Vintage cars roll into Bridlington for beach races
Vintage vehicles have rolled into a seaside town as part of a festival of speed. Race the Waves will see cars, trucks and motorcycles race over a 200-yard course on Bridlington South Beach in East Yorkshire. Some of the vehicles have paraded on Church Green in the town ahead of the racing, which starts on Saturday. The event finishes on Sunday. Bridlington Kite Festival 2025: Everything you need to know
Thousands of people are expected to flock to the East Yorkshire coast to see some of the world's largest inflatable Bridlington Kite Festival, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, will take place on 17 and 18 event will include displays and demonstrations of kites of all descriptions, sizes and colours flying over Bridlington Toes, tourism, events and projects manager at Visit East Yorkshire, said: ''This event has grown into a beloved tradition, bringing together families and kite enthusiasts from all over to enjoy the spectacular displays and vibrant atmosphere." The kites are the main attraction - from bears to snakes, all manner of inflatables will be in the skies over addition to the professional demonstrations, visitors will be able to have a go themselves during supervised sessions or by buying a kite from one of the stalls. Street food will be on sale and there will be fairground rides, face painting and other family activities. Do you need a ticket? Bridlington Kite Festival is one of the biggest annual events organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and is free entry. Dogs on leads are welcome to join in the festival hosts three charity stalls for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Bridlington Sea Cadets. How to get there? Vintage vehicles to return to Bridlington for Race the Waves festival
A festival that sees vintage vehicles race along an East Yorkshire beach returns this the Waves is a tribute to the past when beaches in Yorkshire were used for land speed record attempts. Cars will perform races in pairs over a 200-yard course on Bridlington's South Beach. Motorcycles will race in groups of four or event, which is free to attend, was first held in the town in 2018. This year's festival takes place from 12 to 15 June.
