'Daredevil: Born Again' reveals Ms. Marvel update, sparking Young Avengers speculation in latest episode

Marvel fans watching Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ may have just caught a significant clue pointing towards the formation of the Young Avengers. In episode five of the series, Yusuf Khan (played by Mohan Kapoor), father of Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, makes a surprise appearance as the assistant bank manager interacting with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). During their conversation, Yusuf casually mentions that his daughter isn't in Jersey City—she's currently in Los Angeles 'with her friends.' Though vague, this remark instantly piqued fans' interest, especially given recent developments across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The final scene of The Marvels saw Kamala approaching Kate Bishop in a Nick Fury-style recruitment pitch. Her cryptic question, 'Did you know Ant-Man had a daughter?' was a direct nod to Cassie Lang, another established Young Avenger. The MCU has already introduced Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Wiccan, Speed, Eli Bradley, Kid Loki, and Cassie Lang—all core members of the comic book version of the team. Adding to the intrigue, comic lore also features the West Coast Avengers, a group that includes Kamala's current MCU allies. While the two teams are distinct, Marvel might be merging them to streamline storytelling in upcoming phases. This brief exchange in Daredevil: Born Again has fuelled speculation that the Young Avengers are not just assembling—they might already be in action. Whether or not this leads to an official team reveal, the hints are getting harder to ignore. With the multiverse concept firmly established, Marvel Studios has ample room to expand. Whether this is a direct setup or clever misdirection remains to be seen.

‘Daredevil: Born Again' Might've Just Dropped Another Young Avengers Hint

Marvel has been slowly but steadily lining up potential members of the Young Avengers, and finally gave it a near explicit mention in 'The Marvels.' Now, thanks to the latest episode of 'Daredevil: Born Again,' we might have gotten a new update. In the fifth episode of the season, now streaming on Disney+, we get a surprise appearance from Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapoor), as the assistant manager of the bank that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) is hoping to get a loan from. As they chat, Yusuf boasts about his daughter Kamala Khan, better known to some as Ms. Marvel. In that conversation, Yusuf mentions that Kamala isn't in Jersey City right now because she's off in Los Angeles with her friends. It's a quick aside, and Yusuf even admits he doesn't know what she's doing out there. But fans might. After all, there's a whole comic story arc centered on the 'West Coast Avengers.' The team first appeared in a 1984 run written by Roger Stern and drawn by Bob Hall and Brett Breeding. There's been various iterations of them over the years, but in 2018's 'Fresh Start,' the team consists of Hawkeye, Kate Bishop and America Chavez, among others. Kate Bishop and America Chavez are newer additions to the MCU, played by Hailee Steinfeld and Xochitl Gomez, respectively. Both are also members of the Young Avengers in the comics. So, could Marvel be combining the Young Avengers and the West Coast Avengers for the MCU? It may be a stretch, considering they're truly two different teams, but it's worth recalling that, in the final minutes of 'The Marvels,' Kamala Khan does track down Kate Bishop to recruit her, Nick Fury-style, to a team she's putting together. As the scene ends, Kamala coyly asks Kate, 'Did you know Ant-Man had a daughter?' That daughter is Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton in the MCU. She's also a member of the Young Avengers in the comics, as are Wiccan, Eli Bradley, Kid Loki and Speed, all of whom have been introduced across the Marvel television series. It's impossible to say for sure at this point, we're really just theorizing. But it's not hard to imagine a world (especially considering the multiverse is real), where the friends that Kamala is with in L.A. are the new members of her team. 'Daredevil: Born Again' is now streaming on Disney+. The post 'Daredevil: Born Again' Might've Just Dropped Another Young Avengers Hint appeared first on TheWrap.

