Britt Ekland believes next Bond girl should be a 'natural beauty'

Britt Ekland believes the next Bond girl should be should be chosen for her "natural beauty". The hunt is currently on for a new James Bond to take over from Daniel Craig - who stepped down from the role after his fifth film No Time To Die in 2021 - after long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson handed over control of the franchise to Amazon MGM Studios and The Man with the Golden Gun star Britt has now explained what the new Bond bosses need to look for in a female lead. She told The Times newspaper: "She should be attractive ... chosen for her natural beauty. And she should be athletic. "I think that's very important because the role generally involves running, jumping, a little bit of fighting. It involves moving your body." However, fellow former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko - who appeared opposite Craig in 2008's Quantum of Solace - told the publication choosing a new Bond girl has to be about more than just looks. She told the publication: "It's not just about the looks. What I see on Instagram is that girls are inspired to be as naked as they can be ... "A Bond girl doesn't take selfies. Her goal is thinking about strategy, about how she's going to complete her mission. "A Bond girl is witty, she's smart. She has her own agenda, she has a serious occupation, and that's what makes her sexy. It's not enough to just have an attractive face or a body if it's an empty vessel." It was recently suggested the James Bond franchise could return with an "origins" movie and a "very young" new star amid rumours 007 will be getting a massive shake-up with the character being taken back several decades. The rumour was shared by actor Daniel Mays who revealed he'd heard some details about what Amazon are planning for Bond. During an appearance on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast, he said: "Bond is a big deal right, that going to Amazon ... I heard a rumour they're going to cast someone very young and go sort of back to the origins. "They're going to sort of '60s, you're going to have all the retro cars and that sort of stuff - and start again. I think that would be kind of cool."

Rod Stewart 'noticing change' in wife Penny Lancaster after career move

Rod Stewart has shared his thoughts on his wife Penny Lancaster's career change as she became a special police constable a few years ago - and he's noticed a change in her Sir Rod Stewart has revealed that his wife Penny Lancaster has become more assertive since trading in her glitzy lifestyle for a uniform, having completed her training as a special police constable in 2021. Penny, who at 54 swapped the runway for policing duties, including prestigious occurrences such as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III's Coronation day, has seemingly taken her new role in her stride. ‌ In a candid chat with The Times, the beloved singer of Maggie May voiced his observations about Penny's professional pivot. ‌ With a hint of amusement, Sir Rod said: "I have noticed she's got more bossy since she's been a copper." He continued: "The kids have noticed, we've all noticed. She seems to think she knows everything now," reports the Express. Penny previously discussed how her switch in careers was initially met by scepticism from Rod and their sons. Recounting her family's initial reaction, she disclosed to The Times: "When I first told them the idea of joining, they thought I was absolutely mad. "And also, being young lads, my sons didn't think it was cool. But now they're so proud. It's a complete turnaround." ‌ She believed their opinions shifted after witnessing the transformation in her character, influenced by her policing experiences. Penny recounted: "To begin with they were like: 'Mum, you've become stricter. I don't like this'." ‌ Rod himself echoed the sentiment: "And even Rod would say: 'You've changed. You're more forceful, you're more this, you're more that'." Despite any initial doubts, according to Penny, Rod's support has been unwavering in her pursuit of law enforcement. "He's seen the dedication I have with the force and what it gives me back, as well as what I can give them," she revealed on Loose Women. ‌ Unfortunately, last year, Penny faced a setback in her role when a knee injury forced her to switch from frontline duties to desk work. The mum-of-two suffered a torn meniscus in her right knee during a trip abroad. ‌ Speaking about her career shift on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast last month, Penny delved into her experiences making arrests. She divulged: "I've been doing it for four years now so he's kind of got used to it and he's met a lot of my colleagues and he respects the amount of training I've done. "I have [arrested people], two people, for drink driving and drug driving. Every accident you have to test for drink and drugs. It is an adrenaline rush...I wasn't arresting on live TV." But now they're so proud, it's a complete turnaround." Penny believes their minds were swayed once they "heard the stories" of her policing experiences and saw the change in her demeanour. Myleene Klass issues warning to others after she rescued her baby girl who choked on £1 decoration

