Ryan Reynolds' rumoured 'X-Force' film to feature Wolverine, Cable and Storm in ensemble cast

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly developing an X-Force-inspired project following the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. Sources suggest the film, which has not yet been officially greenlit by Marvel Studios, will be separate from the X-Men reboot currently being written by Michael Lesslie. Reynolds is said to be working independently on the script, positioning Wade Wilson as part of a new team rather than leading another solo film. The project will reportedly include 'three or four' X-Men characters. Notably, Josh Brolin's Cable and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine are rumoured to return, alongside the unexpected inclusion of the MCU's Storm. The actor's past statements reinforce his desire to move Deadpool into more ensemble-driven stories. 'I have some pitches and ideas, but none of them centre on Deadpool,' he said. 'He is a great supporting or ensemble player. And I would always want Deadpool and Wolverine to be paired in some way.' Reynolds previously campaigned for an X-Force film during the 20th Century Fox era, which was shelved following the Disney acquisition. The original comic book X-Force team featured Deadpool, Wolverine, Archangel, Psylocke, and Fantomex under Rick Remender's run. Reynolds has dismissed further solo ventures, reaffirming that Deadpool should remain 'an outsider' to groups like the Avengers or X-Men.

Ryan Reynolds X-MEN Project Could Be an X-FORCE Movie — GeekTyrant

As we reported last week, Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds is already brainstorming a new Marvel Studios project, and while it won't be a traditional Deadpool movie, there's a chance that is could be an X-Force movie. In the initial report, we learned that Reynolds is developing a film where Deadpool would team up with 'three or four' X-Men characters. Notably, this movie is not connected to the X-Men reboot currently being written by Michael Lesslie. Instead, Reynolds is reportedly working independently from Marvel Studios, at least for now. Whether or not it ends up becoming an official MCU project is still up in the air, but given the box office success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel would be smart to find a way to make it happen. So what exactly is he working on? Well, according to noted scooper @MyTimeToShineH, it might be X-Force . That wouldn't come as a surprise to longtime fans. Reynolds has a history with the team and even played with an X-Force team in Deadpool 2 . Now, before the Disney-Fox merger, he had been actively developing an X-Force film, and many assumed it had died on the vine. Maybe not. Maybe he's now re-working that idea. In the comics, X-Force has always been the darker, messier counterpart to the traditional X-Men. Think of them as the sharp-edged solution to mutant problems the X-Men wouldn't touch. The Rick Remender run is a fan favorite, where Deadpool teamed up with Wolverine, Archangel, Psylocke, and Fantomex to take on morally complex missions. That sort of lineup and story arc could make for a great film. Back in December, Reynolds teased the future of Deadpool, saying: 'There are no updates to share just yet. But I trust Kevin and [Marvel exec] Lou D'Esposito with my life. The character trait I love most about Deadpool is that he's a fanboy. His enthusiasm and longing to be part of a team is really endearing to me. It's his overarching wish-fulfillment story.' But he made something else very clear: 'But I don't think he should ever be an Avenger or an X-Man. If he becomes either, we're at the end.' And when asked if that means turning down major crossover films like Avengers: Secret Wars, he clarified: 'Just the opposite! I think Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and Avengers, but he always needs to stay an outsider. His ultimate dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But he can't be accepted.' 'His coping mechanism of deflecting shame through humor works only when used to pave over his many inadequacies. If and when he does become an Avenger or X-Man, we're at the end of his journey.' This idea seems to drive Reynolds' current creative approach. He wants Deadpool to bounce off other characters, not lead the charge. 'I have some pitches and ideas, but none of them center on Deadpool. He is a great supporting or ensemble player. And I would always want Deadpool and Wolverine to be paired in some way.' Which brings us back to X-Force. As an ensemble piece that leans into the edgier, weirder side of the mutant world, it's the perfect playground for Deadpool's chaos. Whether Marvel sets this in the Multiverse, in a new continuity, or somewhere in between, it sounds like Reynolds is carving out a space for more mutant mayhem—with some familiar faces, if he gets his way. Will Hugh Jackman stick around long enough to team up again? Will the team pull from comic canon or spin up something entirely new? Time will tell. But one thing's clear, if this is where Reynolds is headed next, the fans would show up for it. Would you want to see an X-Force movie in the MCU? Who would be on your dream lineup?

