Beloved EastEnders couple finally reunite but there's disaster ahead
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer. Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) have finally reunited – but there may be trouble ahead… It's about time these two settled down together, after clearly harbouring their feelings and trying to move on with other Albert Square residents. In the last week they've been somewhat forced together, what with the whole family disowning matriarch Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal). As viewers will recall, Suki had decided to conceal Ravi and Priya's daughter Avani's (Aaliyah James) pregnancy from them, in a bid to raise the child as her own. Suki's wife Eve (Heather Peace) was firmly against the idea, and knew that the decision had to come from Avani. When she opted to have a termination, she took her to the clinic. Back at home, Avani came clean to Ravi and Priya about her recent ordeal and Suki was in the firing line. Ultimately, the clan decided they couldn't stand by her after the troubling secret and all moved into Ravi's flat. In today's episode, Priya was quite enjoying the new set-up, and while not the most conventional, they were hoping a day out in the city would be just the ticket to lifting everyones spirits. However, outside, an undercover police office watched their property intently. Ravi clocked that something was afoot, and when he arrived at his now defunct restaurant Walford East, dealer Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) told him that their main base had been raided and he'd had to clear out the stash before it could be discovered. With other options exhausted, they were going to have to use Kojo Asare's (Dayo Koleosho) flat as their den. Kojo's best mate Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) was firmly against the idea, fearful that he could be deported back to Ghana if he was found to be in the possession of drugs. But Ravi wasn't taking no for an answer, he slammed a car bonnet down on Harry's hand and told him they had no choice. Later, Okie emotionally blackmailed Kojo into allowing him to use the flat. Priya was furious that Ravi had forgotten about their plans, and dragged him home for a serious conversation. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? She understood that losing the restaurant was a big deal for him, but firmly believed that they would be able to get by if he got onto the straight and narrow to support his children. More Trending Ravi noted that she was including herself in those plans, and leaned in for a kiss. Priya reciprocated, and the two soon headed to bed together. After an afternoon of passion, he assured her that he was committed to building a new life away from the criminal underworld, but of course he couldn't stick to his word! After contemplating telling Okie that their operation was off, Ravi realised that he had no option to continue. View More » Is Priya about to have her heart broken? EastEnders legend disowned by entire family in early BBC iPlayer release
This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer. The floor has fallen from beneath Suki Panesar-Unwin's (Balvinder Sopal) feet as Avani Nandra-Hart's (Aaliyah James) pregnancy was exposed to their family. It's been a whirlwind few weeks, ever since Avani got a positive test and confided in best mate Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) about her desire to have an abortion. She was terrified by the prospect of raising twisted Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) child, but her attempts at researching a clinic were spotted by Suki. Despite asserting that it could be Avani's only chance to have a child, the teen remained firm on her decision, and was prepared to open up to mum Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) and dad Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) about her ordeal. However, at the abortion clinic, Suki dealt a troubling offer – she would raise the child alongside wife Eve (Heather Peace), despite not consulting her about the matter. When Eve found out, she was furious but eventually warmed to the idea of being a parent, something she hadn't considered before. However, she could also see how much the pregnancy was already starting to have an impact on Avani's physical and mental health. She knew that Suki was pressuring her into giving birth, and wanted the decision to be Avani's. After a heart to heart, she had an abortion. The two then revealed all to an enraged Ravi and Priya – just as Suki walked in. In today's episode, Ravi implored his daughter to tell him who the father was – though Priya knew what problems that could cause and reassured their daughter that Joel needn't know if she didn't want him to. Suki desperately tried to build bridges with her family, telling Ravi that she was prepared to remortgage the Slaters' house to pay off the debts he owed at Walford East. But for once, Ravi was speechless. He had absolutely nothing to say to his step-mother, other than comparing her to his wicked, late father Nish (Navin Chowdhry). Regardless of Suki's offer, it seemed to be too late as an order to wind up the restaurant had already been issued. She then tried to turn the tables on Eve, saying