Neil Patrick Harris voices Deadpool in VR game launching 2025 exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and 3S

Express Tribune07-06-2025
A new virtual reality title, Marvel's Deadpool VR, is set to launch exclusively on Meta Quest 3 and 3S in late 2025, according to a report from ScreenRant by Brandon Key. The game was revealed during the Summer Game Fest, with Neil Patrick Harris announced as the voice of Deadpool in this immersive first-person action experience.
Developed by Twisted Pixel Games and Oculus Studios in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game introduces an original storyline not based on existing Marvel material. Deadpool finds himself pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, where he signs a shady contract and begins a chaotic quest for riches across the Marvel universe.
The trailer highlights Deadpool's signature humor, fourth-wall breaking, and self-awareness, with the character openly acknowledging his existence inside a VR game. Players will take on the role of Deadpool, using dual pistols, katanas, kunai, and parkour-style movement to navigate the game's action-packed environments.
Drawing on its previous VR work with Path of the Warrior, developer Twisted Pixel Games promises a unique and exaggerated combat system tailored for the VR format. Combat scenarios include over-the-top actions like using severed limbs as weapons, tossing grenades back at enemies, and shoving heads into propellers—true to Deadpool's irreverent style.
This marks the character's first major game appearance since the 2013 cult-classic Deadpool by Activision. With Harris bringing a fresh take to the Merc with a Mouth and gameplay designed to reflect the character's chaotic personality, Marvel's Deadpool VR could mark a bold new direction for Marvel's future in VR gaming.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day featurette reveals Tom Holland's first day on set

Sony Pictures has released the first official 'Day One' featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, offering fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Tom Holland's return as Marvel's iconic web-slinger. Filmed on location in Glasgow, Scotland, the footage captures Holland's first day on set for his fourth solo MCU Spider-Man film. The featurette shows Holland in action, including scenes of Spider-Man attempting to break into an armored vehicle bearing a mysterious demon-like logo. Director Destin Daniel Cretton can be seen guiding the action, with speculation mounting that the logo may hint at connections to The Punisher, Mephisto, The Hand, or Mister Negative's Inner Demons. Day one back in the suit. The story continues with #SpiderManBrandNewDay - in theatres 7.31.26 — Spider-Man Movie (@SpiderManMovie) August 10, 2025 In the video, Holland reflects on his new approach to the role, noting, 'Putting the suit on, it feels different this time… Hopefully get it right. No pressure.' Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has hinted that this will be Holland's first time portraying the 'classic' version of Spider-Man on screen. While the film shares its title with the controversial Brand New Day comic book era—where Spider-Man's marriage to Mary Jane was erased via a deal with Mephisto—the storyline here is expected to focus on Spidey teaming up with The Punisher to battle a Savage Hulk, with The Scorpion also rumored to appear. The cast includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026.

Marvel announces Inhyuk Lee's Street-Verse Variants reimagining heroes in techwear style

Marvel has announced a new collection of Street-Verse Variant Covers by best-selling artist Inhyuk Lee, reimagining some of its most recognisable characters in futuristic, techwear-inspired designs. The series will be released this November, coinciding with the launch of a yet-to-be-announced title. Unveiled to retailers during San Diego Comic-Con, the collection will feature heroes such as Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom. Lee, known for his digital artistry and fashion-influenced work, combines superhero iconography with functional, modern styling. 'I was honoured to create the Street-Verse Variant Covers for Marvel,' Lee said. 'I started my career as a character designer at a game company 20 years ago, so I'm familiar with and enjoy designing characters. I've been working on a personal project since the winter of 2021, redesigning Spider-Man characters' costumes in a modernised way, which I called 'Who is next?'. Marvel saw the series and approached me with this cover and mural project.' Now in his 13th year collaborating with Marvel, Lee noted that the publisher understands his strengths and vision. This project marks a continuation of Marvel's collaborations with prominent artists to reinterpret its characters for modern audiences, merging comic tradition with contemporary design trends.

Zendaya returns as MJ in new photos of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' alongside fiance Tom Holland

Marvel fans have been given their first look at Zendaya back in the role of MJ for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, thanks to new set photos from the upcoming Phase 6 film. The images mark her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Filming for Brand New Day began in early August, with Tom Holland the only cast member seen on set until now. The newly surfaced shots feature MJ and Peter Parker visiting Aunt May's grave who died in the previous instalment. Whether MJ remembers Peter after the memory-erasing events of No Way Home remains uncertain. While industry reports indicate Zendaya's role will be smaller this time, her character could still have key moments in the story. Even a few scenes may hold emotional significance if they explore her lingering connection with Peter. The set photos also spark speculation about the nature of their meeting. MJ may be at the cemetery for her own reasons, crossing paths with Peter unexpectedly, adding a layer of mystery to her part in the narrative. Zendaya is balancing her Marvel commitments with filming Dune: Part Three, making her Brand New Day appearance notable for fans following both franchises.
