GloRilla continues Yo Gotti tradition with Glo Bash: What's planned for Memphis concert?
In what is expected to be the concert event of the summer in Memphis, hometown hip-hop hero GloRilla will headline a show at FedExForum on July 25. The rap star is hosting the first Glo Bash, a mid-summer concert at the Downtown venue, which will take place just ahead of the rapper's 26th birthday on July 28. GloRilla — who is signed to Memphis rap veteran Yo Gotti's CMG label — looks to create her own tradition in the spirit of Yo Gotti's famous Birthday Bash concerts, held between 2013 and 2022. Here's what you should know ahead of Glo Bash. GloRilla's momentum continues After a breakout year in 2024, GloRilla continued to see her star shine in 2025. In January, GloRilla made her debut as part of the 50th anniversary season of NBC late-night comedy show 'Saturday Night Live.' In addition to performing a pair of songs on the show, Glo made a guest appearance in the show's final filmed sketch alongside host Dave Chappelle. A couple weeks later, GloRilla attended to the 67th annual Grammy awards in Los Angeles where she was nominated in two categories — but unfortunately lost out for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for her track "Yeah Glo!" (which has been certified a two-times platinum hit by the Recording Industry Association of America). In March, GloRilla headlined her first national tour, playing some 20 dates across the country, as well as making high-profile appearances at the Coachella Music Festival in California. Then in June, GloRilla — who was born Gloria Hallelujah Woods — had a shocking triumph, winning the Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the BET Awards. She was recognized for her gospel music collaboration with Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music and Kierra Sheard on the track 'Rain Down on Me.' Also in June, she scored a huge international hit, as part of a collaboration with BTS member J-Hope. The South Korean boy band superstar's latest solo track, 'Killin' It Girl,' features a guest verse from GloRilla. The song quickly became a bona fide hit on the global charts — 'Killin' It Girl ' debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. and No. 3 on the Global 200 — with 55.1 million streams and 43,000 copies sold worldwide. On the U.S. charts, the song made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week of release, cracking the top 40. Continuing a Memphis hip-hop tradition GLORILLA IN MEMPHIS: GloRilla makes surprise appearance at Memphis high school, donates $25,000 for media center Announced in April, the first of what looks to be an annual Glo Bash concert certainly fills a void in Bluff City hip-hop. In a sense, Glo will be picking up the torch from her label head and mentor Yo Gotti, who staged a series of star-studded summer birthday concerts over a decade, moving the shows from the Orpheum to FedExForum in that time. The last Yo Gotti Birthday Bash concert came in 2022, as Gotti shifted focus from performing to running his entertainment empire. With the inaugural Glo Bash, that sense of summertime excitement returns with what's expected to be a triumphant celebration not just of GloRilla, but of CMG's continuing success, and an ongoing Memphis rap renaissance that has seen the city and its artists reaching a new peak of mainstream popularity. GloRilla's labelmates, collaborators and guest stars As with the old Yo Gotti Birthday Bash concerts, GloRilla will be topping a lineup that's expected to feature several other artists, including some of her CMG labelmates, as well previously announced and surprise guests — hence the "GloRilla & Friends" billing for the show. So far, in addition to Glo, two acts have been formally announced for the Glo Bash: Sexxy Red and BossMan Dlow. St. Louis rapper Sexxy Red teamed up with GloRilla on 2024's "Whatchu Kno About Me,' which was a platinum-selling Top 20 pop hit and reached No. 3 on the Billboard rap charts. Florida trap rapper BossMan Dlow is another hit GloRilla collaborator. The pair worked together on 2023's 'Finesse,' which became a Top 40 hit on its way to gold certification. Over the course of her career, GloRilla has worked with everyone from Megan Thee Stallion to Cardi B to Tyler, The Creator, so there could be a chance — however small — that some big names could turn up for the concert. Are tickets still available for GloRilla's Glo Bash in Memphis? As of this writing, there are still plenty of tickets available for the first Glo Bash, with prices starting at $77 and going up to $400-plus. A quick scan of the available options shows that the cheapest seats — those that range from $77 to $96 — will put you in the upper level 200 section of FedExForum. Tickets in the $200 to $300 price range will put you in the lower bowl sections of the 100 level of the arena. Meanwhile, a relative handful of floor seats remain priced between $290 to $347, depending on your proximity to the stage. The best seats, tagged as Platinum level tickets, can be found in the front section, about 10 rows back of the stage. Those will cost $454. As always, ticket availability is fluid and Memphis is, historically, a heavily late-buying market. Still, fans would be well advised to purchase sooner rather than later, as the show is expected to sell out. Angela Simmons Shares Cryptic Message Amid Yo Gotti Breakup Rumors
Days after rumors of a breakup between Angela Simmons and rapper Yo Gotti surfaced, the fitness enthusiast has shared a cryptic post many believe to be confirmation of their split. Shared to her Instagram Stories Thursday (May 22), Simmons posted a brief note about only wanting things in life that return her same energy, writing, 'I want what wants me in life. In all areas. What flows FLOWS. What goes GOES.' Followers took this to mean the pair have gone their separate ways, aided by Simmons choosing Chris Brown and Usher collab 'New Flame' to score the next slide. See the main post below. Rumors of a breakup between the two spread following a report from MTO that the pair split because, 'Angela felt like she was putting in more effort than she was getting back,' according to their source. 'Yo Gotti's schedule was nonstop — studios, business, appearances — and she started feeling like she wasn't a priority.' Whispers of Yo Gotti getting 'too close' to his artist, GloRilla, also allegedly played a factor, with the source adding, 'Angela's not the jealous type, but she's also not going to ignore red flags — even if they're just rumors. She wanted more reassurance, more presence, more time.' Neither Simmons nor Gotti have confirmed a breakup. Simmons and Gotti began dating in 2022, going public with their romance on New Year's Day, 2023. This came years after the rapper announced his crush on her via his 2016 hit, 'Down In The DM.' The couple have since had a generally smooth relationship, with engagement rumors surfacing as recently as September 2024, when he took Simmons on a romantic getaway for her 37th birthday.
