NFL Players Go Viral For Chugging Miller Lites At Practice Thursday
This may be the most serious time of the year for NFL players other than the regular season itself, but that doesn't mean there can't be time for some fun.
The Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have been having joint practice this week ahead of their preseason game this weekend. At one point during practice, some of the players on the sidelines taking a break got together and decided to enjoy some Miller Lite beers together.
"Best pic of the summer: big men on both teams cracking open Miller Lites on the field after practice like they did in the 70s," NFL analyst Warren Sharp noted on X.
According to Philadelphia sports reporter Ashlyn Sullivan, it was Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson who brought the brews. Following a successful surgery this week he decided to mark the occasion by bringing in a whole cooler of beer to share with his teammates and the Browns.
"Landon Dickerson one day post surgery just brought out a cooler of Miller Lites to share with the #Browns OL… now that's a guys guy," Sullivan wrote.
Fans loved it
NFL fans found it very fun to see the players all getting together and having fun with some beers:
"Ripping beers at work that's what I'm talking about!" one user declared.
"All the boys say Hell Yeah," wrote another.
"The best teams all have a good attitude to booze," a third wrote.
"Offensive linemen are the best football players."
"This is exactly what you want to see from your O-linemen."
A few people complained that it was inappropriate, but many of those replies were written off as being a stick in the mud. But they did still make the point that the league will probably winding up fining Dickerson for that.
But even if he does wind up a little lighter in the wallet, the players will probably say it was worth it. They might even reimburse him just for the fun memory.

(AP) — Kévin Denkey scored early to spark a three-goal first half and FC Cincinnati hung on to beat the Portland Timbers 3-2 on Saturday night to take over first place in the Eastern Conference and Supporters' Shield races. Evander da Silva Ferreira scored against his former teammates in the 36th minute for a three-goal advantage. It was the 15th goal for Evander, matching his career high set last season with the Timbers. He had 24 goals and 19 assists in his two seasons in Portland. The Timbers (10-9-7) cut it to 3-1 by halftime when Kevin Kelsy scored two minutes later against his former team with an assist from Ariel Lassiter — his first of the season. Kelsy pulled Portland within a goal on a penalty kick — his first of the season — in the 68th minute. It was Kelsy's seventh goal — one more than he had for Cincinnati last season as a rookie. The PK was awarded after Juan Mosquera drew a foul on Stiven Jimenez. Roman Celantano totaled three saves for Cincinnati in the club's first trip to Portland. Maxime Crépeau saved two shots for the Timbers. Cincinnati has a league-high nine road wins — one more than expansion side San Diego FC. Cincinnati will host New York City FC on Saturday. Martín Ojeda extends goal contribution streak to 12 in Orlando City's 3-1 victory over Sporting KC
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Martín Ojeda made it 12 matches in a row with a goal contribution when he picked up an assist on Ramiro Enrique's go-ahead goal in the second half and Orlando City beat Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Saturday night. Ojeda earned his 14th assist of the season when Enrique scored for the seventh time, giving Orlando City (13-6-8) a 2-1 lead in the 76th minute. Ojeda tied Sebastian Giovinco's 12-match run for Toronto FC in 2018 for the second longest in league history. Josef Martínez set the record with a 15-match streak while playing for Atlanta United in 2019. Newcomer Tyrese Spicer needed just two minutes to score and give Orlando City the lead after weather delayed the start for 3 hours, 13 minutes. Spicer found the net for the first time in his first start and second appearance with the club after scoring twice in seven starts and 21 appearances for Toronto FC this season. Dejan Joveljic pulled Sporting KC (6-14-6) even in the 25th minute with an assist from Mason Toye — the first of his career. It was the team-high 14th netter for Joveljic in his first season with the club and one off his career high set last season for the defending champion Los Angeles Galaxy. Jarrett Stidham shines again as Broncos dominate Cardinals in 27-7 win
The Denver Broncos dominated the Arizona Cardinals with a 27-7 win in Week 2 of NFL preseason at Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday evening. The Broncos rested most starters, but coach Sean Payton made a few exceptions, including tight end Evan Engram. The veteran helped Denver march 97 yards on the team's opening drive with a 58-yard catch-and-run. After quarterback Jarrett Stidham then connected with rookie receiver Pat Bryant for 29 more yards, rookie running back RJ Harvey punched it in from eight yards out to give the Broncos an early 7-0 lead. Arizona matched that score with an 11-play, 67-yard drive that ended with quarterback Jacoby Brissett's 16-yard touchdown pass to receiver Simi Fehoko to tie the game at 7-7. Stidham later threw a touchdown pass of his own, connecting with receiver Troy Franklin on a 27-yard score to give the Broncos a 14-7 lead. After Denver's second score of the game, the Cardinals replaced Brissett with Clayton Tune at quarterback late in the first quarter. Lutz later converted a 35-yard field goal in the third quarter to extend the lead to 27-7. Sam Ehlinger took over at quarterback in the second half and he threw what would have been a touchdown pass to Caden Prieskorn late in the fourth quarter, but the tight end fumbled the ball and the Cardinals recovered it in the end zone for a touchback. It didn't take long for Denver to get the ball back and run out the clock, securing a 27-7 victory. On the injury front, backup offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo was carted off the field in the third quarter and was quickly ruled out with a knee injury. Gargiulo has been competing for a backup swing guard/center role. Outside linebacker Garrett Wilson also left in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.
