Conor McGregor Teases UFC Comeback (Yet Again) Amid Skepticism: WATCH

Conor McGregor, 37, announced he's undergone drug testing, aiming to re-enter the UFC after a leg break over four years ago. Another year, another Conor McGregor comeback update. Oh well, given the Irishman's history, take it with a pinch of salt. On Tuesday, the former UFC star announced that he has undergone drug testing—an essential step toward re-entering the UFC's anti-doping pool and making a sanctioned return to the Octagon. McGregor posted a video to social media wearing only his underwear and training, as he pointed to a small bandage near his shoulder, claiming it was from his first blood test in the process of getting cleared to fight again. 'I gave my first blood test, that's the plaster on my shoulder. I am ECSTATIC! I'm in SHAPE!" he wrote in a caption accompanying the video. Conor McGregor says he's officially back in the UFC's testing pool 👀'I gave my first blood test, that's what the plaster is on my shoulder. I am ECSTATIC! I'm in SHAPE!" 🎥 @TheNotoriousMMA — Championship Rounds (@ChampRDS) July 30, 2025 In the same flurry of posts, McGregor—sporting a mohawk—shared a video of himself shadowboxing, appearing lean and well-conditioned. McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has not fought since suffering a leg break in his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier—an injury that took place more than four years ago. He was expected to return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but withdrew due to a fractured baby toe. Now 37 years old, McGregor (yet again) appears eager to finally make a comeback. One potential target: a rumored UFC event at the White House, teased by U.S. President Donald Trump as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of American independence on July 4, 2026. More Headlines Outside the Cage Than In It For McGregor In recent years, McGregor has made more headlines for his legal troubles and online antics than for anything fight-related. His rap sheet includes a sexual assault liability conviction, multiple assault allegations, and a steady stream of social media controversies. Despite years of hints, promotional hype, and statements from UFC CEO Dana White, McGregor has remained far from a true return. So, is this the time McGregor finally steps back into the cage? Well, fans have grown wary after years of unfulfilled promises. So, you be the judge. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Conor McGregor comeback update: Ex-fighter claims drug test, then cackles in underwear

Of all the tales told about Conor McGregor comebacks, none have come true yet. So take this with a grain of salt, perhaps. The former UFC fighter said Tuesday he's been drug tested, a necessary step to get back into the anti-doping pool before another fight. McGregor posted a video on social media in his underwear, which is nothing impressive or new. But in this one, he showed off a small bandage near his shoulder he claimed is from his first drug test en route to another fight in the UFC. McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has not fought since he broke his leg in a second straight knockout loss to Dustin Poirier more than four years ago. He was supposed to return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but pulled out after he broke his baby toe. Most McGregor headlines have been about his brushes with the law; his liability conviction for a sexual assault outside his marriage; other sexual assault allegations; and just generally being an online presence enough for his clicks to stay up, but never being truly close to a return fight – despite anything he or UFC CEO Dana White ever said to the contrary. Will the umpteenth time be the charm for a McGregor return? Feel free to be the judge from his latest social media post, which included some interesting breathing exercises and a closing cackle.

Conor McGregor drug test update has everyone saying the same thing

Conor McGregor seems to be gearing up for a sensational return to the UFC, but fans remain sceptical. The 37-year-old MMA star hasn't stepped into the Octagon since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in 2021. He was all set for a comeback at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler last year, but an injury during training forced him to bow out. Many supporters have lost faith in witnessing the ex-dual-weight UFC champ make a return to fighting. Yet, in recent months, McGregor has been teasing the possibility of a major comeback, posting several videos showing him training intensely for a potential fight. Despite the flurry of training updates, one key detail seemed absent - a documented drug test. According to All Out Fighting, McGregor has barely been tested since his scrapped match with Chandler. On Tuesday night, McGregor took to social media, sharing clips and images of himself undergoing blood tests and providing a urine sample for drug testing. "I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder," he wrote alongside a video where he's seen exhaling towards the camera. I am ECSTATIC! I'm in SHAPE! #illtakeyourheadoffforreal #fullgrown @ufc #TheBig20." He also posted a photo of a blood testing kit on his Instagram story, along with snaps of his blood and urine samples being taken. In one picture, he's seen holding a cup of his sample, reports The Mirror. "I p*** excellence," he quipped. He later mentioned "blood tester on my yacht," before adding: "Blood from the shoulder." Despite these positive signs, fans remain sceptical. "I won't believe he's back until he's in the cage and the bell rings," one fan commented. Another stated: "He's not coming back," while a third responded: "Highly unlikely." Another fan remarked: "No he ain't. The fighting world has moved on." Conor McGregor (Image: Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) A further fan replied: "It's gotten to the point where I don't even care anymore and I was like his biggest fan." US president Donald Trump recently shocked the nation when he revealed plans to host a UFC event at the White House next year. McGregor himself is keen to compete at the event. It seems that the 37-year-old has everything mapped out as he targets two more UFC fights before transitioning to bare-knuckle boxing. This information comes from his business partner Dave Feldman - who is the president of BKFC, a promotion co-owned by McGregor. Feldman revealed that the Irishman has even re-entered the UFC testing pool. In a conversation with Ariel Helwani, Feldman confirmed McGregor's plan to fight next year. "He's got two fights left on his contract. He's got to get right," he said. The fighting world is abuzz with anticipation as Conor McGregor hints at a sensational return to the octagon. He confided to an insider, "The whole world is waiting. Is he going to get in shape and fight? He told me in person, he whispered in my ear, he said, 'I'm in the testing pool. I'm getting ready to make my comeback. I'm going to fight on that big card, then I'm going to have another fight, and then we can talk.'". Speculation about McGregor's next bout has intensified following Donald Trump's revelation of plans to host a UFC event at the White House, with fighters lining up to be part of this unprecedented occasion, including McGregor. In a patriotic social media post, the fighter expressed his excitement: "Happy 4th of July, USA. Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House! I would be honoured! Count me in! !" This enthusiasm was mirrored by UFC president Dana White, who, after hearing from McGregor about the potential White House event, couldn't hide his delight, replying, "I love it!". McGregor doubled down on his commitment while attending a recent BKFC event, stating confidently, "It's looking like I'm headed to the Oval Office again. That's where I'm headed next." Dana White has also teased the possibility of McGregor sharing the spotlight with ex-heavyweight champ Jon Jones, who has made a swift U-turn from retirement just days after hanging up his gloves. "McGregor has gotten himself to a point where he is and will be, whether he stops fighting or not, one of the biggest superstars in sports, period. He's gotten to a level of success in his life where he has to, I think, be motivated by something," White shared on the Full Send podcast.

