Florida man buys $10 scratch-off ticket at convenience store, wins $2 million
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man is now a millionaire after he bought a $10 scratch-off ticket at a convenience store.
The Florida Lottery announced Tuesday that 58-year-old Kelvin Staggers claimed a $2 million top prize from the ULTIMATE VIP CA$HWORD Scratch-Off game at the Lottery's Miami District Office.
Staggers chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,195,000.

The lottery said Staggers bought the $10 ticket at Sunshine, located at 801 NE 43rd Avenue in Homestead. The store received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The ULTIMATE VIP CA$HWORD scratch-off game is a word-themed game offering over $185 million in cash prizes.
According to the Florida Lottery's website, there are six top prizes of $2 million remaining. The game's overall odds are 1-in-3.37.
