Nottingham Forest hold talks on move for USMNT's Yunus Musah from Milan
Nottingham Forest are in talks with AC Milan over a move for midfielder Yunus Musah. Club-to-club talks are taking place, while personal terms for the U.S. international are not expected to be an issue. Musah, who has played 80 games for Milan across two seasons, started in each of his side's friendlies this weekend — Saturday's match against Leeds United in Dublin and against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The 22-year-old joined Milan from Valencia in the summer of 2023 despite interest from Premier League clubs Fulham and West Ham United. Massimiliano Allegri has returned to Milan as head coach following a turbulent campaign, in which the 19-time Italian champions recorded an eighth-place league finish and lost the Coppa Italia final to Bologna. Milan also appointed Igli Tare as their new sporting director. Tare said of Musah's future earlier this summer: 'I consider Musah an excellent player, but we are looking for profiles with characteristics that fit the project we have with coach Allegri. Advertisement 'We are seeking deep-lying midfielders for a three-man midfield. Musah doesn't have these characteristics. He can play in a two or three-man midfield but with different characteristics. This is the real reason why we want to do something different.' Forest had also been weighing up a move for Douglas Luiz of Juventus, with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo keen to add a midfielder to his squad following the sales of Danilo and Lewis O'Brien to Botafogo and Wrexham respectively. Forest have signed four players so far in this summer window, with Bologna's Dan Ndoye, Botafogo duo Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha, and goalkeeper Angus Gunn all joining Nuno's squad. The midfielder came through Arsenal's academy before joining Valencia in 2019. Musah made 108 appearances for Valencia over three seasons, scoring five goals. Musah, who represented England up to under-18 level, has played 47 senior matches for the U.S. since making his debut, aged 17. He, alongside Pulisic, was omitted from Mauricio Pochettino's squad for this summer's Concacaf Gold Cup. Milan begin their season with a Coppa Italia tie against Bari on August 17 before opening their Serie A campaign against Cremonese six days later. (Joe Puetz/) Spot the pattern. Napoli submit bid to Milan for Nottingham Forest target Musah
Napoli have submitted a first offer for Milan midfielder Yunus Musah, reports from Italy claim, with the Neapolitan side eager to beat the likes of Nottingham Forest to the player's signature. According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have made an offer of €22 million plus bonuses for the former Arsenal and Valencia player. Napoli aim to sabotage Forest move for Musah It is not the first time that Napoli have been engaged with a transfer battle with Premier League club Forest this summer. Nottingham Forest enters the race for Yunus Musah
Nottingham Forest enters the race for Yunus Musah According to the Italian press, Nottingham Forest has thrown its hat into the ring to sign Ghanaian-born midfielder Yunus Musah. The English club is reportedly ready to put nearly €30 million on the table, significantly outbidding Napoli's current offer. This bold move could accelerate negotiations and force a swift resolution. Musah himself would prefer to remain in Serie A and is intrigued by Napoli's project. However, he is not ruling out a Premier League switch if Forest's proposal satisfies both him and AC Milan, his current club. Not considered essential by the Rossoneri management, the American midfielder now looks closer than ever to an exit. Signed from Valencia in 2023 for around €20 million, he has made 81 official appearances for Milan without scoring and has only four assists to his name. These numbers have not been enough to secure him an undisputed starting role.

Napoli relaunch talks for AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah
Napoli have revived the talks to sign AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah this summer (h/t journalist Gianluca Di Marzio). Negotiations hit a stumbling block after Milan were reluctant to accept Napoli's offer, although Musah had reportedly given the green light to the move. The Serie A champions are now maximising their efforts to reach a final agreement, having previously submitted an offer worth €25 million. Napoli manager Antonio Conte sees Musah as a valuable addition to the squad, but will have to fend off competition from Premier League club Nottingham Forest in the transfer race. The imminent arrival of Ardon Jashari at AC Milan for €39 million is likely to push Musah towards the exit. The Rossoneri have already invested in Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci this summer to bolster their midfield. Napoli hope that Milan's influx of new signings could ease Musah's stance and the negotiations will not be dragged on. The 22-year-old moved from Valencia to Milan in 2023, but has been a hit-and-miss for the Italian giants. Nevertheless, he played a key role in the Rossoneri's Italian super triumph in an otherwise dismal 2024/25 season. The United States international can be a breath of fresh air to Napoli's midfield with his ability to perform in different roles. His physicality and work rate align with Conte's ideology. The Partenopei are in talks to sign Juventus' Fabio Miretti in their efforts to revolutionise the midfield, having already snapped up Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer. Musah and Miretti will provide more depth to the squad heading into the new season, where Napoli will defend the Scudetto and compete in the Champions League. Lorenzo Lucca, Sam Beukema, Noa Lang, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Luca Marianucci have moved to Napoli in this transfer window.

Napoli resume Musah talks with Milan awaiting Nottingham Forest
The arrival of Ardon Jashari could push Milan to sell Yunus Musah, with Napoli reportedly ready to go back in, competing with Nottingham Forest. Jashari represented one of the sagas of the summer and is finally concluded with the Club Brugge midfielder landing on Italian soil this evening. He will undergo a medical tomorrow morning to complete the €39m transfer, including add-ons. (Photo by) That was a big investment and the Rossoneri will now be more inclined to sell Musah for a profit in order to raise funds. According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli have resumed negotiations with Milan for the USMNT midfielder, having been so close to an agreement a couple of months ago. Back then, the offer was close to €25m including bonuses and deemed insufficient, as he cost €21.2m to buy from Valencia in 2023. Nottingham Forest remain interested and are expected to make a formal bid, but until then, the Partenopei are still in the running.
