Melanie Scrofano Returns to Syfy to Investigate Atypical Zombies in ‘Revival' Trailer

'Wynonna Earp' star Melanie Scrofano is returning to Syfy, this time to investigate atypical zombies in 'Revival.' In the trailer for 'Revival,' which premieres Thursday, June 12, Scrofano stars as a detective investigating what a rural Wisconsin town has dubbed 'Revival Day,' a miraculous day which saw the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. 'Hello, officer, I don't know what's going on,' a man emerging from a dark cemetery says to Scrofano, who looks onward at the deceased, horrified. Meanwhile, Scrofano is dealing with her own drama at home, as her daughter returns after going missing. 'Em, no one's seen you for weeks — dad's been freaking out; the dead have come back to life,' the detective tells her daughter. While the revived are not your typical zombies, the town quickly has their guard up, with leadership telling locals to report the whereabouts of the revived 'immediately to authorities,' and scientists discover that reviver tissue enables their cellular structure to regenerate, leading to a particularly spooky encounter for Scrofano. Though the revived look and act the same as they were when they were alive, there's something off about them, with one pair of parents telling authorities the child who returned as their recently murdered daughter is 'not our daughter.' 'She came back wrong,' the father says. The official logline for 'Revival' is as follows: 'On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the 'revived' appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she's left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.' You can watch the trailer for 'Revival' in the video above. 'Revival' premieres June 12 at 10 p.m. on Syfy, with new episodes streaming on Peacock the week after their Syfy debut. ‘Malcolm in the Middle' Revival Casts Original Stars Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield to Return

The Disney+ revival of 'Malcolm in the Middle' will see the returns of Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield, according to multiple media reports. The two stars will reprise their roles as Francis and Reese, respectively. However, the role of Dewey will now be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. The role of Dewey was originally played by Erik Per Sullivan, who has since stepped away from the industry. Ellsworth-Clark previously appeared in 'Fargo,' 'Wynonna Earp' and 'The Expanse.' In addition to Masterson, Berfield and Ellsworth-Clark, the revival will star Anthony Timpano ('Riverdale'), who will play Malcolm's youngest brother Jamie, and Vaughan Murrae ('Before I Change My Mind'), who will play Malcolm's youngest sibling Kelly, a new character who is the sixth child of this family. She is described as someone who is 'self-sufficient, gets good grades and already wiser than most of the family.' 'The Fabelmans' actor Keeley Karsten will play Malcolm's daughter, Leah, who has the same sarcastic sense of humor as her father, the 'same impulsiveness and the same frighteningly high intelligence as him.' However, Leah is also more sensitive and emotional than her father. Frankie Muniz will be returning in the titular role of Malcolm. As for this family's parents, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek are also returning to reprise their roles as Hal and Lois. Kiana Madeira, known for the 'Fear Street' franchise, will also play Malcolm's girlfriend, Tristan. The four-episode revival comes from Disney Branded Television. The comedy follows Malcolm and his daughter, who are sucked into their chaotic family during Hal and Lois' 40th wedding anniversary party. Production is set to begin shortly in Vancouver. Linwood Boomer, the original creator of the series, will return as the revival's writer and executive producer. Cranston will executive produce the series alongside Tracy Katsky of KatCo, Gail Berman and New Regency's Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye serve as co-executive producers. All episodes will be directed by Ken Kwapis. 20th Television and New Regency produce the series.
