somnath temple. Let us come together to support such films so that filmmakers are encouraged not discouraged to bring our heroic history to life on screen." Kesari Veer Day 1 Advance Bookings: Sooraj Pancholi-led biographical drama eyes slow start due to limited showcasing
Starring Sooraj Pancholi, Kesari Veer will soon join the box office race in the Hindi markets. The period drama will be released on May 23, 2025, while having a box office clash with Bhool Chuk Maaf and Kapkapiii. Also starring Vivek Oberoi and Suniel Shetty, the upcoming historical movie is eyeing a slow start due to limited showcasing. Jointly produced by Rajen Chauhan, Heena Chauhan, Suhraj Chauhan and Ohm Chauhan, Kesari Veer will open on a dull note at the box office. With a few hours to go for its release, the Sooraj Pancholi starrer has witnessed limited showcasing overall. Filling those shows would be difficult, as the film lacks the momentum that it requires in its space. The advance bookings for Kesari Veer are only available at small national chains, non-national chains, and single screens. The opening performance of the movie will also depend on the walk-ins throughout the day. The film mainly caters to the target audience who like watching historical dramas. It was an evening of kabaddi, culture, and cinema in Wardha, Nagpur, where Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a heartfelt pitch for Suniel Shetty's upcoming film Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath. At the Devabhavo Kabaddi Spardha, the CM took a moment to heap praise on the teaser and trailer of the historical epic, calling it a much-needed tribute to the forgotten heroes who fought to protect the Somnath Temple. Suniel Shetty gives message of national unity in the wake of Pahalgam attack
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has a message on national unity for the people of the country after the cowardly attack in Pahalgam, last week by the terrorists. The actor, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Kesari Veer', spoke with IANS, and gave a call to the fellow countrymen to stand united, and keep the differences aside. He equated the film's message as the current requirement on behalf of the country's citizens as the film also deals with the attack led by the Tughlaq Empire where locals fought the invading forces to protect the Somnath Temple and the Hindu faith. Suniel told IANS, 'The message in the end is very clear, that the country is above anything else. People coming together, simple people from different walks of life, who come together to fight for one cause, and that is evil. And that's the way we should be thinking even today. We should not let hatred, and fear take over. But let your combined strength and our values take over and show the world that we are one. And we never would be disturbed'. He further cited the example of the attacks of 26/11 when armed Pakistani terrorists entered India's economic engine, Mumbai through its coast, and reigned open terror on its people before they were neutralised by the National Security Guard across a 3-day operation. The actor told IANS, 'It happened earlier as well, 26/11 happened but, Mumbai got up the very next day, saluting all the people who lost their lives, saluting all the people in uniform who lost their lives. We're more vigilant now, we're more aware now. I think that's the message that our film 'Kesari Veer' also gives. Our values, relationships, our culture, our gods, our goddesses are something we deeply revere'. Earlier, a video of the actor from Kashmir went viral on social media, in which he was seen urging the people of India to not turn their backs on Kashmir, and turn up in droves to support the economy through tourism. As per the Economic Survey report of Jammu and Kashmir, the state witnessed an annual footfall of 3.26 crore tourists, with tourism accounting for more than INR 18, 000 crore.