that it was irresponsible of her to take a child to have such a major procedure without her parents' knowledge. Avani recently celebrated her 16th birthday on screen. She had lavish ideas for her party, which Ravi promised her despite his monetary issues. When Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) flushed 50k worth of drugs that Ravi planned to deal down the loo, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) stepped in with some damage control. He promised Ravi that Avani could have exclusive use of the nightclub – something which seemed to work. However, that night, Ravi told Harry that he had to repay his debts by pushing the narcotics on his behalf. Despite Avani being 16, actress Aaliyah James is a lot older. She turned 25 on 26th June. In response to Suki's desperation, Priya swanned into the room and slapped her, branding her 'poison'. She then chased after Ravi, who was on the warpath to find Joel. In their absence, Avani began to bleed, and Suki had to take her to the hospital. There, she confessed that she felt her ill health was a punishment from God for having a termination. Meanwhile, a blissfully unaware Ravi launched a verbal attack on Joel. When his dad Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) suggested that Avani may have slept with someone else – or multiple people – Ravi saw red. Ross' only saving grace was the fact news reached Priya that Avani had been hospitalised, and the two left. Later, Joel branded her 'weak and stupid' for making the decision without him. At the end of the day, Suki came home and found Eve, son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) and grandson Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) packing their bags and leaving. They were so disgusted by her behaviour that they couldn't bare to be under the same roof. For Eve, she said that Suki had opened her up to the hurt of believing that she could one day be a mother, and she doesn't know what they have left in their marriage. Is this the end of Sukeve, and what will Suki do without her family? This could well be leading up to somewhat of an absence for Suki, in the wake of losing her clan? We know that Balvinder Sopal is heading to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom this autumn, though she has confirmed that she will still be in Albert Square. EastEnders nightmare as Walford favourite takes drugs in horror scenes
EastEnders is lining up a horrific development in the ongoing dealing storyline, when Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) is handed drugs. As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) returned to the narcotics underworld when Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) stole a significant amount of cash from the family's businesses, effectively leaving them on the brink of bankruptcy. After receiving a contact – and a stark warning – from Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), he hid the stash in his car and employed associate Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) to distribute them. Ravi then made a deal with Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) to keep the vehicle in The Arches… and it wasn't long before the drugs were discovered by Kojo. Spooked by the situation, he took the drugs home and flushed them down the loo. Harry has since had to implement some damage control by working for Ravi and save his best mate's skin. Recent scenes have shown Okie lurking around Kojo's flat, adamant to use it as a base for his misbehaviour. In upcoming scenes, Ravi plans a family day out with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and their kids – but those plans are stunted when Okie reveals that the police have just raided their base. In a panic, Ravi decides to shift the whole operation into Kojo's flat, infuriating Harry. Back at home, Priya tears into Ravi for letting daughters Avani (Aaliyah James) down, but the row quickly turns into something a lot steamier. At long last! After, Ravi swears blind he's going to go straight and get their lives back on track. They even agree to give it another go. But with the bills stacking up and the tax man knocking at Walford East's door, it's not long before he's back in business, ramping up his drug deals behind Priya's back. Later in the week, it's Kojo's birthday and Harry's job is to keep him distracted from returning home. Over at The Vic, George (Colin Salmon) and the Knights are raising a glass for the birthday boy. But when George gets distracted, Kojo heads home – and walks straight into Okie's makeshift drugs den. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Panicking, Okie hands him a pill in the hope it will calm him down. More Trending George later finds his brother in a bad way, and things go from bad to worse when Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) shows up and clocks that Kojo's been using – and he has no choice but to arrest him. George, convinced Harry's behind the whole mess, goes digging for answers – pulling Nicola and his daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) into the drama in the process. And while Ravi orders Harry to get Kojo back onside, Harry plays the caring friend card, promising nothing bad will happen to him.
