OH-NO: Kaizer Chiefs to face rejection from two priority targets?
Kaizer Chiefs could be forced to walk away from priority targets Fiston Mayele and Feisal Salum.
The former netted an emphatic brace against Orlando Pirates to send Pyramids FC to the Champion's League finals, where they face South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
AmaKhosi have longed for Mayele's services, but there's a plausible argument that the Egyptian giants success – who currently top the Egyptian Premier League and are within reaching distance of their first African title – coupled with Kaizer Chiefs' season-long anguish, could dissuade the Congolese international from flocking to the Soweto.
Moreover, in a bid to keep their in-form striker, Pyramids have offered a two-year extension, slimming Kaizer Chiefs' chances of landing the 30-year-old.
'They [Pyramids FC] are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him. So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well,' Soccer Laduma reported.
AmaKhosi are facing other barriers with Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum, who appears close to inking a new deal with his former club Young Africans.
'Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum's potential return to Young Africans is intensifying amidst growing interest from several other clubs,' a source revealed.
'Salum has emerged as a prime target for Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who previously worked with the midfielder at Yanga. With clear indications pointing towards a move for Aziz Ki at the end of the season, Yanga are reportedly keen to welcome back Salum.'
'The midfielder has only a year left on his contract with Azam FC and is reportedly eager for a move. A return to Yanga would be an appealing prospect for the Zanzibar-born midfielder.'

A highly-placed source has confirmed that RS Berkane have submitted a $300,000 (approx. R5.6 million) bid for the player – a figure that may now set the benchmark for any club hoping to land the 24-year-old. Kaizer Chiefs, who are in the market for a proven goal scorer, see Mukwala as a potential solution to their ongoing issues in front of goal. Khune rejected Chiefs' non-playing position offer! Here's why...
Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has revealed that he rejected a non-playing offer from the club in 2024. This was after Amakhosi revealed that Khune's time with them as a player had come to an end after 25 years. Chiefs further revealed that they were open to offering Khune a non-playing position within the club as he's considered part of the family. However, Khune told KickOff Magazine that Chiefs offered him a deal to coach the U13 team goalkeepers. And he rejected it on the basis that he didn't want to take out his frustrations on young boys aspiring to be like him. Khune had expected to be offered to coach senior team goalkeepers at Chiefs, adding that perhaps he could help with scouting for new talent in future. Kaizer Chiefs make HUGE decision on Percy Tau signing!
Kaizer Chiefs have previously been linked with Percy Tau and they could now sign him for free this window. Chiefs have been touted as long-term admirers of Tau but question marks remain over finally signing him. Tau recently parted ways with his new side Qatar SC, this after a very short stint with the Qatari side. After only joining from Al Ahly in January, The South African international played just 10 times for the club, in an injury ravaged spell. He failed to find the back of the net during his time there, but was able to register four assists in the process. Before signing for Qatar, there had been rumours of interesting in Iran, North Africa as well as South Africa. On home soil it has been Chiefs who have prominently been linked with the player over the years. During the previous close season, it was claimed that Amakhosi had made inquiries and even bids for Tau, but could not meet Al Ahly's valuation. With Tau being a free agent, that opens up the pool of clubs that can entice him with a deal. It also gives Chiefs an opportunity to speak to the player directly, with only a personal package to worry about. Coach Nasreddine Nabi has recently been doing the rounds trying to attract experienced attackers. But according to Soccer-Laduma , Chiefs have made the decision not to sign Tau! 'Of course there was a time when the club (Chiefs) was interested in signing Percy Tau and that was when he was about to leave Aly Ahly. But no longer.