Conor McGregor's latest fight update has convinced absolutely nobody

The Irishman has not fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 four years ago - but it seems as if McGregor's return is edging nearer Conor McGregor appears to be gearing up for a stunning UFC comeback - but fans are not convinced at all. ‌ The 37-year-old has not fought since his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. He was scheduled to make a comeback last year at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler, but had to withdraw due to an injury sustained during training. ‌ Many fans have given up hope of seeing the former dual-weight UFC champion back in the Octagon. However, over recent months, McGregor has been dropping hints about a potential blockbuster comeback. The 'Notorious' has shared numerous videos of himself training hard in preparation for a fight. ‌ Despite the regular training footage, one crucial element was missing - a recorded drug test. It appears that McGregor has hardly been tested since his cancelled bout with Chandler, reports All Out Fighting. On Tuesday evening, he posted a series of videos and photos showing him having blood taken and providing a urine sample to testers. "I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder," McGregor captioned a video of himself breathing into the camera. "I am ECSTATIC! I'm in SHAPE! #illtakeyourheadoffforreal #fullgrown @ufc #TheBig20." He also shared a photo of a blood testing kit on his Instagram story, along with images of his blood and urine samples being taken. In one snap, he can be seen holding a cup of his sample. "I p*** excellence," he said. In a subsequent comment, he mentioned "blood tester on my yacht," before adding: "Blood from the shoulder." Another fan replied: "It's gotten to the point were I don't even care anymore & I was like his biggest fan." Recently, US president Donald Trump stunned the nation when he unveiled his plans to host a UFC event at the White House next year. McGregor himself is eager to compete at the event. It appears that the 37-year-old has everything planned out as he aims for two more UFC fights before transitioning to bare-knuckle boxing. This information comes from his business partner Dave Feldman - who is the president of BKFC, a promotion co-owned by McGregor. ‌ Feldman disclosed that the Irishman has even re-entered the UFC testing pool. In a chat with Ariel Helwani, Feldman confirmed McGregor's plan to fight next year. "He's got two fights left on his contract. He's got to get right," he said. "The whole world is waiting. I'm going to fight on that big card, then I'm going to have another fight, and then we can talk.'" When is Conor McGregor's next fight? Following Trump's announcement of plans to stage a UFC event at the White House, numerous fighters quickly voiced their eagerness to compete on the historic card - McGregor among them. ‌ In a social media post, the 37-year-old wrote: "Happy 4th of July, USA. Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House! I would be honoured! Count me in!!" UFC chief Dana White appears enthusiastic about the concept after McGregor shared a private conversation with the 56-year-old. The Irishman sent the UFC boss several voice messages - apparently concerning the White House event - prompting White to respond: "I love it!". McGregor reinforced his stance during a recent BKFC event, declaring: "It's looking like I'm headed to the Oval Office again. That's where I'm headed next." White recently suggested that the 'Notorious' could feature alongside former heavyweight champion Jon Jones - who has emerged from retirement mere days after stepping away from the sport. "McGregor has gotten himself to a point where he is and will be, whether he stops fighting or not, one of the biggest superstars in sports, period. He's gotten to a level of success in his life where he has to, I think, be motivated by something," White told the Full Send podcast.

Jiri Prochazka set as backup for UFC 320's Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2

Jiri Prochazka already has a fight set for the main card of UFC 320, but will also serve as the backup fighter for the main event. On Oct. 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, former light heavyweight champion Prochazka (31-5-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has a matchup on the books against former title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr. The main event of the pay-per-view is a 205-pound title rematch between champ Magomed Ankalaev and former champ Alex Pereira. The UFC often labels a top contender as a backup fighter for a title fight in case something were to go wrong in the days ahead of the fight. Should the unthinkable happen, Prochazka will get the call. MMA Junkie confirmed the news following Prochazka's interview on "The Ariel Helwani Show." In this case, with Prochazka already being on the card, he will not make an unnecessary weight cut. However, he will have to make the championship weight of 205 pounds in order to be eligible to win the title. Through seven UFC fights, Prochazka has only needed to use the one-pound allowance for non-title fights once. Prochazka has history with one side of the main event, as he lost a vacant title fight to Pereira (12-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) at UFC 295, and failed to beat the Brazilian in a title rematch at UFC 303. The Czech Republic-born contender has not faced the current champion Ankalaev (21-1-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC). Should Prochazka not be needed as a backup, the fight against Rountree Jr. (14-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) could produce the next No. 1 contender. In his last outing, Prochazka rebounded from the second loss to Pereira by stopping Jamahal Hill in the third round at UFC 311.
