SINGAPORE – Two years after his last show here, Mandopop star Wakin Chau will return for a concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on July 19.
Tickets are priced from $138 to $288 via Ticketmaster and will go on sale from May 14.
The Taiwan-based singer last performed at the same venue in 2023, as part of his Shao Nian Xia Ke tour, which translates to 'young knight' in English.
Unlike the previous tour, which featured a classic martial arts theme and songs from period dramas such as Taiwan's The Heaven Sword And Dragon Saber (1994), Chau's The Younger Me Concerts Tour 3.0 will focus on the roots of his artistry instead, and promises to be more intimate and reflective.
In a press statement , the 64-year-old fondly recalled his early days performing in Taiwan's folk cafes, with no elaborate lighting or grand effects, only faces in the crowd. He said: 'I have spent so many years constantly travelling overseas performing for others.
'But this time, I want to sing the songs that truly matter to me — the songs I want to sing for myself.'
The new tour , billed as an 'elevated experience' and a 'stunning fusion of music and spectacle', is inspired by his most introspective album to date, The Younger Me (2019). It consists of tracks such as Sigmund Freud's Sake, Iceland and I Eat Therefore I Am.
The Younger Me Concerts Tour 3.0 kicked off in the Chinese city of Changsha on April 12 . After the Singapore stop, it will continue to Chinese cities such as Foshan and Guiyang.

Chinese actress Zhao Lusi accuses agency of wage theft, threats

Popular Chinese actress Zhao Lusi has engaged in a war of words with her management agency Galaxy Cool Entertainment on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The 26-year-old, who shot to fame with period dramas such as The Romance Of Tiger And Rose (2020) and Love Like The Galaxy (2022), accused Galaxy Cool Entertainment of an unauthorised withdrawal of 2.05 million yuan (S$367,000) from her personal studio's account. She alleged the agency left her to shoulder financial burdens alone despite agreeing to take responsibility for cancelled endorsements, during the period in 2024 when she was seeking treatment for several health issues and depression. The 1.61m-tall actress' physical and mental condition took a toll due to overwork and, once, she weighed just 36kg. Photos of her in a wheelchair were also circulated on social media in December 2024. Zhao lost her ability to speak at one point. She also suffered from frequent episodes of nausea and dizziness, and joint pains. Her lengthy posts in Chinese also alleged disputes over control and unsuccessful termination negotiations. She claimed she was warned against speaking out, with threats that she could be blacklisted from the entertainment industry if she pursued legal action. 'You don't need to blacklist me, I quit,' Zhao wrote, urging her followers to report to the police should they face similar situations. Top stories Swipe. Select. Stay informed. It also urged the actress to avoid posting ambiguous content online that could lead to public misunderstanding. Zhao subsequently reposted the statement on her Weibo, refuting the agency's claims, and calling it out for leaving her alone when she was sick.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt Buys LA Mansion Bigger Than the White House for $110M

Eric Schmidt, the former Google CEO, has hit the headlines by purchasing a mansion bigger than the White House and one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal, in California, USA, for the price of $110 million. The sprawling property, located in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, covers 56,500 square feet and sits on nearly five acres of land. The property was originally built by television producer Aaron Spelling in 1990. X The mansion has had several owners one after another after that, with Schmidt as the most recent one. The recent sale has been one of the most expensive real estate deals in the US this year. Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates, represented the seller and broke the news on social media. Fenton also stated that this is the priciest market deal, along with one more Bel-Air property, this year. Eric Schmidt, who was Google's CEO from 2001 to 2011 and executive chairman from 2011 to 2015, has an estimated net worth of $25.5 billion. He and his wife plan to rename the estate "594," which refers to its address, Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates. The property was earlier known as Drew Fenton, CEO of Beverly Hills-based Carolwood Estates. While the price of the mansion sounds to be too high, the Schmidts have got it on a discounted rate, as it was once listed for $137.5 million after a long time on the market. In 2019 British heiress Petra Ecclestone, daughter of Formula One's Bernie Ecclestone, had purchased it for $120 million. The property has 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms, along with luxurious amenities like a two-lane bowling alley, a large wine cellar, a beauty salon with massage and tanning rooms, and a 20-seat screening room with massage and tanning rooms. It also has a 20-seat screening room with a 60-foot screen that retracts into the floor. It also includes a tennis court and a swimming pool built with 170,000 individual glass tiles. Schmidt and his wife plan to use the mansion for non-profit events and social gatherings linked to Los Angeles' cultural and charitable institutions. The couple also plans to renovate the property to make it more energy efficient. The home was constructed at the peak of Aaron Spelling's career when he produced hit TV shows like Charlie's Angels, Beverly Hills 90210, and Charmed. Now, in the hands of a tech billionaire, it differs and moves into another era: a mash-up of its glamorous past and vision for something very modern.