Ryan Reynolds Teases New Deadpool Team Up Project

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Ryan Reynolds is working on what sounds very much like a new Deadpool team-up movie. While speaking to Time Magazine's Eliana Dockterman, Reynolds was asked about not only the future of Deadpool, but how Reynolds had previously said he thinks the Merc with a Mouth works better as a supporting character. Toward the end of his response, Reynolds said, "I'm writing a little something right now which is like an ensemble, but it's...I like it when he's isolated. If Deadpool becomes an Avenger or X-Men we're at the end and that's his wish fulfilment, and you can't give him that." Read More: New 'Thunderbolts' Clip Shows Team United Against Common Enemy All we know for the moment is that Reynolds is writing the project and that "it's an ensemble." We don't even know if this is something Marvel has green lit or it's something he's writing on spec. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine with Dogpool in "Deadpool & Wolverine." Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine with Dogpool in "Deadpool & Wolverine." DISNEY One possibility is that he's trying to recreate the "X-Force" movie that was never made. "Deadpool 2" was originally going to be followed by an "X-Force" film in which Deadpool would've been a supporting character, but that plan was changed by Disney's acquisition of Fox. We know from "Deadpool & Wolverine" that Deadpool's time travel shenanigans in "Deadpool 2" included resurrecting the X-Force members who died during their disastrous skydiving intro. Before mentioning the project he was working on, Reynolds left a possible hint in talking about good it felt to see audiences react to the return of Wesley Snipes as Blade in "Deadpool & Wolverine." "I was really grateful where we got to see people and characters like Blade with Wesley Snipes, who is a guy who should have a third act in this moment because he is a f---ing huge movie star," Reynolds said. "That feeling and the gasp that comes out of people when he crosses the frame in the movie is just a feeling I want more of and I think I'd be able to do that as the supporting actor." If his ensemble project is something he's writing in search of capturing that feeling, then that opens up all new possibilities. Is he hoping to do another movie with Snipes, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, etc? Or maybe reintroducing some characters we haven't seen come back? Ben Affleck as Daredevil? Eric Bana as the Hulk? Stop Using Your Password — 800 Million Stolen Passwords Listed Online

That passwords have reached their collective sell-by date is not new news. You only have to look at the growing threat from millions of devices infected by infostealer malware, threat actors employing automatic password hacking machines in attacks, and zero-day exploits specifically targeting Windows passwords, for proof of that. Here's the thing, even with two-factor authentication added to the login credentials mix, you are still not safe. 2FA bypass attacks, employing attacker-in-the middle and session cookie stealing tactics, weaken even that defense. As if that all wasn't worrying enough, I'm sorry to report that your password could already be compromised and available to hackers. Here's what you need to know, why you need to act now, and what action must be taken. Hackers don't break in, they log in. This, I'm sad to say, has increasingly become the reality for threat actors today. After all, why go to the trouble of finding vulnerabilities to exploit or using complex attack methodologies when there are readily available lists of compromised credentials out there to purchase? Heck, many of these lists are even available to download for free from criminal forums online. The culprit? The rise of infostealer malware. According to the latest IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index, published April 17, there has been an 84% increase in the number of infostealers being delivered by phishing emails per week. As well as the phishing tactics, X-Force analysts said that other increasingly popular attack vectors include 'SEO poisoning and Google Ads, drive-by attacks, and software supply chain compromises.' Early data for 2025, the X-Force report warned, has revealed an increase of 180% in the infostealer delivery threat compared to 2023. 'This upward trend fueling follow-on account takeovers,' it stated, 'may be attributed to attackers leveraging AI to create phishing emails at scale.' What's more, these are not just idle threats, for want of a better term. They are incredibly effective. In 2024, the X-Force report confirmed that some eight million adverts on the dark web and in criminal forums, each containing lists of hundreds of stolen credentials, were found in relation to the top five infostealer malware threats. That's at least 800 million passwords, likely more, listed online and represents just the tip of this nefarious cyber-iceberg. With the same threat actors that are distributing these lists of stolen passwords also selling custom adversary-in-the-middle attack services to bypass 2FA protections, according to the X-Force researchers, there is little doubt that you need to take action, and take it now. The good news is that it's pretty easy to protect yourself against both threats, and highly effective once that protection is in place. Better still, you get increased protection against criminal hackers while, at the same time, getting a more straightforward method of securely signing in to your accounts. It really is a win-win situation. So, what is the solution: stop using passwords, use passkeys instead. A Google spokesperson told me that its internal research has revealed 'security keys provide a stronger protection against automated bots, bulk phishing attacks, and targeted attacks than SMS, app-based one-time passwords, and other forms of traditional two-factor authentication.' The same message can be heard in the advice that a Microsoft spokesperson provided. 'We recommend switching to Passkeys wherever possible and using authentication apps such as Microsoft Authenticator, which warn users about potential phishing attempts.'

Cybersecurity: Which are Europe's most vulnerable countries?

Global cybersecurity is under threat increasing threat. The number of worldwide cloud vulnerabilities - meaning potential weak points in systems - more than doubled in just four years, rising from 1,700 to 3,900, according to research by IBM's X-Force. The analysis was carried out between 2019 and 2023 by tracking various cloud platforms and services worldwide and not just IBM's. Europe's cybersecurity soft underbelly, meanwhile, appears to be the Balkans according to new research. A recently compiled ranking by cloud security company Kloudle named Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Albania as the most vulnerable nations in the continent to cloud security breaches. With a 71% risk score, the most vulnerable of all is Bosnia and Herzegovina. It experienced nearly nine million cloud breaches in the past two decades and is the most exposed country compared to its size. It also has the lowest cybersecurity preparedness score. Bosnia is followed by Serbia and Albania, who have an overall risk score of 69% and 67%, respectively. Serbia and Albania both had much higher levels of preparedness, however. Related Looking for a job in IT? These European countries are desperate for new hires The UK placed fourth in terms of overall risks due to the high number of estimated cloud breaches in the past two decades - over one billion. Italy is the other big European economy among the countries most at risk, with nearly 800 million estimated breaches. Italy can however count on a high level of preparedness, for which it scored 88 out of 100. "The vulnerabilities exposed in countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia highlight the critical gaps in cybersecurity infrastructure that need immediate attention," says Kloudle CEO and founder Akash Mahajan. "We must prioritise cybersecurity education and implement robust data protection measures as we continue to rely more heavily on cloud technologies. These include regular security audits, employee training programs and adopting advanced encryption technologies."
