King to media figures: Jordan will always be Gaza's biggest supporter - Jordan News
King to media figures: Jordan will always be Gaza's biggest supporter His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday affirmed that Jordan has been, and will remain, the greatest support for Gaza's people, who are suffering from a humanitarian catastrophe unlike anything witnessed in recent history. اضافة اعلان During a meeting with media figures at Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty said Jordan will continue to provide everything it can out of its sense of moral, humanitarian, and Arab duty, highlighting the Kingdom's diplomatic efforts, including recent meetings with the leaders of Germany and Canada, and ongoing coordination with Arab leaders and international partners to press for an end to the war on Gaza and step up the humanitarian response. "The suffering of our brethren in Gaza strikes at the very sense of our humanity, not just because it is happening at our doorstep, but also because this country was built on compassion, on standing with those who suffer," the King said. His Majesty also added, "No matter how much we do, it can never measure up to the scale of the horror Palestinians in Gaza endure every single day not when entire families are being erased and children are being starved." "But that doesn't mean that we are not doing everything in our power. We are. And we will continue to do so, relentlessly and without hesitation. Not because we have to, and certainly not because we are looking to take credit, but because we are not a nation that looks away or turns its back on neighbours in need," the King continued. His Majesty said he is aware that there isn't a single Jordanian who is not angry and horrified by what is happening in Gaza, "and I have no doubt that every Jordanian wants to help stop the suffering in any and every way he or she can." Everyone is distraught, the King added, but people express their grief differently. "We must respect all perspectives and individual choices, without judgements, accusations, personal attacks, or public shaming. We must always choose respect, unity and empathy," His Majesty said. The King also called for a balance between grief and solidarity with Gaza, and continuing to live life as normal, as this is an indispensable national duty. "Stopping normal life and damaging the national economy does not serve the interests of our Palestinian brothers and sisters. They would be the first to say they want a strong ally in Jordan," His Majesty stressed. His Majesty noted the importance of citizens continuing to be productive in order to stimulate the economy and work for a better future, adding that moving forward with their lives does not mean forgetting the pain of what is happening in Gaza. The King said Gaza needs a strong Jordan, reaffirming that the Kingdom will not deviate from its firm Arab values, and will continue to modernise and develop, and support its Arab brethren. Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.

Jordan: Royal Court chief attends part of sectoral workshops on agriculture, food security, healthcare
AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Thursday attended part of the sectoral workshops focused on agriculture and food security and healthcare. Held at Royal Hashemite Court (RHC), the sessions are part of the second phase of the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV), the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Issawi stressed that the EMV, launched under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah, represents a 'strategic' national choice. Issawi noted that the RHC's step to host these workshops reflects "clear commitment" to His Majesty's directives to implement the vision within specific timeframes. He pointed out that the EMV aligns with the broader paths of political and administrative modernisation, forming a comprehensive Royal vision cantered on the Jordanian citizen and the improvement of public services across all sectors. Issawi added that holding dedicated sessions for the agriculture, food security, and healthcare sectors is of 'particular significance,' given their fundamental role in the national economy and their direct impact on citizens' daily lives. Experts, academics, and representatives of the private sector and civil society organisations who were involved in drafting the EMV, as well as media professionals, are participating in the sectoral workshops, scheduled to run until July 29. The workshops will serve to solidify the EMV as a blueprint for successive governments within the stipulated timeframe, the statement said. The workshops, which are held periodically for each phase of the EMV, provide an opportunity for a responsible and independent review of its implementation. The workshops will ensure essential feedback is gathered, and will enable plans for optimisation of the vision's initiatives and recommendations, to keep pace with technological and technical developments, in line with the best modern practices, the statement said. These include the establishment and development of specialised disability centres across the governorate through annual funding provided on the occasion of His Majesty King Abdullah's birthday. Nine public parks have been established across Irbid Governorate under the Royal initiatives. In Umm Qais in Bani Kinanah District, Issawi checked on the progress of the eco-lodge project in the Yarmouk Nature Reserve. Issawi toured the project facilities, which will include 20 chalets, 10 hotel rooms, a visitor centre, various tourist amenities including a restaurant and additional services, as well as open areas with panoramic views and eco-tourism trails within the reserve. Jordan: Royal court chief inspects progress on Royal development projects in Zarqa
AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, who also heads the committee overseeing the implementation of Royal Initiatives, on Saturday inspected progress on development projects in the Tilaal Al Phosphate area (Phase II) and Wadi Al Ash in Zarqa Governorate. Issawi was accompanied by several senior officials, including Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri, Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Qudah, Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh, Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud, Director of the Royal Department for Environmental Protection Brig. Gen. Tembi Hamkari, Chairman of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry (ZCI) Fares Hammoudeh, Ruseifa Mayor Shadi Zeinati and Deputy Zarqa Mayor Fathi Khalayleh, according to a Royal Court statment. Two ministerial committees, led by the Minister of Local Administration and comprising representatives of all relevant bodies, were overseeing the rehabilitation of the two sites. Their objective was to address environmental and infrastructure challenges and transform the areas into economic hubs through integrated planning, infrastructure development, and the allocation of land for investment, all in line with Royal directives. In Ruseifa District, the delegation visited lands rehabilitated in Phase I, spanning around 134 dunums. These lands are earmarked for parks, recreational spaces, and investment projects that will serve residents of Ruseifa and nearby communities. Masri presented scenarios for future development, with the Ministry of Local Administration set to commission a specialised consulting firm to prepare studies and plans, guided by committee proposals and local community needs. The government will provide public services and infrastructure, while inviting private sector investment. The tour also included a visit to state-owned factories established on part of the Tilaal Al Phosphate lands, where Issawi was briefed on their operations. He also inspected the site of the former livestock market, which was relocated due to environmental and public health concerns. At the entrance to Ruseifa along the Amman-Zarqa highway, Issawi toured the remaining phosphate hills that are slated for landscaping and rehabilitation. Plans include levelling, laying red soil, planting trees, and beautification efforts to improve the area's visual appeal. The delegation also reviewed the status of Ruseifa National Park. Discussions focused on the park's rehabilitation and the enhancement of its agricultural and recreational facilities. As one of the city's oldest parks and once its only major public outlet, the site will be managed and redeveloped by Ruseifa Municipality. The Central State Properties Committee has officially approved allocating the park land to the Ministry of Local Administration. In the Wadi Al Ash industrial zone, Issawi reviewed redevelopment efforts aimed at establishing a hub for light industry. The area will benefit from improved infrastructure, road networks, upgraded entrances and exits, and updated regulatory frameworks. The tour included inspection of a new 1,200-metre internal road connecting the industrial zone to the Amman-Zarqa highway. The road, part of the Royal Initiatives, features four lanes, a central median, a redesigned roundabout, and a monument donated by the Zarqa Chamber of Industry to commemorate the Jordanian state's centennial. Issawi also followed up on efforts to link the area with the Amman Development Corridor. The two connecting roads are around 42 per cent complete and are expected to be finalised by the end of July. Further stops included visits to 49 brick and stone-cutting factories, 28 of which are built on 48 dunums of state land, with the rest on private plots. Authorities are currently assessing options to integrate these facilities into the broader master plan, with attention to environmental standards, health regulations, and optimal land use. Issawi was briefed on infrastructure upgrades and the challenges facing industrial and service development in the area, including road networks and utility provision. He emphasised the importance of removing obstacles, streamlining procedures, and ensuring quick, tangible outcomes, in accordance with Royal directives. He also urged full coordination and immediate action by all concerned agencies within their respective mandates. © Copyright The Jordan Times. All rights reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
