Minor kept four sharp weapons at home with mother's consent, both held by police

A minor along with his 20-year-old accomplice have been nabbed by the Pune city police for the alleged illegal possession of four sharp weapons at his residence in Gondhale Nagar, with the consent of his mother. As per officials the minor has been detained and his mother(35) along with the accomplice who has been identified as Vishwajeet alias Yash Ramchandra More have been arrested. The arrests followed a combing operation carried out in Hadapsar area between 11 pm of August 8 and 2 am of August 9 where police teams checked multiple history sheeters and suspicious persons during the operations. Cops nabbed the minor and his aide More as they were found moving suspiciously. A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the three accused persons at the Hadapsar police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 3(5) and sections of the Indian Arms Act on Saturday. During the investigation four sharp weapons were recovered from the minor's house. Senior police inspector Sanjay Mogale said, 'The minor had kept the weapons at his residence with the consent of his mother. So the mother has been made an accused in this case.' However, police confirmed that there was no previous criminal record of the minor and his accomplice. A probe is on to know why the accused persons were in possession of the weapons.

2 fall into Vasai RMC plant's 30ft well, ‘choke to death'

Vasai: Two UP natives died after falling into a 30ft-deep well on the premises of a ready mix concrete (RMC) plant that is yet to commence operations in Naigaon, Vasai taluka, on May 2. It is suspected that they suffocated to death. A 25-year-old man who attempted to rescue them sustained injuries. Police said they have lodged an accidental death report and are investigating what the two victims—Vishwajeet Harishchandra Rajbhar (20) and Rajan Surendra Rajbhar (24), who resided in Naigaon—were doing inside the premises. The initial investigation indicated that the two had entered the plot in search of some rope on the evening of May 2. It wasn't clear if the well had been left uncovered or the two had removed the lid, and when it was dug up. Police are also ascertaining where Vishwajeet and Rajan worked.
