This week, Personal Trainer Traycee Green from Pure Platinum was in the studio with News 13's Chris Marchand to discuss weight, muscle building, and endurance training. 'Weight loss is for people that want to shed a few pounds,' said Green. Green said losing weight is a balance of cardio, weights, and a balanced diet. Green said muscle building concentrates on increasing lean muscle mass. She also said it's for people who are doing bodybuilding, or to look more muscular. 'This one involves strength training, or otherwise known as resistance training,' said Green. 'It's crucial, you've got to have that protein, so instead of a balanced diet, it's more heavy on the protein.' Green said endurance training emphasizes cardiovascular fitness. 'This is for your marathon runners, your fitness athletes, it involves that,' said Green. 'It's to improve your heart health.' Green said endurance training helps with visceral fat. 'Your visceral fat is the fat around your organs,' said Green. 'Too much of that suffocates your organs; if you don't have enough, you need to protect your organs.' Endurance training involves cardio activities like running or walking to increase your heart rate. For more information, watch the interview above. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
