Harrison Ford, 82, Makes Decision on His Future in ‘Yellowstone' Universe
Harrison Ford is open to returning to the Yellowstone universe if the opportunity presents itself.
After starring in the 1923 spinoff as Jacob Dutton, Ford, 82, wasn't sure how things were going to play out for him after the finale. Creator Taylor Sheridan has made it clear that he wrapped up all the loose ends on Season 2 because that chapter is closed.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at Paramount+'s '1923' FYC event in Los Angeles on May 4, Ford called the end of 1923 "fantastic."
"I thought it was very tight storytelling and I was absolutely delighted with it. It's probably the densest script and work that I've had a chance to work on in a long, long time," he said.
Now, Sheridan is moving on to the next big Yellowstone-related project — 1944. The series will be a prequel, and development was confirmed by Variety last month. Since Ford's on-screen character didn't die at the end of 1923, it's possible that he could reprise his role if there was ever a need.
While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter, Ford noted that he'd like to return to the Yellowstone family if Sheridan "asks nice."
"I have no idea what his plans are," Ford said.
According to his IMDb page, Ford starred in 15 episodes of 1923 over the past two seasons. He also portrayed President Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, which was released in February. He doesn't have any other projects listed at the present time.
