Exclusive Tracker Finale Trailer Reveals Major Returning Character
Is Colter Shaw about to track down the truth about his father's murder? The Tracker Season 2 finale is only one week away, and TVLine has an exclusive extended trailer. Airing Sunday, May 11 (CBS, 8/7c), the episode sees Colter return to Echo Ridge to investigate a diner owner's disappearance, only to uncover a decades-old kidnapping… and a shocking family secret. At the time, Colter believed that Russell (Jensen Ackles) was responsible for killing Dad, and Mom did little to dissuade him. In fact, she insisted that Colter dodge his brother's calls. Several weeks later, the Shaw siblings reunited and cleared the air. Russell swore that he did not kill Dad; there was someone else in the woods that night, and whoever it was probably pushed Dad to his death. By then, we knew that Ashton spent seven years working as a covert government contractor. We also knew that he had enemies. Come Season 2, Colter and Russell were confronted by a government spook who knew an awful lot about Dad. And this week, younger sister Dory (Melissa Roxburgh) delivered Colter a file box full of Dad's research on zero point energy — a box that'd previously been left with Lizzy's mom, a former colleague with whom Ashton had an extramarital affair. Was it his research that got him killed? When Colter is finally reunited with Mary in the Season 2 finale, she insists that there's a lot she didn't know about her husband… but she also hasn't given her son a reason to believe her. At one point in the following promo, we see a teary-eyed Colter hold someone at gunpoint. Is it possible that Mom is staring down the barrel of his firearm? Watch the finale trailer above, then leave a comment and share your theories about Ashton Shaw's murder. Do you think we'll finally receive answers at the end of Season 2? The Neighborhood Will Introduce First Spinoff Character Sooner Than Anticipated — See Photos
The seeds are already being planted for Malcolm and Marty's potential exit from The Neighborhood. As previously reported, CBS is readying an offshoot of its long-running sitcom that would spin off the Butler Bros. A backdoor pilot will air as part of The Neighborhood's one-hour Season 7 finale (on Monday, May 5 at 8/7c) and introduce several new characters who would join Calvin and Tina's sons as they branch out on their own. He returned home and revealed to his family that he quit his job, but he clearly didn't know what he was going to do next. Following a one-week break, The Neighborhood Season 7 will resume on April 14 and introduce one of four new spinoff characters ahead of the backdoor pilot. In the episode, Malcolm attends an event for his creative writing program and scores a meeting with book agent Lisa, played by Life in Pieces alum Angelique Cabral. According to the official character breakdown, the 'impeccably dressed, high energy and unpredictable' Lisa 'seems genuinely passionate about Malcolm's writing talent, and hopes to take him to the top of the literary world.' Three weeks later, in the May 5 finale, Malcolm will graduate from USC and move to a new neighborhood, Venice, roughly 45 minutes from his longtime home of Pasadena. Marty will inevitably decide to join his big brother in Venice, and the episode will introduce the rest of the prospective spinoff cast — which, in addition to Cabral, Sheaun McKinney and Marcel Spears, will include Justin Long (Mom), Kara Royster (Pretty Little Liars) and Hunter King (Life in Pieces); additional character breakdowns can be found here. If the as-yet-untitled spinoff moves forward, it potentially would air Mondays at 8:30 pm this fall, behind the eighth and final season of the mothership. It is one of several comedies vying for the time slot, including the very-much-on the bubble Poppa's House, which wraps its first (and potentially only) season on April 28. A decision should be made by May 7, which is when CBS will reveal its 2025-26 primetime schedule.
