For Real IDs, some license centers will be open Monday. Which centers are on that list
Six Pennsylvania driver license centers will be open Monday to issue Real ID cards. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver license centers typically are closed on Mondays, but selected centers will be open on March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to exclusively process Real ID requests. The new federally approved ID cards will be required to board commercial airline flights or enter a military base and other types of federal facilities beginning May 7. A Real ID is not required to drive, vote, visit the post office, access federal court, or apply for or receive federal benefits, such as social security. A sample Real ID is pictured above. A star in the upper right corner indicates the license is Real ID compliant. Centers open for the Real ID Day on March 31 will be: Meadville Driver License Center, 16942 Patricia Dr., Meadville. Uniontown Driver License Center, 855 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown. Schuylkill Haven Driver License Center, 972 East Main St., Schuylkill Haven. Milford Driver License Center, 201 West Hartford St., Route 6, Milford. Lawndale Driver License Center, 919-B Levick St., Philadelphia. Norristown Driver License Center, 1700 Markley St., Suite 30, Norristown. The following proofs of identification are required to obtain a Real ID: Proof of identity: Original or certified copy of your birth certificate with a raised or embossed seal, or a valid passport or passport card. Proof of social security: A social security card or a W-2 form, SSA-1099 form, non-SSA-1099 form or pay stub showing legal name and full social security number. Two proofs of current address: A Pennsylvania driver's license or ID, a Pennsylvania vehicle registration, auto insurance card, or utility bill with the same name and address. Proof of legal name change, if applicable: A certified marriage certificate, court order or adoption decree. Fee for the Real ID is $30 plus a renewal fee of $39.50 for a driver's license or $42.50 for a photo ID. The DMV says applications at most locations will take 15 business days and the Real IDs will come in the mail. If you go to one of 15 Real ID centers, you can get the Real IDs same day. Jordan Road bridge over I-90 to close in Harborcreek. Here are detour details
Traffic will be detoured from the Jordan Road bridge over Interstate 90 in Harborcreek beginning this month. The bridge will be demolished and replaced this year in a $5.2 million project. Interstate lanes will be closed at night once construction begins. Preliminary work will begin on Monday. The bridge is just south of Interstate 90 and carries about 850 vehicles daily. That traffic will be detoured onto Kuhl Road, Knowledge Parkway and Station Road beginning March 31. Lanes on the interstate below the bridge will be closed at night as the existing bridge is demolished and beams are placed for the new bridge. Electronic message signs will alert drivers. Drivers may encounter the lane closings between the Hammett/Parade Street and Wesleyville/Bayfront Connector exits Sundays through Fridays between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. beginning Monday.
