Telangana cops rescue 1,374 children from exploitation under Operation Muskaan-XI
A total of 1,374 children were rescued across Cyberabad area in Telangana in July under Operation Muskaan-XI, in a coordinated effort to trace missing minors and remove children from hazardous, exploitative rescue initiative led by the Women and Child Safety Wing of the Cyberabad Police targeted children engaged in begging, child labour, rag-picking and similar vulnerable part of the operation, 11 specialised teams were formed, each comprising one Sub-Inspector, three Police Constables and one Woman Police Constable in each sub-division, along with the Anti-Human Trafficking These teams carried out rescue operations in industries, shops, commercial establishments, and also conducted drives targeting children forced into begging. Details of rescued children were uploaded to the Darpan App, a tracking and monitoring platform for missing July 1 to July 31, a total of 1,374 children were rescued. Of these, 1,328 boys and 46 girls were found to be from within the state, while 440 boys and 20 girls were identified as belonging to other the total children rescued, 1,367 were found in child labour, one boy was found begging, one girl was reported to have run away from home, and five girls were rescued from orphan homes. A total of 1,321 children were handed over to their parents, while 53 were sent to shelter homes for further care and the course of Operation Muskaan-XI, 316 cases were registered under various sections relating to crimes against children, including Section 146 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sections 75 and 79 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Section 14 of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016, and Sections 17 and 18 of the Bonded Labour Act. A.P. police to launch ‘Operation Trace' to identify missing and kidnapped girls from August 1
The Andhra Pradesh police will launch 'Operation Trace' from August 1 to 31 to identify missing and kidnapped girls in the State, said Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta. The aim of the programme is to trace girls and reunite them with their families. The Women and Child Safety Wing will conduct the operation in association with the IGPs, DIGs and Superintendents of Police (SPs) and other officers across the State, the DGP said. Releasing the posters of Operation Trace, along with Additional DGP (Law and Order) N. Madhusudhan Reddy and Women and Child Safety Wing head and IGP B. Raja Kumari, at the A.P. Police headquarters on Thursday, the DGP said that police will constitute task force teams and collect data in all districts from August 1 to 3. The police officers will visit the shelter homes, enquire about the details of girls staying in NGO homes, verify their aadhaar cards, file FIRs, and speak with their family members. From August 10 to 31, the police teams will launch 'Find Her' programme and conduct searches in bus and railway stations, shrines and other places. 'Instructions have been given on top priority for 'Operation Trace' to identify the missing and kidnapped girls and inquire about the status of the cases,' Mr. Harish Kumar Gupta said. Police will trace the girls in the border check-posts, use facial recognition and Mission Vatsalya portal, reconnect them with their families through Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), provide counselling through NGOs and necessary medical aid to them, the DGP said. CID Women Protection Cell Superintendent of Police N. Sridevi Rao and other officers were alos present during the occasion.

Andhra DGP vows action against human traffickers
VIJAYAWADA: Marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta unveiled a poster with the message 'Human Trafficking is an Organised Crime – End the Exploitation' at the police headquarters in Mangalagiri on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, DGP Gupta called human trafficking a severe violation of human rights and personal freedom. He emphasised that the State police would take stringent action against traffickers with a zero-tolerance policy. Highlighting that July 30 is globally observed to raise awareness on this issue, Gupta said that women and children remain the most vulnerable. The DGP noted that a dedicated unit under the Women and Child Safety Wing is working to combat trafficking through strict enforcement, victim protection, and dismantling trafficking networks. The unit ensures prosecution of offenders and facilitates compensation and rehabilitation for victims. Citing recent convictions, Gupta said the department's efforts are yielding results. In Guntur's Pedakakani police station, an accused was sentenced to life and fined Rs 10,000. In Kadapa's Proddatur I-Town police station, a trafficker received seven years of rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 5,000 fine. He urged the public to report any trafficking-related information via helpline 112, the Shakti App, or WhatsApp (7993485111), assuring confidentiality. Anti-Human Trafficking Cells are now active in all 26 districts under the supervision of women police station house officers.

36 booked for indecent behaviour, 404 children rescued
Thirty-six individuals engaged in indecent behaviour in public were held during the week-long decoy operations carried out by the She Teams of Cyberabad Women and Child Safety Wing. Petty cases were booked against all offenders, who were subsequently counselled. A total of 121 decoy operations were conducted between July 21 and 26. The team also received 15 complaints from women through multiple channels. In an effort to promote awareness and prevent offences, 64 sensitisation programmes were held at various locations, alongside five counselling sessions conducted at the Women and Child Safety Wing. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit conducted awareness programmes covering topics such as child and human trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child rights, child marriages, child labour, cyber bullying, cyber frauds and emergency services. Approximately 130 individuals participated in these sessions held within the Cyberabad limits. Under Operation Muskan-XI, the unit rescued 404 children during the week, reuniting 390 of them with their families, while the remaining 14 were admitted to shelter homes. A total of 96 cases were registered as part of this initiative. Meanwhile, the Family Counselling Centre and CDEW Centre handled disputes involving around 30 families, primarily concerning marital discord. Reconciliation efforts were made to reunite spouses through guided counselling.

SHE Teams arrest 67 for indecent acts in Hyderabad; drive includes decoy operations & awareness sessions
HYDERABAD: SHE Teams arrested 67 men for indecent acts during its 100 decoy operations at malls, bus stops, colleges and IT corridors. This was part of a special drive launched by the Women and Child Safety Wing of Cyberabad police which intensified its outreach this week between July 6-11, recording significant interventions through its specialised units-SHE Teams, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and Bharosa centre. The teams also processed 29 complaints from women received via WhatsApp, Dial-100, direct walk-ins, and ran 51 awareness programmes along with four counselling sessions.
