That was a highlight for me to work on his batting. I really enjoyed that from a leadership perspective because he didn't think he could bat. And he still can't bat that well, but we kind of helped him get through that test match and do really well,' he a target of 216, India were left staring down the barrel at 124/8 when Ishant Sharma joined VVS Laxman at the crease. The tailender held one end and stitched a crucial 81-run stand to get closer to victory. He played a vital innings of 31, which remained his highest score in Tests until his first half century in 2019 against West Indies. Ishant got dismissed on 205, leaving India 11 runs away from a win with just one wicket in hand.
