Texas A&M DL coach recently visited elite 2026 5-star DL, who will visit in June

Texas A&M DL coach recently visited elite 2026 5-star DL, who will visit in June Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class will continue to grow in the coming months, starting this summer when five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown returns to College Station on June 13. Throughout Brown's recruiting process, coach Mike Elko and defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie have continued to visit the Louisiana-based prospect, including Spencer's visit on Monday. During Brown's Track & Field meet, representing University Lab High School, Spencer watched on as the elite multi-sport athlete did his thing, as the Aggies are directly competing with the LSU Tigers down the stretch, which isn't surprising given the Tigers' historical success at keeping high ranking prospects in-state. Brown's relationship with both D-line coaches has been strengthened over the last year, which was proven during his recent interview with LSU reported Matt Moscono. 'There's not a day I don't talk to them,' Brown said. 'Coach (Mike) Elko, I talk to him every week. The D-line coach, Coach Tony (Jerod-Eddie), Coach (Sean Spencer), I just got off the phone with them not too long ago. That's three great people. Just great relationship with them ever since they started recruiting me. I've been down there a few times. I usually don't go to a lot of schools that much out of state, but that's a place I feel comfortable at myself. My parents feel comfortable there, honestly. The staff, the people, it's a great place.' While Brown is a slight favorite to land with the Tigers, the Aggies are gaining steam, as a commitment from the five-star would put A&M's 2026 class over the top and closer to ending with the No. 1-ranked cycle. Before his official visit, Brown's college position is still up for debate depending on the program he chooses, but for Elko and his staff, his future with Texas A&M is on the defensive line. According to 247Sports Composite, Brown is currently positioned as the 10th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked IOL, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Louisiana.
