Kim Soo Hyun's accuser Kim Se Ui slapped with ₩10 million fine in YouTuber Tzuyang case

In one of the most high-profile YouTube scandals rocking South Korea, controversial Garo Sero host Kim Se Ui has officially been hit where it hurts, his wallet. The Seoul High Court ruled that if he continues uploading defamatory videos about mukbang star Tzuyang (Park Jeong Won), he must pay a ₩10 million fine per clip. Malicious commentators & liars such as Kim Se Ui of GaroSero Research Institute and Kwon Young Chan should be severely punished. Kim Se Ui faces brutal court blow in Tzuyang case This comes after months of legal battles in which Tzuyang accused Kim Se Ui of blackmail, coercion, and privacy violations. It all began with a shady audio clip aired by Garo Sero, featuring two YouTubers allegedly discussing how to exploit her using personal details. Even after Tzuyang emotionally opened up about abuse from a former partner, the channel did not stop. Court issues serious warning after continued harassment While an earlier ruling acknowledged the damage caused, it did not result in any financial penalties, and that leniency clearly backfired. The new court decision stated that Kim Se Ui and Garo Sero continued to amplify harmful rumours, showing blatant disregard for the first ruling. The court said harsher measures were necessary to prevent repeated violations. Kim Se UI's new venture. 😂 Tzuyang's legal reappeal succeeded, and now Kim Se Ui must either back off or cough up serious cash. Kim Soo Hyun hits back with fresh lawsuit Meanwhile, actor Kim Soo Hyun is not sitting quietly either. He had already obtained a court order to seize two of Kim Se Ui's high-end properties, and on June 24, he filed an additional lawsuit against him. The charges? False accusations, fabricated audio evidence, and defamation involving actress Kim Sae Ron. His legal team claimed that Kim Se Ui, along with the late Kim Sae Ron's family, crossed the line by submitting forged recordings and filing baseless complaints under the Child Welfare Act. They called it a 'clear and serious case of false accusation' and confirmed that further legal proceedings are underway. Could jail time be next for Kim Se Ui? Kim Se Ui has already dodged two police summons, blaming his busy schedule during South Korea's presidential elections. But now that the political dust has settled, authorities are running out of patience. If he continues to ignore investigations, he could be looking at jail time. With both Tzuyang and Kim Soo Hyun going full throttle legally, the pressure is mounting fast, and the controversial YouTuber may finally be out of defences.

Kim Soo Hyun's accuser loses big in high-profile case against YouTuber Tzuyang; court slaps ₩10 million fine per video

K-drama actor Kim Soo Hyun has been caught in a legal battle with YouTuber Kim Se Ui and his channel Garo Sero, after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with actor Kim Sae Ron. Meanwhile, Kim Se Ui is also embroiled in a separate but similar legal battle with popular content creator Tzuyang, known for her mukkbang videos. Back in February 2025, Tzuyang filed a lawsuit accusing him of blackmail, coercion, and privacy breach, among other charges, which was reappealed in May. Despite dodging police summons twice, Kim Se Ui has now been hit with a major blow. As per Korean outlet My Daily, in a big win for Tzuyang (real name: Park Jeong Won), the Seoul High Court has ruled that Garo Sero Institute and the host must cough up ₩10 million (around $7,200) per video if they upload anything more about her. This came after the court found them repeatedly violating her privacy, even after an earlier warning. In the video, without her permission, they played an audio clip of other YouTubers, named Gujeok and Jujak Gambyeolsa, talking about how to blackmail her using private info. The clip has sensitive information about Tzuyang's personal life. In response, she went live and opened up about being abused and exploited by a former boyfriend. However, even after that, Garosero continued making defamatory content on the YouTuber's personal life, leading to Tzuyang filing a lawsuit accusing them of coercion, intimidation, and stalking law violations, and asked the court to order the deletion of all the videos. During the first trial in the house, the court acknowledged that some videos needed to be given, given that they were violating her privacy, but didn't impose a fine, and the case was closed. This time, the second court sided with her and said that since Garo Sero didn't stop even after the first verdict, a harsh step needed to be taken. The court stated, 'The defendants have continued to upload videos for the purpose of amplifying or reproducing related suspicions or rumours even after the first-instance ruling,' adding that 'there is a high likelihood they will repeatedly produce and post content violating the first-instance decision unless a separate indirect enforcement order is issued.' The legal war is still going on. The police earlier decided not to charge Kim Se Ui due to 'lack of evidence,'but the prosecution disagreed after Tzuyang challenged the ruling. The case has now been sent back for further investigation and is currently being handled by Gangnam Police. The YouTuber has already dodged two summons, citing his heavy schedule due to South Korea's presidential election, but now that it's over, he might have to face jail time if he fails to cooperate. Earlier, Kim and his agency, Gold Medalist, were granted a court order to seize Kim Se Ui's two posh apartments, meaning the YouTuber is already reeling from a financial blow. Kim had accused the YouTuber of similar charges to Tzuyang. On June 24, it was reported that the Queen of Tears star filed an additional lawsuit against him, citing false accusations and the distribution of fabricated evidence. His legal team released a statement saying, 'Kim Se Ui and the late Kim Sae Ron's family went beyond merely spreading false information based on a forged audio file; they even filed a criminal complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of false charges and violations of the Child Welfare Act. This is a clear and serious case of false accusation.' Recently, a lot of advertisers have filed a lawsuit against Kim, seeking damages caused by his controversies based on Kim Se Ui's evidence. His legal team has now approached the National Forensic Department and vowed to ensure those responsible are held accountable in accordance with the law. 'Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo Hyun have taken swift legal action by filing this additional lawsuit and criminal complaint against Kim Se Ui and the family of the late Kim Sae Ron. We will do everything we can to ensure that they are held fully accountable under the law and according to due process,' LKB & Partners said.

Seoul prosecutors charge duo with blackmail after YouTuber Tzuyang paid to silence threats over coerced past

SEOUL, May 10 — Two women have been charged with blackmailing popular mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang, real name Park Jeong-won, out of 216 million won (US$154,300) in a South Korean court, Korea JoongAng Daily reported yesterday. The blackmail charges, made under the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts, were issued on April 24 by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office for the women known only by their surnames. One was surnamed Song (32) and the other Kim (29). The blackmail allegedly took place between June 2021 and November 2022, when the women reportedly threatened to expose Tzuyang's past. In a video posted last year, Tzuyang revealed that her former agency CEO and ex-boyfriend, surnamed Lee, informed her of the women's threats. 'They're threatening to expose that you worked with them at an adult entertainment venue, so let's pay them off to keep them quiet,' Lee was quoted to have said. Tzuyang explained that she was coerced into working at the venue due to Lee's violence and intimidation. The women, who had no prior connection to her, allegedly used information from Lee to carry out their threats. A producer from Tzuyang's channel met with the women and reached an agreement. In return for silence, Tzuyang paid them 200 million won, disguised as an advance for a fake YouTube show deal, plus monthly payments of 6 million won. The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul launched an investigation in July 2024 after Tzuyang's producer filed a criminal complaint. Though arrest warrants for Kim and others were requested, the court denied them, citing insufficient evidence and no flight risk. The women were not detained but reportedly apologised to Tzuyang's team late last year. Despite their apology, prosecutors have proceeded with the indictment, stressing the seriousness of the crime due to the large sum involved. Joint blackmail carries harsher penalties than regular blackmail, which can lead to up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won. Kim Tae-yeon, Tzuyang's lawyer, stated that blackmailing public figures by threatening to release private information for money is a severe crime and that appropriate punishment is needed to prevent similar incidents.
