Shura Council delegation concludes visit to Switzerland
QNA Bern A delegation from the Shura Council, headed by Chairman of the Council's Internal and External Affairs Committee, HE Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, concluded a several-day visit to the Swiss Confederation. During the visit, the delegation met with President of the National Council of Switzerland, Maja Riniker, and Member of the Swiss National Council and President of the Swiss-Qatari Friendship Group, Hans Portmann. The meetings addressed existing cooperation between the Shura Council and the Swiss Parliament, ways to develop them to serve mutual interests, and discussed a number of parliamentary issues of common interest. The delegation also discussed Qatari-Swiss relations as well as the latest regional and international developments during a meeting with Head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Monika Kirgoz. During the visit, the delegation also met with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Martin Chungog; Deputy High Commissioner in the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Kelly Clements; and Deputy UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Nada Al Nashif. Discussions during the meeting dealt with a host of topics of mutual interest.

Shura delegation visits People's National Assembly of Algeria
QNA Algiers A delegation from the Shura Council met with President of the People's National Assembly of Algeria Ibrahim Boughali, where they reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. They also discussed ways to support cooperation and coordination between the two councils and exchanged expertise in legislative and regulatory matters. The delegation, headed by Member of the Shura Council Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, who is also chairman of the Internal and External Affairs Committee, visited the People's National Assembly of Algeria as part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two brotherly countries. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the Algerian parliamentary experience, the internal structure of the Assembly, and the mechanisms by which it carries out its roles, reflecting the commitment of both sides to sharing institutional experiences and expanding parliamentary knowledge. The Shura Council delegation also met with Mohamed Khouane, who serves as chairman of the Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and National Community Abroad Committee in the People's National Assembly. The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of expanding areas of parliamentary cooperation and enhancing coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums to serve common interests and strengthen the role of parliamentary diplomacy. As part of the visit, the Shura Council delegation also met with several members of the Algerian Council of the Nation, headed by Omar Dadi Addoun, who serves as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and National Community Abroad. The two sides addressed a range of issues related to strengthening cooperation and joint coordination.
