Wrexham: Olly Pearson comes 4th in Britain's Got Talent 2025
Also known as 'Guitar Olly', he was the last of the 11 finalists to perform on tonight's show. The series was won by magic act Harry Moulding, who claimed the £250,000 prize and a spot at the Royal Variety show. Fellow North Walians Han & Fran, from Llandudno, finished ninth. Olly reached the final after earning a Golden Buzzer in both his audition and semi-final, and tonight (May 31) performed renditions of Wings' Live and Let Die, and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. He received a standing ovation from all four judges for his performance, and said afterwards: "That just felt like I was on top of the world. I don't know how to explain it." Bruno Tonioli said: "We all love a rock 'n' roll star, and you're one of them. You're a little Brian May." Alesha Dixon told him: "What a way to close the show. You're such a little superstar; you are so talented, it's ridiculous." Simon Cowell added: "You're absolutely technically brilliant. When we talk to you backstage, you're really, really shy, and then you get on stage with that guitar, and you're a completely different person. "Forget about your age; you're just a brilliant, brilliant musician, and you're gutsy." Amanda Holden said: "That was unbelievable. We forget that you're a kid. That was super professional and massively entertaining… once again, you did yourself proud." Olly, who was the last of the 11 finalists to perform tonight, is competing for the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show, and to win a £250,000 cash prize.

Detroit Red Wings' Marco Kasper excelling at World Championship
Given how well he played for the Detroit Red Wings in the second half, it comes as no surprise Marco Kasper is doing the same at the World Championship. The 21-year-old forward scored a goal and added an assist Monday to help push his native Austria past Slovakia, 3-2 in a shootout at Avicii Arena in Stockholm. Advertisement The output gave Kasper three points in three games in the round-robin part of the tournament, which runs through May 25 in Stockholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark. The victory earned Austria two points, after coming up short in matches against hockey powerhouses Finland and Sweden in earlier Group A action. Austria forward Marco Kasper celebrates with his teammates during the IIHF Men's Ice Hockey World Championship match between Austria and Slovakia at Avicii Arena in Stockholm, on May 12, 2025. Speaking on April 19, a couple days after the Wings' season ended, Kasper delved into the success he's had in his rookie NHL season. "I'm always doing by best to get better," he said. "I feel like I had a pretty good year but it's going to be really hard to come back. I always talk about, I'm trying to get better every day and that's something I will focus on this summer." Advertisement Short of the NHL playoffs – which the Wings missed for a ninth straight season – the World Championship is as good a competition as there is right now. The elite teams are loaded with NHL players – including, for Sweden, Wings Lucas Raymond and Simon Edvinsson; and for Germany, Moritz Seider – and once past the preliminary round, it's single-game elimination format. The U.S. was shutout, 3-0, by Switzerland. Kasper got the Austrians the lead at 7:33 of the first period when he had a hand in Schneider's goal. A few minutes later, Schneider returned the setup, finding Kasper at the blue line. Kasper eluded three Slovaks en route to making it 2-0 at 11:22 of the first period. Advertisement Kasper, the Wings' pick at No. 8 in 2022, had a splendid second half after starting out as a bit player. Under coach Todd McLellan, Kasper earned more ice time, and finished with 19 goals and 18 assists in 77 games. During the last month, he moved from wing to center, serving as the middleman on the second line between Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. Little Mix star Jade announces Dublin gig at 3Olympia this year
The BRIT Award winner, who had her start with The X Factor winning girl band Little Mix, will take to the stage of the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on October 8. It will come just weeks after the release of her hugely anticipated debut solo album, That's Showbiz Baby!, which is set to feature collaborations with RAYE, Lostboy and others. Tickets for her Dublin gig are set to go on sale Friday 23 May at 10am from Ticketmaster, with tickets priced from €37.65. "This album has been years in the making, so I'm beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it's coming out,' the singer said. "I'm very proud of That's Showbiz Baby! as a body of work and can't wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!" She was placed into girl group Little Mix after she auditioned for The X Factor in 2011, joining Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson, with the group going on to become the first and only girl group to ever win the UK series. The group went on hiatus in December 2021 following a hugely successful career with multiple chart-topping hits like 'Wings' and 'Shout Out to My Ex'. Jade Thirwall, who shortened her stage name to 'Jade' upon launching her solo career, won the BRIT Award for best pop act this year and performed her hit song 'Angel of My Dreams', which samples Sandie Shaw's Eurovision winning song 'Puppet on a String'. The song was named a top ten song of last year by The Guardian, DORK, Clash and NME and has accumulated over 100 million streams to date. The music video has been streamed 12 million times on YouTube, while her performance of the song at the BRIT Awards has been watched over two million times. She is set to perform at a variety of festivals this summer including Glastonbury, All Points East, Mighty Hoopla, TRNSMT and the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland.
