Napoli submit bid to Milan for Nottingham Forest target Musah
According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have made an offer of €22 million plus bonuses for the former Arsenal and Valencia player.

Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti had been increasingly linked with Antonio Conte's side in the last couple of weeks but with the club's renewed interest in Musah, the young Italian has been placed on the back-burner.
Napoli aim to sabotage Forest move for Musah
It is not the first time that Napoli have been engaged with a transfer battle with Premier League club Forest this summer. Dan Ndoye left Bologna to join the English side this summer, after Napoli were also interested in the Swiss international.

However, Gazzetta claim that Napoli hold the advantage this time as the player would prefer to stay in Italy. Despite the financial power of the Premier League club, the player's desire may help tip the balance in the direction of Conte's side.

Goalkeeper Donnarumma left out of PSG squad for UEFA Super Cup match amid reports he will leave
PARIS (AP) — Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been left out of the squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham amid increasing reports he will leave the club. PSG named its squad on Tuesday for the match, which is being held in Udine in Italy. Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who recently joined from Lille for just over 40 million euros ($46.44 million), was included along with backup goalie Matvei Safonov. Chevalier's arrival could signal Donnarumma's departure, with the 26-year-old Italy international unlikely to accept being No. 2 if coach Luis Enrique decides so. Donnarumma was arguably the best goalkeeper in Europe last season, playing a key role in PSG's Champions League success with inspired shot-stopping in the knockout stages. He also starred for Italy when it won the European Championship in 2021. But with one year left on his contract, Donnarumma has refused to sign a new contract and PSG is unlikely to let him leave for free at the end of the season. PSG experienced the same situation two seasons ago with Kylian Mbappé, who ended up joining Real Madrid on a free transfer after refusing to take up the option of a one-year contract extension. PSG is already well stocked with backup goalkeepers, including Arnau Tenas and 19-year-old Renato Martin. Five goalies could prove problematic to manage so at least one, and probably two, will need to leave during the summer transfer window. Donnarumma was in a similar position to Chevalier when he joined the club after helping Italy win the Euros. He replaced Keylor Navas as No. 1, even though Navas had been outstanding for PSG the previous season. Donnarumma's arrival at PSG was seen by fans as hugely unfair on Navas and a clumsy move by the club. Now the situation has come full circle for the Italy keeper, who finds himself in much the same position as Navas was. PSG begins its league campaign at Nantes on Aug. 17. ___ AP soccer:

Ex Italy Coach Heaps Praise On Inter Milan Prodigious Striker: 'Gives Me Hope For The Future'
Former Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti has spoken highly of Inter Milan starlet Francesco Pio Esposito. During an interview with RAI 2 via FCInterNews, Spalletti waxed lyrical about the prodigious center-forward. After a superb breakout season at Spezia, the 20-year-old returns to San Siro as an established goalscorer. Despite fierce competition for places at Inter, Esposito may have a prominent role next season. Indeed, new manager Cristian Chivu has already made it clear he plans to hand the young gun a chance to prove his worth. Therefore, the Serie A runners-up have fended off numerous offers for their sought-after striker. Esposito will likely play second fiddle to Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez. However, it's hard to rule him out as a potential starter, especially if the former fails to regain form. Meanwhile, he looks set for a major role in Italy's national team. (Photo by) 'I watched Pio Esposito play and he gives me hope for the future,' Spalletti said. 'For my time as national coach, I have one regret, which is not having brought anyone up from Serie B. 'If I could go back, I would call someone from the second division.' In addition to Esposito, Spalletti mentioned Parma teenager Giovanni Leoni during his interview. 'I had called some already, like Giovanni Leoni,' he said. Leoni has been on Inter's radar since the start of the summer. However, Parma's €40 million price tag has slowed the Nerazzurri down. Meanwhile, Spalletti offered his verdict on next season's Serie A title race. 'The favorites are the usual: Napoli, Inter, Milan, and Juventus. 'However, I hope there will be some teams that manage to get into the race, like Roma and Lazio. 'I'm happy about the return of Maurizio Sarri and Massimiliano Allegri, and I have great respect for both. 'I'm curious to see what Gian Piero Gasperini will do away from home in an important setting like Roma. 'Napoli has strong foundations; the club has done an excellent job. They are the favorites.'
