Another stellar season for Marx and Tecumseh

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Throughout the Tri-State there are few players who amount to the success that Katelyn Marx has conjured up over the course of her school career. A 2-time state champion, the all-time single season hits leader in three different seasons and now potentially looking at an award to add to her collection – 2025 Indiana Miss Softball. Tecumseh shuts out West Vigo for fourth straight regional championship Another stellar season for Marx and Tecumseh, as they look for a 4th consecutive state finals appearance. The senior batted 5.44 with 56 hits and 43 runs scored while commanding the base paths – a big reason the Braves won 1A titles in both freshman and sophomore seasons. But before Marx heads off to Southern Indiana next year, her goal is to bring Tecumseh to a 2A title as they prepare for Semi-State. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. West Vigo Community Center hosts annual color run in support mental health awareness

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The West Vigo Community Center held their annual Color Run to kick off summer break for the kids. Nearly 30 kids participated in the half-mile long race filled with many color stations that included color powder, paint, and even slime. With the month of May being Mental Health Awareness month, the community center wanted to shed a light on mental health by having the run on the last day of the month, and to serve as a reminder for the kids there is always someone to talk to. 'The center is always here,' said David Elkins, the President of West Vigo Community Center. 'Just talk to somebody, if you have any problems. It's not good to have and keep everything inside. If they need anything or anybody to talk to the center is always here.' All of the proceeds from the event go to directly back into supporting the West Vigo Community Center. The center plans to host another color run event in the fall. Also, the West Vigo Community Center is hosting their golf scramble on June 27th. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. West Vigo High School holds new documentary screening.

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Wednesday evening, West Vigo High School hosted an event for a special film screening. Michael Husain, a West Vigo graduate, is an award-winning director who focuses on documentaries. Those who attended got to see his latest project called, 'The Waiting Game'. The film brings light to the American Basketball Association and its battle with the rise of the NBA and unanswered promises to their players. Husain said he remembers watching the ABA games when he was in high school. 'It was just a part of my childhood, and when I heard that they were struggling, the guys that I watched some of them were struggling,' said Husain. 'Well, that's a story that needs to be told.' Those who weren't able to make it to tonight's screening can watch it on the film's website. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
