Ukrainian intelligence: China supplying chemicals, gunpowder and machinery to 20 Russian military plants
Ukrainian intelligence has evidence confirming that China is supplying special chemicals, gunpowder and machinery to 20 military facilities in Russia. Source: Oleh Ivashchenko, Head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, in an interview with Ukrinform Quote: "We have information that China is supplying machinery, special chemicals, gunpowder and components specifically to military-designated facilities. We have verified data concerning 20 Russian plants." Details: Ivashchenko said there were also at least five recorded instances of aircraft-related cooperation between Russia and China in 2024-2025, involving equipment, spare parts and documentation. In six cases, large volumes of special chemicals were delivered. He added that as of early 2025, 80% of the critical electronics used in Russian drones originated from China. These deliveries often involve relabelling, deceptive naming, and shell companies through which items required to manufacture microelectronics are shipped from China to Russia. Background: On 17 April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, citing intelligence reports, that China was supplying Russia with artillery and gunpowder and that Chinese actors were involved in manufacturing certain weapons on Russian territory. Officially, Beijing has denied providing lethal aid to either side in Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. China continues to present itself as a "neutral party" in the war, despite Western criticism that its close ties with Moscow provide Russia with crucial economic and diplomatic support. Ukraine's Foreign Minister at forum in Türkiye: World understands need for just end to Ukraine war
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, has said following his participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Türkiye that the world recognises the need to end the war in Ukraine in a fair manner. Source: Sybiha in an interview with Ukrinform Quote: "The key conclusion we can draw from bilateral and multilateral meetings, and from participation in discussion panels, is that everyone understands the need and importance of ending the war in Ukraine in a fair way. They support the achievement of a comprehensive and just peace for Ukraine, as well as the need to support Ukraine's efforts on this path to end this unprovoked war and stop Russian aggression." Details: Sybiha also noted that all of his interlocutors in Antalya recognise that "security in Ukraine, and the way this war against Ukraine ends, directly affects the security situation in other regions of the world – in Africa, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific". The minister added that he felt his interlocutors' support for Ukraine's "principled approach". He said he had held more than 20 meetings with representatives of African countries. The foreign minister said he had held more than 20 meetings with representatives of African countries. "We have huge potential in Africa. Despite the war, we have opened nine embassies there. We will increase our presence on the African continent because it is mutually beneficial. I am returning with a clear understanding of the specific areas that we will definitely strengthen. In terms of concrete results, it is also important that we have secured the decision of at least three African countries to stop accrediting their ambassadors through Moscow. This will change. It is a shameful practice. Consequently, this will lead to the strengthening and intensification of our bilateral relations," he said. Sybiha also called Türkiye one of Ukraine's most important strategic partners. "During meetings with Turkish representatives, we discussed security in the Black Sea and, potentially, Türkiye's participation in Ukraine's future security infrastructure and guarantees. We continue to count on Türkiye's active role in supporting our peace efforts. We welcome these efforts," the minister said. Reference: The Antalya Diplomatic Forum is taking place in Türkiye from 11–13 April. The theme of the forum is the restoration of diplomacy in a divided world. This year's forum is being attended by around 20 heads of state, more than 70 ministers (including 50 foreign ministers), approximately 60 high-level representatives of international organisations, and over 4,000 guests. Ukraine is represented at the forum by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Support Ukrainska Pravda on Patreon!

Source: Dr Serhii Yehorov, Head of the Intensive Care Unit of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Medical Centre for Family Health in Dnipro, in a comment to journalists, quoted by Ukrinform Quote: "The boy, unfortunately, is seriously injured; he has a very large injury, a penetrating wound of the abdominal cavity with damage to the gallbladder, liver, spleen, intestines and stomach. He underwent another surgery, but his condition is still unstable; it is serious and requires intensive care. It is likely that further surgery will be necessary. He is on a lung ventilator and cannot breathe on his own yet. We are trying to save the child's life." Details: A seven-year-old girl was also brought to the medical facility with the boy. Russians resume attacks near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast after brief lull
After a short period of relative calm, Russian forces have resumed attempts to improve their tactical position near the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast. Source: Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group, on the national joint 24/7 newscast, as reported by Ukrinform Quote: "As for the situation on the Pokrovsk front: the Russians were significantly exhausted over the past two months. During the first ten days of March, they took a sort of pause. During that time, the number of combat clashes in the area dropped sharply, but then it started to rise again. This means the Russians have simply recovered and are now resuming their attempts to improve their tactical position near Pokrovsk. However, the intensity has not reached the levels seen in February, simply because they physically have fewer troops. They have fewer soldiers and less equipment. The guys fighting on those fronts – Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad – are saying that there are fewer Russians." Details: Trehubov added that the Russians cannot abandon this front because it still plays a role in their strategic plans to control this part of Donetsk Oblast. The officer noted that Russian troops suffered heavy losses near Pokrovsk in January and February. Support Ukrainska Pravda on Patreon!

Trump's special envoy Kellogg: It's a question for Ukraine, what winning looks like
US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg has said that what victory looks like is a question for Ukraine, and called the cessation of active hostilities a priority. Source: Kellogg during discussions on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, quoted by Ukrinform Quote from Kellogg: "I think the question is, what does winning look like? And I think you have to ask yourselves this question. That's a Ukrainian question because you are fighting for your survival." Details: Kellogg stressed that the Ukrainians are fighting bravely and the sacrifices they have made are incredible. The special envoy noted that he saw this with his own eyes when he was in Izium and other cities in eastern Ukraine. At the same time, the US representative said that the first priority for peace is to end active hostilities. He compared it to being wounded in a war, when "the first thing you do is you stop the bleeding". Kellogg also noted that the peace process should take a long-term view. In this context, he mentioned Konrad Adenauer, who wanted to unite Germany, but it took some time to do so. The special envoy also recalled the experience of the Baltic states, which were invaded, but the United States never recognised this. Ultimately, Kellogg stressed, Ukraine must be a sovereign, stable, successful country. Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects Kellogg to visit the military on the line of contact in Ukraine. The US position on the peace talks foresees Ukraine's participation, but European representatives are not included. This position is completely different from the position of the EU countries, which state that a peace agreement without Europe is not an option. Keith Kellogg explained the division of roles in the US negotiations to end the war. Support UP or become our patron!
