Ex-Kaizer Chiefs man:Bobby ignored me on Fiston Mayele in 2022

Kaizer Chiefs are on a mission to sign a top striker for coach Nasreddine Nabi ahead of the 2025/26 season. Chiefs coach Nabi is rumoured to have gone on a trip to Egypt to convince Fiston Mayele to join him at Amakhosi. This comes after Nabi had reportedly done the same with another top target in Feisal Salum of Azam FC. The Chiefs mentor previously worked with both players at Yanga and now wants a reunion with them at the Glamour Boys. A former Amakhosi striker, who has been there and seen it all before previously tried to tip the club off on Mayele . Kanga Nzenza who turned out for Chiefs in the 1990's says he tried contacting Bobby Motaung numerous times. The first time being after seeing what Mayele was doing for Yanga under Nabi while in Tanzania. He says he was ignored by the 'ever-busy' Amakhosi club official. 'I once advised Chiefs to acquire Mayele. Just look at what he is doing now. I was clear that Chiefs needed to sign him because he has the ability to do well here. He can blend well with the Chiefs players and has been performing well, even though he may not be in top form at the moment. I even mentioned to that I was struggling to reach Bobby Motaung about Mayele because he is always busy. My plea was that Chiefs must sign him. They received my message, but they didn't act on it.' Said Nzenza, to Nzenza, who is also from the DRC says that Mayele has a big reputation in a star studded national team. Something that Chiefs need in their current set up. 'At the time, he was playing for Yanga in Tanzania, but then a club from Egypt (Pyramids) signed him (Instead of Chiefs). He's an exceptional player. Whenever he comes to play for the national team, they refer to him as a super sub. Whenever he comes on, he changes the game. Look at how (Mamelodi) Sundowns lost the (CAF) Champions League because of him.' Said Nzenza on Mayele. Chiefs fans, do you believe your club management will finally pull off the signing of Mayele? Kaizer Chiefs news: Salum, Mayele, Duba

Kaizer Chiefs suffered a damning defeat at the hands of Gallants, stretching their gap from MTN 8 qualification. Nedbank Cup final berth is the silver lining in their season of suffering, a feeling AmaKhosi fans are getting accustomed to after last campaign's tenth-placed finish. Wandile Duba will be pivotal to ending their ten-year trophy drought when they face Orlando Pirates on May 10. The Soweto giants are experiencing further mishaps in the boardrooms as long-term priority targets Fiston Mayele and Feisal Salum appear set to reject Kaizer Chiefs' offers. The former, who guided Pyramids FC to the Champions League finals with an emphatic brace over Orlando Pirates, has been offered a two-year deal by his current team. And with the former they're in, simultaneously topping the Egyptian Premier League, you get the feeling he may stay. 'They [Pyramids FC] are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him,' said Soccer Laduma. ' So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well.' Regarding Salum, Kaizer Chiefs now face competition against his former club Young Africans. 'Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum's potential return to Young Africans is intensifying amidst growing interest from several other clubs,' a source revealed. 'Salum has emerged as a prime target for Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who previously worked with the midfielder at Yanga. With clear indications pointing towards a move for Aziz Ki at the end of the season, Yanga are reportedly keen to welcome back Salum.' 'The midfielder has only a year left on his contract with Azam FC and is reportedly eager for a move. A return to Yanga would be an appealing prospect for the Zanzibar-born midfielder.' OH-NO: Kaizer Chiefs to face rejection from two priority targets?

Kaizer Chiefs could be forced to walk away from priority targets Fiston Mayele and Feisal Salum. The former netted an emphatic brace against Orlando Pirates to send Pyramids FC to the Champion's League finals, where they face South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns. AmaKhosi have longed for Mayele's services, but there's a plausible argument that the Egyptian giants success – who currently top the Egyptian Premier League and are within reaching distance of their first African title – coupled with Kaizer Chiefs' season-long anguish, could dissuade the Congolese international from flocking to the Soweto. Moreover, in a bid to keep their in-form striker, Pyramids have offered a two-year extension, slimming Kaizer Chiefs' chances of landing the 30-year-old. 'They [Pyramids FC] are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him. So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well,' Soccer Laduma reported. AmaKhosi are facing other barriers with Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum, who appears close to inking a new deal with his former club Young Africans.
