‘Property of No One' Festival to Launch With MENA Indie Lineup Sep 27

The Amsterdam-based one-day festival will feature performances from Juno, Zaid Khaled, Luka Salam, Hadi Birajakli, and Maya Ma. Aug 15, 2025 'Property of No One', an Amsterdam-based one-day festival, is set to launch its first iteration with a stellar lineup of indie artists from across the Middle East and North Africa region, at Tolhuistuin cultural centre on September 27th. The festival includes a multidisciplinary curated program of live performances, panel talks, and workshops, spotlighting the rapidly growing alternative scene of the Mashreq. While the full lineup remains under wraps, the confirmed names include Egyptian indie pop star Juno, folk singer-songwriter Luka Salam, Jordanian alt-pop sensation Zaid Khaled, alongside Syrian multi-instrumentalist Hadi Birajakli, and Maya Ma, the solo alias of Ramy Abul-Ata, who is known for combining alt-pop, rock, funk and trip-hop. The festival is split across three rooms at Tolhuistuin, with the main room featuring a curation of live acts expressing different ends of the Mashreq sound, while the second room will host different screenings, art interviews and DJ sets in collaboration with Paris-based organization Kalam Aflam and Netherlands music broadcasting platform, Sayyad Station. Meanwhile, Room three will host various cultural workshops, accompanied by a full-day market space. The full lineup will be announced soon. Tickets are available on the link in @ponfestival's Instagram bio.

Littérature du Son Libre to Launch in Beirut May 17th

KED Beirut and Beirut & Beyond launch new series with Zaid Khaled, Glitter55, Koast, and Ziad Naboulsi on May 17. May 14, 2025 In Beirut, where sound has long been a means of resistance and reinvention, a new concert series is carving out its own space. KED Beirut and Beirut & Beyond have teamed up to launch Littérature du Son Libre, a live music experience set on grounding experimental, independent sounds in a city constantly on the edge. This is a movement toward self-determined scenes that run on their own rhythm, not global trends. The first edition kicks off Saturday, May 17 at KED. At the center: Jordanian indie singer Zaid Khaled, joined by Tunisian rapper Koast and DJ Ziad Naboulsi, with Moroccan producer Glitter55 on closing duties. Expect everything from trap to chaâbi to indie. In a time of limited support and shrinking cultural space, this series offers an independent platform for artists across the region and beyond. The goal is clear: monthly shows that are accessible, professionally produced, and rooted in the moment. Tickets available on KED Beirut's Instagram Bio.
