Thanks to this impressive performance, the Qatari team topped their group with 8 points, cementing their position as one of the favorites to win the title, after the team demonstrated a high level of technical skill and outstanding team spirit throughout the tournament. The Qatari team will face the winner of the match between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in the final, which will be held this evening. This is the first edition of the West Asian Volleyball Championship. Qatar had made it to the quarter-finals after topping Group B, following three consecutive wins in the group stage. They began their campaign with a 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia, followed by a 3-1 victory over Oman, before concluding the first round with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Kuwait in a highly competitive match. Qatar had topped their group with 8 points, cementing their position as one of the most prominent candidates for the title, thanks to the technical cohesion and collective brilliance the team have demonstrated throughout the tournament so far. In the other quarter-final matches, Saudi Arabia beat Jordan 3-0, while Oman also qualified for the semi-finals defeating the UAE 3-0. KUWAIT: Salwa Al-Sabah Club will host the West Asian Women's Volleyball Championship on December 1-14, 2025, Club President Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad announced on Sunday. Sheikha Naima had held a meeting with the President of the West Asian Volleyball Federation Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kawari at the Salwa Al-Sabah Club, in the presence of the Secretary General of the West Asian Federation Mohammed Salem Al-Kawari. 'It is not the first time that Salwa Club is hosting a continental tournament, and we have hosted many tournaments with the participation of Gulf, Arab, Asian and even international clubs,' Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad said. She thanked the Board of Directors of the West Asian Volleyball Federation for their confidence in Salwa Al-Sabah Club, and for entrusting it with the task of organizing the women's championship. Salwa Al-Sabah Club is ready to organize this event, especially in light of the experience gained by members of the club's committees through tournaments previously hosted in various games, she stressed. Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad pointed out that the work for the West Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship has already started, and will continue 'until this edition comes out in a way that befits the event, whether on the organizational or technical levels.'

KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Salwa Al-Sabah Club President Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad has announced that the club will host the West Asian Women's Clubs Volleyball Championship from December 1 to 14. The announcement followed a meeting with Ali Al-Kuwari, President of the West Asian Volleyball Federation, held at the Salwa Club headquarters. Also present was the Federation's Secretary-General, Mohammed Al-Kuwari. Sheikha Naima expressed her pride in Salwa Club's selection, stating: 'This is not the first time Salwa Club has hosted a continental championship. We have previously welcomed numerous events featuring clubs from the Gulf, the Arab world, Asia, and even international teams.' She extended her gratitude to the Board of Directors of the West Asian Federation, led by Ali Al-Kuwari, for their trust in Salwa Club and for assigning it the responsibility of organizing this prestigious women's tournament. She emphasized the club's readiness: 'Salwa Club and all its working committees are fully prepared to host this continental event. Our team has gained valuable experience through the successful organization of previous international tournaments across various sports.' Kuwait heads to Bahrain for inaugural West Asian Volleyball Championship

KUWAIT CITY, July 16: The Kuwaiti national volleyball team wrapped up its training camp in Tunisia and is scheduled to arrive in Bahrain today to take part in the inaugural West Asian Volleyball Championship, which begins tomorrow and runs through July 26. During the camp, Kuwait played three friendly matches — securing victories against Tunisia and Algeria, while losing their final match against Libya 3-1. The training camp successfully achieved its main objectives, particularly improving player readiness and fostering on-court cohesion. Under the guidance of Argentine head coach Julian Alvarez and assistant coach Zaid Al-Kazemi, the technical staff focused on boosting team chemistry, tactical understanding, and building the experience of the squad, which includes several promising young players. The squad features 14 players: Abdulaziz Najm, Yousef Mandil, Fahad Saad, Abdulnasser Al-Enezi, Abdullah Al-Enezi, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, Saud Al-Duwisan, Ahmed Al-Munayyes, Rashid Anbar, Athbi Malik, Fares Suleiman, Talal Abdulrazzaq, Ibrahim Mandil, and Abdulrahman Mohammed. Kuwait has been placed in Group A, alongside Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, while Group B includes Bahrain (the host), Jordan, the UAE, and Lebanon. Kuwait's campaign begins tomorrow against Oman, followed by a matchup with Saudi Arabia the next day. The team will then conclude its group stage fixtures on Monday with a crucial match against Qatar. The championship was initially scheduled for last year but was postponed to this summer in coordination with the International Volleyball Federation to ensure its inclusion in the official world rankings. According to Mohammed Salem Al-Kuwari, Secretary-General of the West Asian Volleyball Federation, this move aims to elevate the status of the participating teams and provide them with valuable technical and motivational momentum.
