Tyler Allgeier fantasy football preview 2025: Stats, season outlook, predictions
Rotoworld Staff, Tyler Allgeier 2025 Fantasy Preview 2024: With protector Arthur Smith departed for Pittsburgh, Allgeier's 137 carries were a new career low by 49. He did recover in the efficiency department after a dismal 2023, goosing his average rush yards over expected from -0.33 to 0.61. It just didn't matter as Bijan Robinson was finally unleashed as an every-down menace. What's changed: Robinson is threatening for RB1 overall status, leaving Allgeier without standalone value since he is option two at the goal line and rarely catches passes. Outlook: Allgeier is a high-floor contingency back whose ceiling might not quite be what it seems since he has never been trusted to catch passes. Two Offensive Players That Can Step Up For The Falcons In 2025
Two Offensive Players That Can Step Up For The Falcons In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Falcons have their star players in Bijan Robinson and Drake London, but they also have some other players in the wide receiver and running back positions that can produce at a high level. Both Mooney and Allgeier have had 1,000-yard seasons either rushing or receiving, and as the second best in their positions on the Falcons, can get close to that mark this year. Advertisement Having a strong wide receiver two, and backup running back is monumental for a roster as they don't need to always rely on their stars. The Falcons have been relying heavily on Robinson and London, but now it is time to spread the wealth as much as possible. Tyler AllgeierJayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports Allgeier is entering his fourth season, will now be his third as a backup, but as a rookie he had a 1,035-yard season, and showed to be an impressive running back. Over the last few seasons, he has had 683 and 644 yards, which are very good for a guy averaging less than 200 carries in his last two years. Mooney is a guy who wants to win, and someone who is coming off a 992-yard campaign. He has had consistency issues over the last few years, but recently had his best season since 2021, and he looks to add on and improve in his sixth season. Advertisement There are other players like Ray-Ray McCloud who could step up next season and have a big year, but the main focus will be these two putting up numbers next to the Falcons' star players. In 2025 there will be a lot to prove as the Falcons want to make it back to the playoffs. The Falcons are going into 2025, with one of the best teams they have had in years and look to exceed expectations. Falcons expected to sign explosive UFL running back, per report
The Atlanta Falcons have one of the NFL's elite running back duos, and are expected to add another dynamic weapon to the group. According Pro Football Newsroom reporter James Larsen, the Falcons are signing UFL running back Jashaun Corbin to their roster. "Corbin led the UFL in rushing yards (514), with four touchdowns to his name," wrote Larsen. "Was one of the most electric playmakers in Payton Pardee's offense." Advertisement The former Florida State standout is the UFL-to-NFL signing of the year. He signed with the New York Giants after going undrafted in 2022, appearing in six games for the team in 2023. Corbin has just three career catches for 12 total receiving yards, and one rushing yard on his lone NFL carry. The Falcons have one of the NFL's top running backs in Bijan Robinson, who's coming off a career-high 1,456 rushing yards last season. The team also has former 1,000-yard back Tyler Allgeier, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Last year, Atlanta selected former Alabama running back Jase McClellan in the sixth round. The rookie appeared in just two games last season, rushing for 32 yards on 13 carries. Atlanta Falcons post-draft position preview: Running back
With most key players set to return in 2025, the Atlanta Falcons offense is primed for a big season. Aside from losing center Drew Dalman in free agency, this group has elite talent at every position. The running back position is by far the best example of this. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier have formed one of the most dangerous one-two punches of any backfield. Let's examine the team's running back room ahead of the 2025 NFL season in our latest post-draft position preview. RB Depth Chart (6): Bijan Robinson Tyler Allgeier Jase McClellan Carlos Washington Jr. Elijah Dotson Nathan Carter Advertisement Robinson and Allgeier are the only locks to make the roster, but Mclellan and Washington will firmly be in the mix. Dotson and Carter will have to ball out during training camp to play themselves onto the roster. This is arguably one of the most talented running back groups in the entire league. 2025 salary cap hits Robinson: $5,988,694 Allgeier: $1,183,472 McClellan: $1,008,592 Washington: $960,000 Dotson: $960,000 Carter: $845,000 For the amount of talent in the backfield, the Falcons are getting a major bargain. Allgeier and Robinson take up around $7.2 million of cap space combined. If you look at what some of the top backs make around the league, it's hard to find a better value in the NFL at running back. Top free agents available: JK Dobbins Nick Chubb Jamaal Williams Jeff Wilson Ameer Abdullah Advertisement Unless the Falcons are unhappy with McClellan and want a more experienced No. 3 running back, we think they'll stand pat with their current group. Adding a veteran like Jamaal Williams would make some sense, though. Predictions/expectations for 2025 Robinson just posted a career-high 1,456 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He should only get better with a more explosive passing attack to complement him in 2025. Allgeier is a perfect change-of-pace back whose bruising style wears out opposing defenders late in games. McClellan is a solid dual-threat option who should again serve as the No. 3 back. I like this group to top 2,000 combined rushing yards this season.
