TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man is now a millionaire after he bought a $10 scratch-off ticket at a convenience store.
The Florida Lottery announced Tuesday that 58-year-old Kelvin Staggers claimed a $2 million top prize from the ULTIMATE VIP CA$HWORD Scratch-Off game at the Lottery's Miami District Office.
Staggers chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,195,000.

The lottery said Staggers bought the $10 ticket at Sunshine, located at 801 NE 43rd Avenue in Homestead. The store received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The ULTIMATE VIP CA$HWORD scratch-off game is a word-themed game offering over $185 million in cash prizes.
According to the Florida Lottery's website, there are six top prizes of $2 million remaining. The game's overall odds are 1-in-3.37.

Two people won big on a Tuesday of Mega Millions, Jackpot Triple Play, Cash4Life and Fantasy 5 draw games, one of whom bought their ticket at a Publix. The next Mega Millions drawing, Friday, will have a $234 million jackpot and Friday's Jackpot Triple Play top prize will be up to $275,000. A New Jersey player won $1,000 a week for life in the Cash4Life drawing. Whoever chose the numbers 3, 6, 16, 24 and 29 for the Fantasy 5 evening draw while playing at the Boynton Beach Publix at 8780 Boynton Beach Blvd. won $101,093. MORE: Tickets from two Publix stores, one in Miami, split Sunday's lottery jackpot win This ticket has to be cashed at a Florida Lottery office, open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The West Palm Beach district office is in the Village of Palm Springs at 4360 Forest Hill Blvd. Appointments can be made, but aren't required, at WPBRC@ or 561-640-6190. By the way, Wednesday's Powerball jackpot will be $643 million.
