Yarmouk Club celebrates 60 years of sporting excellence
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: Yarmouk Club's Board of Directors held a commemorative celebration at its headquarters in Mishref, marking the club's 60th anniversary. The event brought together former club presidents, administrators, and stars from the golden generation, along with prominent Kuwaiti sports officials, including the Acting Director of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah. The ceremony honored past presidents and standout players of the "Sons of Mishref," recognizing their invaluable contributions since the club's founding in 1965 on Failaka Island. Bashar Abdullah lauded Yarmouk Club's rich legacy and its vital role in shaping the Kuwaiti sports landscape. 'Six decades of achievement and dedication deserve to be celebrated and passed on with pride to future generations,' he said. He also expressed hope that this initiative would serve as a model for other clubs across Kuwait. Club President Ahmed Al-Jarki warmly welcomed attendees and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who laid the foundations of Yarmouk Club. 'This exceptional ceremony is a tribute to those who worked hard on Failaka Island to establish our beloved institution,' he said. 'Today's turnout reflects our trust and deep appreciation for your efforts throughout the club's journey.' Al-Jarki emphasized the impact of past leadership in transitioning the club from Failaka to its current location in Mishref, highlighting the club's proudest moments—winning the Amir Cup twice and clinching the joint league cup. He also extended thanks to the Public Authority for Sports for its continued support.

Yarmouk volleyball teams celebrate strong season across all age groups
KUWAIT CITY, May 24: Khaled Al-Fulaikawi, Board Member of Yarmouk Club and Head of the Volleyball Division, praised the impressive performances delivered by the club's volleyball teams during the recently concluded season. Highlighting the achievements, Al-Fulaikawi noted that the Under-10 team secured third place in the league, while both the Under-12 and Under-16 squads finished as league runners-up. The Under-16 team also claimed second place in the Cup competition, and the Under-19 youth team earned second place in the Cup as well. Al-Fulaikawi emphasized that these results were the outcome of consistent hard work and dedication by the technical staff, referring to them as the backbone of the "Sons of Mishref" volleyball program. He expressed optimism for even greater success in the upcoming season, reaffirming the club's commitment to nurturing talent and competing at a high level. Osama Madkour, head coach of Yarmouk's Under-19 team and technical director, extended heartfelt thanks to the club's management for their continued support. He credited club officials, including President Ahmed Al-Jarki, Secretary General Fouad Al-Filakawi, and Volleyball Head Khaled Al-Filakawi, for their constant presence and encouragement throughout the season. 'The supportive environment created by the management allowed us to focus on building the teams and achieving strong results,' Madkour said. 'With our recent success, the technical staff's mandate has been renewed, and we are committed to further developing player performance and producing future champions.' The Yarmouk Club's volleyball operations are overseen by Head of the Volleyball Apparatus, Khaled Al-Filakawi, and his deputy, Othman Haji. The technical team includes: Khaled Al-Mutairi – First Team Coach Abbas Al-Gharib – Assistant Coach Osama Madkour – Under-19 Coach Ahmed Al-Lawati – Under-16 Coach Nasser Fatih – Under-14 Coach Hussam Ramadan – Under-12 Coach Firas Bin Mahmoud – Under-10 Coach With a strong support system and a skilled coaching lineup, Yarmouk Volleyball is positioning itself for continued success and long-term player development.
