NFL Players Go Viral For Chugging Miller Lites At Practice Thursday
NFL Players Go Viral For Chugging Miller Lites At Practice Thursday originally appeared on The Spun. This may be the most serious time of the year for NFL players other than the regular season itself, but that doesn't mean there can't be time for some fun. The Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have been having joint practice this week ahead of their preseason game this weekend. At one point during practice, some of the players on the sidelines taking a break got together and decided to enjoy some Miller Lite beers together. "Best pic of the summer: big men on both teams cracking open Miller Lites on the field after practice like they did in the 70s," NFL analyst Warren Sharp noted on X. According to Philadelphia sports reporter Ashlyn Sullivan, it was Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson who brought the brews. Following a successful surgery this week he decided to mark the occasion by bringing in a whole cooler of beer to share with his teammates and the Browns. "Landon Dickerson one day post surgery just brought out a cooler of Miller Lites to share with the #Browns OL… now that's a guys guy," Sullivan wrote. Fans loved it NFL fans found it very fun to see the players all getting together and having fun with some beers: "Ripping beers at work that's what I'm talking about!" one user declared. "All the boys say Hell Yeah," wrote another. "The best teams all have a good attitude to booze," a third wrote. "Offensive linemen are the best football players." "This is exactly what you want to see from your O-linemen." A few people complained that it was inappropriate, but many of those replies were written off as being a stick in the mud. But they did still make the point that the league will probably winding up fining Dickerson for that. But even if he does wind up a little lighter in the wallet, the players will probably say it was worth it. They might even reimburse him just for the fun memory. Where do the Commanders rank in wide receiver spending?
Terry McLaurin's holdout raises a much money are the Commanders spending on receivers in 2025? McLaurin, Washington's top receiver since being drafted in the 2019 NFL draft, is currently holding out as he has entered the last year of his contract. In 2022, at the age of 26, McLaurin and the Commanders came to an agreement on a three-year extension, which, according to guaranteed Terry $34,654,000 of his total contract value of $68,364,000. Thus, McLaurin's average salary for the extent of the contract through this season stands at $22,788,000. Deebo Samuel also takes a significant portion in 2025 with his contract. Spotrac has his total value as $17,545,529, and his guarantee at signing was $15,430,529. As a result of McLaurin holding out and speaking with the media for 32 minutes almost two weeks ago, the Commanders are basically being portrayed as unfair, low-balling, and disrespectful to McLaurin. But where do the Commanders actually rank in the NFL for 2025 in salary that will be paid out to their receivers? Warren Sharp unveiled the surprising news that the Commanders are actually committed to paying the fifth-highest amount of all 32 NFL teams to their receivers in 2025. NFL analyst buries Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers on tier list
When it comes to NFL smart guys, there aren't many smarter than Warren Sharp. So when he talks about players and projections, we listen. Sharp recently placed 38 NFL quarterbacks on his tier list based on his projections for the 2025 season. Needless to say, if we are talking about it, the news isn't great for the Pittsburgh Steelers and new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Sharp divided the quarterbacks into seven tiers from S+ down to F. Pretty standard stuff. As we pored over the list, seeing new Steelers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the D Tier was quite disheartening but not at all surprising. Advertisement Also of note, former Steelers starting quarterback Russell Wilson, who is now with the New York Giants, and Kenny Pickett, who is now with the Cleveland Browns, are both even worse, landing in the F Tier. But the biggest surprise? Justin Fields, who was the Steelers' starting quarterback to start the 2024 season and is now replacing Rodgers with the New York Jets, is in Sharp's A Tier. One note on this list. Sharp's intention with this list was to highlight these quarterbacks based on fantasy football production, but truth be told, this typically goes hand in hand for quarterbacks with team success. Top Analyst Reveals Mind-Blowing Steelers Stat from 2024 Season
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football dropped a mind-blowing stat on Monday afternoon, and it's not a good reflection of the Pittsburgh Steelers offense in 2024. 'This is REALLY hard to do, sounds almost impossible but … on the Steelers *own* opening drives of games last year, their opponents scored more TDs than the Steelers did,' Sharp wrote. 'Read that again, 0 TDs scored = Steelers offense (17 games) 1 TD allowed = Steelers QB threw pick-6. Yikes.' Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt picked off Russell Wilson for a 51-yard touchdown in the Week 13 game. Wilson bounced back, finishing with 414 yards passing and three touchdowns in a Steelers' 44-38 shootout win. Ironically, that was the best performance by the Steelers all year. Advertisement The Steelers allowed the most points (112) in the first quarter in 2024, according to Sharp. Despite struggling in the first quarter, the Steelers finished the season eighth in points allowed (20.4). To say the least, slow starts on both sides of the ball were a major issue for the Steelers last season. That's something that will need to be corrected this upcoming season. The Steelers ranked dead last in first quarter point differential last season (-3.9), according to Matt Williamson of Along with not scoring an opening drive touchdown in 2025, the Steelers went three-and-out nine times. They finished the regular season with a streak of six straight games started in that manner. Advertisement The last time the Steelers posted a touchdown on their first drive was Dec. 23, 2023, a 34-11 home win over Jake Browning and the Bengals. Pittsburgh began the 2024 season by managing only six Chris Boswell field goals against the Atlanta Falcons. Pittsburgh's initial offensive series in that one last 10 plays, gaining all of 31 yards and concluding on a 57-yard Boswell boot. Boswell capped six of the Steelers' opening drives with a made field goal, including four straight against the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets and New York Giants. He missed another from 58 yards out in a 24-19 loss at Cleveland on Nov. 21. The aforementioned march against the Cowboys spanned 11 plays and stretched 52 yards. The one against the Giants was 10 plays and 57 yards, with the latter figure being the longest of any initial drive for the Steelers this campaign. Pittsburgh ate up 5 minutes, 48 seconds in their first matchup against the Browns, the longest in that respect. Advertisement Brendan Howe contributed reporting for this story.
