Mandopop singer Wakin Chau to perform in Singapore this July
Mandopop legend Wakin Chau, 64, will return to Singapore this July for a one-night concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Titled The Younger Me Concerts 3.0, the show comes a year after his last performance in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands. Chau will be delighting concertgoers on Jul 19 with nostalgic tunes such as Friends and The Flowery Heart. There will be two presale sessions for the show: The first will be for Mastercard holders from 2pm on May 14 to 12pm on May 15; the second will be for Live Nation members from 2pm on May 15 to 12pm on May 16. General sales will then start at 2pm on May 16. In a career spanning close to four decades, Chau has released a bevy of evergreen Mandopop tunes. Speaking about his latest concert, Chau said: 'I've spent so many years constantly flying, performing for others... This time, I want to sing the songs that truly matter to me: The songs I want to sing for myself.'

Taiwan-based singer Wakin Chau's new tour will focus on the roots of his artistry. PHOTO: LIVE NATION SINGAPORE SINGAPORE – Two years after his last show here, Mandopop star Wakin Chau will return for a concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on July 19. Tickets are priced from $138 to $288 via Ticketmaster and will go on sale from May 14. The Taiwan-based singer last performed at the same venue in 2023, as part of his Shao Nian Xia Ke tour, which translates to 'young knight' in English. Unlike the previous tour, which featured a classic martial arts theme and songs from period dramas such as Taiwan's The Heaven Sword And Dragon Saber (1994), Chau's The Younger Me Concerts Tour 3.0 will focus on the roots of his artistry instead, and promises to be more intimate and reflective. In a press statement , the 64-year-old fondly recalled his early days performing in Taiwan's folk cafes, with no elaborate lighting or grand effects, only faces in the crowd. He said: 'I have spent so many years constantly travelling overseas performing for others. 'But this time, I want to sing the songs that truly matter to me — the songs I want to sing for myself.' The new tour , billed as an 'elevated experience' and a 'stunning fusion of music and spectacle', is inspired by his most introspective album to date, The Younger Me (2019). It consists of tracks such as Sigmund Freud's Sake, Iceland and I Eat Therefore I Am. The Younger Me Concerts Tour 3.0 kicked off in the Chinese city of Changsha on April 12 . After the Singapore stop, it will continue to Chinese cities such as Foshan and Guiyang. Mastercard cardholders can buy tickets to the Singapore show through a pre-sale on May 14 from 2pm until May 15 at noon.