Speaking on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast this week, the 47-year-old presenter said the horrific incident left her 'hysterical.' "She choked on one of those dayglo stars you stick on the ceiling,' the ex Hear'Say star recalled. She credits her first aid training with saving her daughter's life - and now refuses to keep the decorations, sold for as little as £2 a pack, anywhere in the house. Asked whether the star had fallen from the ceiling, Myleene clarified: 'She found it. She was so little, she couldn't even speak.' "Not just because she was choking, she physically couldn't communicate what had happened.' Describing the moment she realised something was wrong, Myleene said her daughter 'stumbled' into the kitchen, "holding her throat", while she was doing the washing up. "Her face had gone blue and then she just dropped to the floor. It was the longest five minutes of my life," she explained. When someone is choking, it means that the oxygen supply to the lungs is obstructed, the first aiders explained. This in turn cuts off the supply of oxygen to the brain. The lack of oxygen to the brain has widespread ramifications for the rest of the body, which become more serious with every minute. Children First Aid: Choking If your child doesn't receive oxygen to their brain for one to four minutes, they'll lose consciousness, according to Headway, a brain injury charity. After three minutes, the neurons in their brain will get damaged. Permanent brain damage becomes much more likely after four minutes of your tot not being able to breathe. After 10 minutes, a child could slip into a coma and lasting brain damage becomes almost inevitable if their brain is still alive. Survival becomes almost impossible after 15 minutes. This is why it's imperative that parents learn choking first aid. 6 Myleene has first aid training Credit: stjohn_ambulance/Instagram 6 Thanks to her training, the pop star was able to save both her daughters lives Credit: stjohn_ambulance/Instagram Using her first aid knowlegde, Myleene sprung into action. 'I turned her upside down, well, not literally, but she was small enough that I could lay her across my forearm," she said. "I gave her a firm back blow and eventually she vomited it up,' she added. "Then she just toddled off as if nothing had happened. I was left a complete wreck.' Your sign to get trained Myleene's first aid training also helped her save her other daughter, Ava, during a choking incident when she was a tween. Both "terrfiying" experiences drove her to earn a more professional qualification with St John Ambulance, she said. In a post she shared on Instagram in June of herself doing the training and wearing the first aid uniform, she wrote: "The only thing worse would have been not knowing what to do. "I had done first aid, but now I wanted to learn it to a more sort of professional level," she explained on the podast. "This might be your sign to get first aid trained." she added. 6 6 The five warning signs your child might be choking According to the NHS, choking is common in young children, especially during play or mealtimes. This is because they often explore objects by putting them in their mouths. Parents are advised to keep small items out of reach, cut food into small pieces, and familiarise themselves with first aid techniques.

Myleene Klass shares daughter's terrifying health ordeal after she 'turned blue'

Myleene Klass has shared a terrifying moment when her daughter, Hero, almost choked to death after finding a small item that she couldn't vocalise had got stuck in her throat Myleene Klass has revealed she was left "hysterical" after a harrowing experience in which her daughter, Hero, turned blue and collapsed from choking. The 47-year-old star opened up on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast about the chilling moment involving her child and a dayglo star. The singer and TV presenter, originally of Hear'Say fame, is a mum of three. She shares daughters Ava and Hero with ex-husband Graham Quinn, and a son, Apollo, with her current partner Simon Motson. ‌ This revelation comes amidst news that Myleene has become a certified first aider for St John Ambulance—a decision inspired by an earlier occasion in which she managed to prevent her daughters from choking. ‌ Recounting the distressing event, Myleene said: "Well, it was Hero when she was a baby. She choked on those... you know those dayglo stars that you stick on the ceiling? I can't have them in the house." When asked whether the star had fallen from the ceiling, Myleene clarified: "She found it. She couldn't speak—she was so little. She couldn't even... well, she couldn't speak because she was choking, but she couldn't even vocalise what had happened," she told OK!. Myleene went on to describe the terrifying moment of realisation, saying: "Because she stumbled in holding her like... she stumbled in. And she was so little, so she... she couldn't even speak properly anyway, and her face just went blue and then she just fell on the floor." She recalled that she had been doing the washing up in the kitchen when the incident occurred. After greeting her daughter, she endured what she described as the "longest five minutes of my life." ‌ Myleene said: "I turned her upside down—she was that right age—and I had done first aid, but now I wanted to learn it to a more sort of professional level." She clarified that she didn't mean 'literally' upside down, but rather that Hero was small enough to be supported along her forearm. In that position, Myleene gave her a firm pat to dislodge the object. She explained that the star didn't come out immediately, but Hero eventually vomited it up and then casually "toddled off", while Myleene was left in a state of hysteria. ‌ The NHS advises that choking in children typically occurs during play or mealtimes, as young ones often explore the world by putting items in their mouths. It emphasises that the best prevention is to keep small objects out of reach and to cut food into bite-sized pieces. However, despite precautions, a child may still choke. The NHS provides a detailed guide on how to respond in such situations, including instructions for administering back blows, chest thrusts, and abdominal thrusts, as well as steps to take if a child becomes unconscious.