Okay, let's talk about those alleged Avengers: Doomsday leaks

[This article may contain spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday—although, since that movie hasn't even been filmed yet, god only knows, yeah?] Earlier today, the Marvel news ecosystem flew into a veritable tizzy—possibly even a kerfuffle—over allegations that concept art for next May's Avengers: Doomsday had leaked out onto the internet. Per an artist named Mushk Rizvi (whose social media and LinkedIn lists them as a concept artist for Marvel Studios) very briefly posted several images that were alleged to be concept art for the as-yet-unfilmed movie, and while these posts were quickly deleted, it wasn't quick enough for the internet. Now the images are floating around all over the place (we're not going to post them here, but even the semi-lobotomized Google of recent days will bring them up with a simple search), sending the speculation machines into overdrive. The upshot of all this is that—as might be expected, given that the 2027 Avengers movie is literally named after it—it's looking increasingly possible that this new duology of films, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will take major inspiration from 2015 event comic Secret Wars, in which Marvel villain par excellence Victor Von Doom finally managed to conquer reality for good. (I.e., for a couple of months a decade ago, until the status quo reasserted itself.) Among other things, the art shows Doom looming on his throne with Stephen Strange at his side, while the presence of 'Sheriff Strange' was a major part of comic-Doom's rule of 'Battleworld,' the small corner of reality he kludged together to rule over after the various members of the Marvel multiverse managed to blow each other to hell once and for all. Other images seem to also reference memorable bits of Secret Wars, including a medieval village filled with Hulks that seems reminiscent of the comics' concept of 'Greenland.' Other pictures reference a possible line-up of Young Avengers (including Kate Bishop Kamala Khan, and Billy Maximoff), although, if we're being honest, that particular picture is the one that makes us the most skeptical of this whole art dump, because it's hard to imagine Marvel attempting to reclaim its top position atop the box office heap with a movie that prominently features weirdo X-Men mascot character Doop. There's also a very odd image that shows what would appear to be a re-cast Black Panther, one where Star-Lord and Vision are roommates, and some shots that seem to show Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards on his knees before Doom. All of this, obviously, needs to be taken with huge, skyscraper-sized grains of salt; even if this concept art is real, it's just that: Concept art, suggesting possible ideas Marvel is exploring for the film, with no commitment to pursuing any of them. It is odd to note, though, that Secret Wars was essentially a massive finale, paying off, after decades, the idea of Doom finally triumphing over the rest of the Marvel universe. Using it in what's expected to be Robert Downey Jr.'s first major film in the role feels very odd, although the Russos have said they expect the film to 'challenge' audiences—and starting off with Doom suddenly in control of reality, and working back from there, would be a pretty hefty challenge for viewers to cope with. A Major Captain America Character Was Cut Out Of Brave New World, And I Agree With The Producer's Reason Why

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The upcoming Captain America: Brave New World is set to be a defining chapter for Sam Wilson's Cap, but fans expected to see several returning faces—including some introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (which you can stream with a Disney+ subscription). Now, producers on the flick have confirmed at least one major Captain America character won't appear in the film. Though it may be disappointing to some, the reasoning behind their exclusion actually makes a lot of sense. In an interview with Screen Rant, former Marvel VP Nate Moore explained why Eli Bradley, introduced in the original Disney+ TV series, was left out of Brave New World. According to Moore, the creative team realized that the forthcoming superhero film was becoming too crowded, and some cuts had to be made. With at least three major villains and an emphasis on developing Sam Wilson's journey as the new Cap, the decision was made to streamline the narrative. Moore explained: There are early drafts of the script where Eli was in it, but we started to feel like there were too many characters to track and we want to make sure if a character is in the film, they have something to do. And so we had to make the tough decision to just explore Isaiah and to see how Isaiah being pulled into Sam's world maybe affects him. We also wanted Sam and Isaiah. We wanted room to build up their relationship without a third party kind of commenting on it. I must admit, rather than having Eli appear in a minor, underdeveloped role, the filmmaker's choice to prioritize Isaiah Bradley's arc, which reportedly plays a pivotal role in Brave New World, is a solid way to go. It's no secret that overstuffed superhero movies can struggle under the weight of too many characters (Spider-Man 3 and X-Men: The Last Stand serve as prime examples). For those who might not be up to speed, Eli Bradley—or just Patriot to comic book fans—is the grandson of Isaiah Bradley, the "First Black Captain America." In the comics, Eli doesn't start with superpowers. Instead, determined to honor his family's legacy, he fakes it 'til he makes it by enhancing himself with the illegal Mutant Growth Hormone (MGH)—a risky shortcut that temporarily gives him superhuman abilities. Despite the rocky start, he eventually proves himself as a true hero, teaming up with Wiccan, Hulkling, and other young heroes to form the Young Avengers. Given that Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) is already assembling the Young Avengers, recruiting Kate Bishop and Joe Locke playing Billy Maximoff, it's possible Eli's time in the spotlight is coming—it just won't be in Brave New World. Would it have been great to see Eli Bradley in Brave New World? Absolutely. But shoving him into an already packed movie just to check a box wouldn't do the character justice. Marvel has been slowly but deliberately setting up the Young Avengers, and when Eli does return, it should be in a project that allows him to shine on his own terms, and for that, I respect the producer's decision. Captain American: Brave New World hits the 2025 movie schedule on February 14.
