Sharjah HR holds dialogue on building workplace success
Enhancing productivity through self-development The session addressed key themes around developing capacities within professional environments, distinguishing between personal and professional growth, and explaining how both are essential for success. It also explored how self-improvement positively impacts productivity, performance, and adaptability in the face of evolving technologies and workplace dynamics. Practical insights and leadership vision Real-life examples were shared to demonstrate how capacity development fuels career growth, while the importance of training programmes in helping employees keep pace with emerging requirements was emphasised. His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Human Resources, stressed that personal and professional development are fundamental to creating a workforce ready to navigate the fast-changing business environment. This session is part of the ongoing 'Visions for Sustainable Leadership' series launched last year by the department. The initiative reflects the emirate's commitment to excellence in human capital development, institutional performance, and fostering innovation in government work.

Fourth SHRD government excellence session at Safari Sharjah
Leadership and collaboration The session brought together directors, officials, and workers from government bodies throughout the central and eastern regions and was led by Lt Col Dr Amina Yousif Al Naqbi, Director of Institutional Development at the Eastern Region Police Department. Its primary goal was to improve long-term public sector leadership and performance. Ongoing excellence initiative This event is part of the HR Department's "Visions for Sustainable Leadership" series, which debuted last year to encourage innovation, quality, and better work conditions in Sharjah's public institutions. It is the fourth of a planned series for 2025. Innovation and competitiveness Key themes covered were senior leadership's role in fostering an excellence culture, the importance of innovation as a driver of institutional growth, and how healthy competition may improve performance across government agencies. Overcoming challenges The session discussed possible impediments to institutional excellence and offered practical solutions. It also emphasised employee participation, boosting team spirit, initiative, empowerment, and incorporating principles such as quality and transparency into the institutional culture. Highlighting best practices Participants explored success stories when implementing excellence models, highlighting their influence on performance and customer satisfaction. An open debate ensued, with people exchanging ideas and development recommendations. Interactive close The programme culminates with an interactive Q&A session sponsored by the Sharjah Driving Institute to further engage attendees and promote institutional excellence. The project aims to motivate government talent to embrace continuous improvement, in keeping with Sharjah's goal for a forward-thinking and proactive administration.
