When Sanjay Kapoor said he doesn't want to advise Shanaya before her debut: 'She's seen my ups and downs'

As Shanaya Kapoor gears up for her much-anticipated acting debut with Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan on July 11, her father, actor Sanjay Kapoor , once candidly spoke about how he doesn't feel the need to sit her down and offer advice—because she's lived the reality of the industry through his journey. "She's intelligent, and she's seen ..." In an earlier conversation with Timeout With Ankit, Sanjay reflected on the unpredictable nature of showbiz and how Shanaya has grown up observing both the highs and lows of their family's career graph. 'She's intelligent, and she's seen how I fought it out,' he said. 'It's not a bed of roses. One day you're at your peak, the next day you're sitting at home. But you shouldn't stop chasing your dream because of that fear.' Shanaya, who was initially set to debut under Karan Johar 's banner (a project that eventually didn't materialize), is now making her mark not just in Bollywood but also in the South with Vrushabha, a big-budget Telugu-Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal. "It becomes overconfidence" Sanjay also opened up about the nervousness actors feel before stepping onto a set, something he believes is natural, even for veterans. 'If you're not nervous, it means you're taking your stardom for granted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Why seniors are rushing to get this Internet box – here's why! While he acknowledged that it's a better time to be in the film industry today, with more opportunities and changing dynamics, he emphasized that passion, awareness, and hard work remain non-negotiable. As Shanaya's debut film Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan (co-starring Vikrant Massey ) prepares to hit the screens this Friday, the Kapoor family has come out in full support. Although Ananya Panday missed the premiere, she penned a heartfelt note for her 'beautiful bestie,' promising to catch it in theatres on Day 1. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan teaser: The teaser for Santosh Singh's Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, was released on Thursday. (Also Read: Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan first look: Vikrant Massey romances Shanaya Kapoor; internet says 'age difference is showing') Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan's teaser starts off with a shot of Vikrant wearing sunglasses and Shanaya with a blindfold on. The musical romance is described to explore the 'charm of first love, fleeting moments, and the ache of separation' in a press note. The teaser hints at a spontaneous meeting between two strangers turning into something more. Despite not revealing much, both characters are seen wearing blindfolds at different times. It ends with Vikrant asking Shanaya if it's safe to say that love is blind, given her situation. Shanaya's friends and family seemed happy that the budding actor was finally debuting. Her dad, Sanjay Kapoor, commented, 'Jai Mata Di,' and her mom, Maheep Kapoor, wrote, 'Love love love.' Her friend Navya Nanda wrote, 'Wohoooo Shan!!!' Anjini Dhawan commented with heart and star emojis. Fans were also intrigued, with one wondering, 'Is this an adaptation of 'the eyes have it'?' A fan commented, 'Finally Shanaya is entered the bollywood.' Another wrote, 'I have faith in this debut, she is going to kill it.' Some loved Vishal Mishra's music, while others thought both actors had 'charm'. Presented by Zee Studios and Mini Films, and produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla. Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor headline the film that will be released on 11 July. This film will mark Shanaya's debut. She also stars in Mohanlal-starrer Vrushabha, which will be released on 16 October and Tu Yaa Main with Adarsh Gourav, which will be released on Valentine's Day next year.
