Southern Railway announces multiple Onam special trains to clear holiday rush

KOZHIKODE: Southern Railway has announced special trains for the Onam festival to clear the expected rush of passengers during the festive season. According to a statement from the zonal railway, Train No. 06119 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Kollam Weekly Express Special will depart Dr MGR Chennai Central at 3.10 p.m. on 27 August, 3 and 10 September (Wednesdays) and will reach Kollam at 6.40 a.m. the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 06120 Kollam – Dr MGR Chennai Central Weekly Express Special will depart Kollam at 10.40 a.m. on 28 August, 4 and 11 September (Thursdays) and will reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 3.30 a.m. the following day. These trains will have a coach composition of 15 AC Three Tier Economy Coaches and 2 Luggage-cum-Brake Vans. The trains will stop at Perambur, Thiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam North, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Karunagapalli and Sasthankotta. Train No. 06041 Mangaluru Jn – Thiruvananthapuram North Bi-Weekly Express Special will leave Mangaluru Jn at 7.30 p.m. on 21, 23, 28 and 30 August and 4, 6, 11 and 13 September (Thursdays and Saturdays), and will reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 8 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 06042 Thiruvananthapuram North – Mangaluru Jn Bi-Weekly Express Special will depart Thiruvananthapuram North at 5.15 p.m. on 22, 24, 29 and 31 August and 5, 7, 12 and 14 September (Fridays and Sundays), and will arrive at Mangaluru Jn at 6.30 a.m. the next day.

H ubballi: South Western Railway has decided to continue the service of the following weekly express special trains for the convenience of passengers and to clear the extra rush. The details of the extended services are as follows: Train No. 07333 SSS Hubballi–Vatva Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 15, will continue to run from June 22 to July 13. Train No. 07334 Vatva–SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 16, will continue to run from June 23 to July 14. Train No. 07323 SSS Hubballi–Banaras Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 28, will continue to run from July 5 to July 26. Train No. 07324 Banaras–SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to July 1, will continue to run from July 8 to July 29. Train No. 07315 SSS Hubballi–Muzaffarpur Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 23, will continue to run from June 30 to Aug 25. Train No. 07316 Muzaffarpur–SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to 26 June , will continue to run from July 3 to Aug 28. Train No. 07327 Belagavi–Mau Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 29, will continue to run from July 6 to Aug 31. Train No. 07328 Mau–Belagavi Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to July 2, will continue to run from July 9 to Sept 3. Train No. 07311 Vasco Da Gama–Muzaffarpur Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 23, will continue to run from June 30 to Aug 25. Train No. 07312 Muzaffarpur–Vasco Da Gama Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 26, will continue to run from July 3 to Aug 28. Train No. 06529 SMVT Bengaluru–Gomti Nagar Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 9, will continue to run from June 23 to Aug 25. Train No. 06530 Gomti Nagar–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 13, will continue to run from June 27 to Aug 29. Train No. 06563 Yesvantpur–Gaya Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 28, will continue to run from July 5 to July 26. Train No. 06564 Gaya–Yesvantpur Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 30, will continue to run from July 7 to July 28. Train No. 06211 Mysuru–Darbhanga Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 24, will continue to run from July 1 to Aug 26. Train No. 06212 Darbhanga–Mysuru Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 28, will continue to run from July 5 to Aug 30. Train No. 06281 Mysuru–Ajmer Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 14, will continue to run from July 5 to Aug 30. Train No. 06282 Ajmer–Mysuru Weekly Express Special, earlier notified to run up to June 16, will continue to run from July 7 to Sept 1, according to a press release.

East Coast Railway has notified the continuation of the running of Train Nos. 08581/08582 Visakhapatnam–SMVT Bengaluru–Visakhapatnam Weekly Special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers till June 30. These trains will continue to operate with their existing stoppages and timings, the release said. East Central Railway has notified the continuation of the running of Train Nos. 03251/03252 Danapur–SMVT Bengaluru–Danapur Bi-weekly Express Special and Train Nos. 03259/03260 Danapur–SMVT Bengaluru–Danapur Weekly Express Special to cater to the increased passenger demand. Accordingly Train No. 03251 Danapur–SMVT Bengaluru Bi-weekly Express Special, will now be extended from June 1 to 29. Similarly, Train No. 03252 SMVT Bengaluru–Danapur Bi-weekly Express Special, will now run from June 3 to July 1 Train No. 03259 Danapur–SMVT Bengaluru Weekly Express Special, will run from June 3 to 24. Likewise, Train No. 03260 SMVT Bengaluru–Danapur Weekly Express Special, will continue to run from June 5 to 26. South Central Railway has decided to permanently augment the coach composition of its Kondaveedu Express (Train No. 17211/17212) from 21 to 22 coaches and Amaravati Express trains (17225/17226) from 19 to 22 coaches., in a bid to enhance passenger capacity and cater to the growing demand
