Linkin Park Blocked From A Historic No. 1 Hit
Linkin Park's 'Up From the Bottom' climbs to No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, blocked ... More from giving the band another No. 1 by Volbeat. HAMBURG, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 22: (EDITOR'S NOTE: alternative crop) Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong of Linkin Park perform at Barclays Arena on September 22, 2024 in Hamburg, Germany. (Photo by Joern Pollex/Redferns) Linkin Park's winning streak continues this week, thanks largely to the growing popularity of one single, which is on the rise across a handful of Billboard rankings. The group's latest cut 'Up From the Bottom' remains a major player at rock-focused radio stations in the United States at the moment. While the tune nearly earns the Grammy-winning act another No. 1, it's currently held back from claiming the top spot, but that could easily change in the coming days. 'Up From the Bottom' climbs to a new all-time high on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, which tallies the tracks that reach the largest total audience at stations focusing on the harder side of the genre. This frame, the cut ascends one space from No. 3 to No. 2. In the days or weeks ahead, there's a very good chance Linkin Park will notch another chart-topper — and in doing so, make history. So far, Linkin Park has scored a dozen No. 1s on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally. The group currently stands alone in ninth place on the list of the acts that have accrued the most champions. If the rockers can notch a lucky thirteenth leader, they will tie with Van Halen, Godsmack, and Disturbed, all of which jointly hold the record for the sixth-most rulers. 'By a Monster's Hand' by Volbeat leads the Mainstream Rock Airplay list for a second frame at the moment, and it is currently keeping Linkin Park from the summit. That track recently became Volbeat's eleventh No. 1, placing the act just one champion behind Linkin Park. 'Up From the Bottom' is also moving up on the Alternative Airplay chart, and just like on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally, it could soon advance to No. 1. This frame, it lifts from No. 5 to No. 3. Meanwhile, Linkin Park remains steady at No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay ranking with 'Up From the Bottom.' The single has now dominated that tally for five of the seven weeks it has spent somewhere on that roster. Meanwhile, 'By a Monster's Hand' rises to a new peak of No. 6 on that same list. While 'Up From the Bottom' continues climbing on radio, it slips on general consumption rankings. This frame, the track dips to No. 10 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and to No. 41 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs list.

Bruce Springsteen's New Single Took Its Time Becoming A Top 10
Bruce Springsteen's new single 'Repo Man' hits No. 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, ahead of his ... More massive Tracks II: The Lost Albums release. ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 15: Bruce Springsteen performs during the 2024 Festival on September 15, 2024 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. (Photo by) Bruce Springsteen is quickly working toward the release of one of the biggest projects of his career. On June 27, he will drop Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a collection of seven full-lengths that the rocker never shared, but recorded years ago during different phases of his career. Since announcing the ambitious effort, Springsteen has delivered a number of tunes from the upcoming albums, and his latest single has become a quick bestseller in the United States. 'Repo Man' is the latest Springsteen cut to arrive from Tracks II. The song currently appears at No. 10 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, meaning it is the tenth bestselling track in the U.S., at least on that one platform. While not brand new, the cut rockets into the highest tier today (May 16), joining several other exciting recent releases from names like Volbeat, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, and even Kesha within the uppermost region. Springsteen actually released 'Repo Man' on May 14. It has taken a few days for the track to become a strong seller in the U.S. Interestingly, it performs its best on Friday, which is the beginning of the tracking week and usually considered the busiest time for new releases. This is when Springsteen faces the most competition, and yet it seems his latest tune has finally taken off only now. 'Repo Man' is the fourth single from Tracks II released by Springsteen this spring. He has dropped one track from each from four different albums that will be part of the seven-full-length collection. He started with 'Rain in the River,' which will be featured on Perfect World. He followed that up with 'Blind Spot,' the first cut on The Streets of Philadelphia Sessions. Most recently on May 1, 'Faithless,' the title track from the album of the same name, arrived.

Volbeat Announce New Album and 2025 Tour, Unleash 'By a Monster's Hand': Stream
The post Volbeat Announce New Album and 2025 Tour, Unleash 'By a Monster's Hand': Stream appeared first on Consequence. Volbeat have announced a new album, God of Angels Trust, out June 6th, plus a massive world tour including a US leg with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside. First up, Volbeat will embark on a co-headlining Canadian tour with Three Days Grace in June. Then, the US outing will launch on July 17th in Denver and run through an August 22nd show in Tinley Park, Illinois. The Danish band will then hop back overseas for European/UK dates as part of an extensive 2025 itinerary in support of the new LP. Get Volbeat Tickets Here A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for the North American dates begins Wednesday (March 12th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code FUNKY. General ticket sales start Friday (March 14th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Along with news of the album and tour, Volbeat also offered up the single 'By a Monster's Hand.' The mid-tempo riffer has a Metallica 'Black Album' vibe with its combo of heavy grooves and melody, though the chorus climbs into power-metal range with its ascending lead guitars and epic vocal delivery from Michael Poulsen. Work on the new album, the follow-up to 2021's Servant of the Mind, began last summer during the band's year-long break from touring, as Poulsen recovered from throat surgery and played gigs with his death metal band, Asinhell. Molding many of the songs during rehearsals, Volbeat eventually hit the studio with longtime producer Jacob Hansen to record the 10 tracks that would become God of Angels Trust, which features lead guitarwork from touring axeman Flemming C. Lund. 'In the past, I've taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them,' said Poulsen in a press release. 'This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure I said, 'Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want. I can start with a chorus or do songs that are just a bunch of verses stacked on top of each other. Anything goes.' That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album.'
