Michigan football in the hunt for Georgia's four-star linebacker Anthony Davis Jr.
The Wolverines have been hitting the South hard in the 2026 recruiting cycle with a player already committed from Georgia, another from Florida, and another in Texas. And the maize and blue are working hard on several others in all three of those states. Grayson is a powerhouse high school in Loganville, Georgia, just east of Atlanta, that's produced some of the best talent in the country for decades. There are several prospects over the years that Michigan football has worked hard to bring into the fold, with the latest to actually come to Ann Arbor being standout right tackle Trente Jones. Advertisement Now there's another that the maize and blue strongly covet. But it's going to be difficult to pull him out of SEC country, given the other schools he's interested in. Michigan makes the top group for a four-star linebacker From said Loganville (Ga.) Grayson, four-star linebacker Anthony Davis Jr. revealed his final five schools in advance of taking his official visits starting on Friday. And the one outlier is Michigan football, with the other five hailing from the SEC footprint. The bad news for the Wolverines is that Davis is set to visit Auburn this week, Ole Miss next week, and Alabama on June 20. He's set to see Ann Arbor on June 13, giving the maize and blue a chance to overcome his other SEC finalists. Florida is not listed as having an official visit forthcoming, but he's been to Gainesville three times already. Ranking and more Davis is listed as the No. 174 overall prospect according to Rivals, which is the highest on the 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker. He's listed as a consensus four-star, with only On3 having him as a three-star in its proprietary rankings. Advertisement There are no predictions yet as to where Davis will end up at the next level. Jackson Cantwell, nation's top prospect, picks Miami over Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State
The nation's top prospect in the Class of 2026 has made a decision. Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell out of Nixa (Mo.) High School is headed to Miami, he announced in a ceremony at his school Tuesday afternoon. Cantwell, the highest-rated offensive lineman of the modern recruiting era, picked the Hurricanes over Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State. He always figured he'd play somewhere in the SEC or Big Ten, but has been adamant for the past several months that Miami would be in the mix. Now he's headed to Coral Gables, and coach Mario Cristobal — already known as a strong recruiter — has picked up arguably the biggest off-field win of his career. Advertisement 'Miami excites me a lot because they have an offensive-line oriented coach in Mario Cristobal. I like coach Cristobal a lot,' Cantwell said in December at the Under Armour All-America Game festivities in Florida. 'I think coach (Alex) Mirabal is a top-five O-line coach in the country. He does a fantastic job. He's been great developing. They always seem to have the right guys on that offensive line.' Cantwell originally planned to issue a commitment on April 30, but delayed his decision for a few weeks as he continued to search for clarity. He visited Oregon in late April and took a trip to Georgia last weekend, and coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs were believed to be the favorite. But Cantwell, who is represented by Rosenhaus Sports, opted for Miami, which has been aggressive with its name, image and likeness offerings, both with transfers and high school recruits. 'He's dominated on the field since he was a ninth grader,' said John Perry, the head coach at Nixa High. 'From the first time I saw him when he was, I guess, in the seventh grade, a long, lengthy tight end, I thought, 'Eh, maybe.' And then I met Dad. I don't know if he remembers. I met Dad in a barbecue restaurant. And y'all know how parents are. They're like, 'Man my son's a big kid. Might be something one day.' And I'm like, 'Yeah, I've heard that a few times, right?' But as it turned out, he did turn out to be something and something really special. He has earned every single bit of this. He's done everything in the world to give himself the opportunity to be in this situation.' Cantwell is Miami's first top-100 prospect and 10th overall commit in the 2026 class. He is the Canes' fourth offensive line commit, joining four-star tackle Ben Congdon, three-star tackle Joel Ervin and three-star interior lineman J.J. Sparks. Advertisement 'I watched (Miami) play against Duke,' Cantwell said in December, describing what he thought of the Hurricanes. 'Cam Ward had all the time to do basically whatever he wanted in there. He was rolling around for like 30 seconds. So to be able to have a guy do that, you've got to be able to have good pass protection up front. And they do a fantastic job. So that excites me about Miami's development.'

Penn State quarterback commit earns prestigious invite to Under Armour All-America Game
Penn State quarterback commit earns prestigious invite to Under Armour All-America Game Penn State football quarterback commit Troy Huhn will have an extra opportunity to put his talents on display next year. Huhn, who ranks as a 4-star in the 2026 class, earned an invite to the 2026 Under Armour All-American Game after being named one of the top performers at the Under Armour Los Angeles event last weekend. The event was part of a series of camps hosted by Under Armour, which helps select players to compete in the annual event, a showcase of some of the top high school talent. Though the details for the next All-America Game haven't been announced, it'll be the 18th edition of the event. Huhn becomes the first Penn State commitment to earn the honor since quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer, who appeared in the 2024 iteration. The 6-foot-4, 205 pound gunslinger ranks as the No. 19 quarterback and No. 29 California recruit in the class. Huhn has been committed to the Nittany Lions since June 2024 and has served as a foundational piece of the recruiting class, which is now up to 15 members and ranks No. 4 nationally and third in the Big Ten. The player rankings for the 2026 class haven't yet been finalized, and the All-America Game serves as a great opportunity to gain exposure in front of scouts while playing against some of the top recruits in the country. A strong showing could bump up Huhn's ranking.
