'Daredevil: Born Again' reveals Ms. Marvel update, sparking Young Avengers speculation in latest episode
Marvel fans watching Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ may have just caught a significant clue pointing towards the formation of the Young Avengers.
In episode five of the series, Yusuf Khan (played by Mohan Kapoor), father of Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, makes a surprise appearance as the assistant bank manager interacting with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox).
During their conversation, Yusuf casually mentions that his daughter isn't in Jersey City—she's currently in Los Angeles 'with her friends.' Though vague, this remark instantly piqued fans' interest, especially given recent developments across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The final scene of The Marvels saw Kamala approaching Kate Bishop in a Nick Fury-style recruitment pitch. Her cryptic question, 'Did you know Ant-Man had a daughter?' was a direct nod to Cassie Lang, another established Young Avenger. The MCU has already introduced Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Wiccan, Speed, Eli Bradley, Kid Loki, and Cassie Lang—all core members of the comic book version of the team.
Adding to the intrigue, comic lore also features the West Coast Avengers, a group that includes Kamala's current MCU allies. While the two teams are distinct, Marvel might be merging them to streamline storytelling in upcoming phases.
This brief exchange in Daredevil: Born Again has fuelled speculation that the Young Avengers are not just assembling—they might already be in action. Whether or not this leads to an official team reveal, the hints are getting harder to ignore.
With the multiverse concept firmly established, Marvel Studios has ample room to expand. Whether this is a direct setup or clever misdirection remains to be seen.

Lilo & Stitch' stays on top in third week
The Disney film beat the latest 'Mission: Impossible' and 'Ballerina'. PHOTO: File Disney's family-friendly Lilo & Stitch kept up its dominance of the early summer North American box office, winning for a third week in a row with $32.5 million in ticket sales, industry estimates showed Sunday, as reported by AFP. The live-action remake of a 2002 animated film of the same name has so far raked in $335.8 million in the United States and Canada, and another $436 million abroad, Exhibitor Relations said. Debuting in second place at $25 million was Lionsgate's Ballerina, a John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas as a dancer turned contract killer, and co-starring Anjelica Huston. Keanu Reeves makes a brief appearance as the hitman Wick. "This is a weak opening for an action thriller spin-off," said David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning – the latest, and ostensibly last, in the hugely successful Tom Cruise spy thriller series based on a 1960s TV show – took third place with $15 million. The Paramount film has now grossed more than $449 million worldwide. In fourth place was Sony's Karate Kid: Legends, a sequel featuring Ralph Macchio - the star of the original 1984 classic - and action flick icon Jackie Chan, along with Ben Wang in the title role. It made $8.7 million at the domestic box office in its second week in theaters. And finishing up the top five was Warner Bros. and New Line's horror film Final Destination: Bloodlines, at $6.5 million. It has grossed $123.6 million so far at the domestic box office. Rounding out the top 10 were: The Phoenician Scheme ($6.25 million), Bring Her Back ($3.5 million), Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye ($3.1 million), Sinners ($2.9 million) and Thunderbolts ($2.5 million).

Orlando Bloom expresses optimism about potential return to Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
Nearly a decade after Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales premiered, speculation about the future of the beloved Disney franchise continues to grow. With two new films reportedly in development and rumors swirling about a possible reconciliation between Disney and Johnny Depp, longtime fans are eager to see familiar faces return — including Orlando Bloom. Appearing on ITV's This Morning to promote his upcoming film Deep Cover, Bloom was asked about potentially reprising his role as Will Turner. While remaining cautious, he appeared open to the idea, saying, 'Well, I don't know, I can't say anything at the moment because I really don't know, but there's definitely availability.' He added, 'I think they're trying to work out what it would all look like. I personally think it'd be great to get the band back together.' Bloom was a central figure in the original trilogy but stepped away from the franchise after 2007's At World's End, only returning for a brief post-credits appearance in Dead Men Tell No Tales. Though his cameo — alongside co-stars Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy — hinted at a potential reunion, the series was soon derailed by legal and public controversies surrounding Johnny Depp. Franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously confirmed to Collider that two scripts are in development. One is being written by Rush Hour and Catch Me If You Can screenwriter Jeff Nathanson. 'We have another one… We have two, and we don't know who's gonna win the horse race at this point,' Bruckheimer stated. With Bloom expressing enthusiasm and developments underway, the possibility of a revived Pirates ensemble remains afloat.

Neil Patrick Harris voices Deadpool in VR game launching 2025 exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and 3S
A new virtual reality title, Marvel's Deadpool VR, is set to launch exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and 3S in late 2025, according to a report from ScreenRant by Brandon Key. The game was revealed during the Summer Game Fest, with Neil Patrick Harris announced as the voice of Deadpool in this immersive first-person action experience. Developed by Twisted Pixel Games and Oculus Studios in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game introduces an original storyline not based on existing Marvel material. Deadpool finds himself pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, where he signs a shady contract and begins a chaotic quest for riches across the Marvel universe. The trailer highlights Deadpool's signature humor, fourth-wall breaking, and self-awareness, with the character openly acknowledging his existence inside a VR game. Players will take on the role of Deadpool, using dual pistols, katanas, kunai, and parkour-style movement to navigate the game's action-packed environments. Drawing on its previous VR work with Path of the Warrior, developer Twisted Pixel Games promises a unique and exaggerated combat system tailored for the VR format. Combat scenarios include over-the-top actions like using severed limbs as weapons, tossing grenades back at enemies, and shoving heads into propellers—true to Deadpool's irreverent style. This marks the character's first major game appearance since the 2013 cult-classic Deadpool by Activision. With Harris bringing a fresh take to the Merc with a Mouth and gameplay designed to reflect the character's chaotic personality, Marvel's Deadpool VR could mark a bold new direction for Marvel's future in VR gaming.
